The drive thru was fast despite it being lunch time, and inside there was a staff member helping people use the self-service machines. The only really distinctive thing I have to note about this Maccas is that the car park isn't very big, and at lunch time it was nearly full. I parked in a spot which had a pole blocking the driver's side door from opening, so I had to move spots. Otherwise, the experience was perfectly acceptable.

Well this particular branch doesnt let that theory down although it does offer better service than many and it does have a drive through which is open till 2 am so you can get all this rotten food after a few drinks on the way home from the pub (in a taxi of course and not driving) when the food actually tastes ok. The staff are always fantastic, good banter and genuinely seem to be quite proud of the company they work for. The views of the harbour and forth are just stunning, especially on a sunny day. The bean burgers are always a wonderful hit! They are mushy and fall apart slightly but it's all part of the experience :D Plus their plain chips are perfect. Again my banana milkshake was a little lumpy for my tastes but I think that's to "show authenticity"*shrugs* They also offer student discount and double discount on tuesdays. I have never had a bad experience at this branch of Handmade Burger Company...and I've been going sporadically over the last 5 years!

As we approached the entrance, we were greeted by a kind waitress who took us to our table which was conveniently located by the window with views over the docks with a boat just in. I had a cheeseburger which was very good. The bread was nice and crispy, the meat was fresh with a nice hint of garlic and the cheese was freshly sliced cheddar. For my side, I had the hand cut chips which were brilliant! They had a nice crisp texture and melted in the middle. Just be wary of the salt shakers. I thought it was like a pepper grinder but as soon as I turned it over, the salt began tumbling out at the speed of light which is rather annoying. To drink I had a banana milkshake. It was very nice but as Auburn said, there are lumps of banana in the bottom of the cup that get stuck in the straw which is a bit unappetising. We also had fresh water from the machine which was ice cold, just as I like it! I went to the toilet before I left which was clean enough but the tap was one of those annoying ones that turns off after about 5 seconds. Visiting the Handmade Burger Company was a good decision on our part and it makes a nice change of pace to the Pizza Express next door which is always ever so busy. Today the restaurant was practically empty and of course, the seats that were mainly taken were the ones in the window. I actually think this place has more windows than Pizza Express, so therefore benefits from more natural light coming in.

I'm fairly use to McDonalds being like a war zone. Dirty tables, people falling over, all that jazz. I was pleasantly surprised when I needed to kill some time in the Drumbrae(ish) area and went in to get a coffee. The place was clean. This seemed to be completely down to one woman who was meticulously and continuously combing the entire place and making sure everywhere was spotless. There also seems to be some magic going on and it was really easy to ignore the loud, screaming children. I think they've done something fancy with the layout of the place. For the (rare) pleasant McDonalds experience this place deserves five stars. Additionally, there isn't much in the area in the way of cafes and it definitely fills a gap. Alas, it's still a McDonalds and my spontaneous chips (chips and coffee is totally a thing) have had the usual negative effects (6 weeks breakout free, then I had some McDonalds chips!) If you're passing and starving definitely head on in!

The decor is very in your face American diner and it was quite loud and echoey but was spacious and clean with lovely big booths along one wall. We started to order our food and quickly realised we needed some help with the menu! Our server was lovely and explained that burgers come plain and you can add as many of as few toppings as you wanted for free (think Subway for burgers!). I went for the Bacon Cheeseburger and added crispy onions, ketchup, lettuce, tomatoes, pickle....you get the idea! Whilst the food is served quickly akin to fast food, the prices are higher, with my burger costing £8.50. The soft drinks are served as a bottomless cup (for £2.50 I think) and if it's made by Coca Cola they sell it which gives you a choice of over 100 drinks!! You self serve your drink from one of two machines and given how long it took me to browse the choices, I can imagine this might cause a bit of a queue at busier times. I enjoyed my burger - the toppings were the best bit, I particularly liked the bacon and the cheese - but the burger patty was quite ordinary. Given the number of burger restaurants in Glasgow (where I used eat my burgers) it's hard not to compare and for me Five Guys just isn't a patch on a Bread Meats Bread type burger. The chips were good, crunchy, super salty and cooked skin one, they were delicious. And I found lots of drinks I really liked, the cherry and vanilla coke is good!!!! All the staff I spoke to were lovely, a number offered to help out, with one bringing a fab high chair and crayons for A (even if bringing crayons for an 8 month old did make me laugh a bit, all he wanted to do was eat them!!) and there were a lot of staff. One mentioned that the lunch service had been crazy busy so I'm guessing that's why there were so many. I'm just not sure our bill for 2 burgers, one chips & 2 sodas at £27 was great value for the quality of our meal.

Most members of the staff are really kind and helpful, providing top notch service, however just like the saying goes, bad apples truly ruin the bunch. On our last visit, our server Ana seemed like she had no care in the world for any of her customers, acting in a very rude manner for the entirety of the dining experience. Most of the time she just flat out ignored us leaving us sitting around wondering when we would be helped. TL;DR If you're willing to overlook the relatively spotty service that seriously needs to be addressed by management in the form of proper hiring and training practices, the food here is quite tasty!

The staff are quite knwledgeable about their menu and they seem to have more special offers on here than in other McD's. The restaurant isn't that big and if you can get one of the armchairs when you sit down as they are really comfy. The restaurant is clean and tidy although the only views is of the car park and the hotel next door, you can't actually see the bridges from here. The toilets, same as any other McD's toilets I'm afraid quite disgusting although these ones are in a better state than some and you see someone going in and cleaning them every 20 minutes if they are really busy! Which is nice to see.

Initial impressions were not the most favourable, the furniture is mainly bolted down (theft may be an issue for them?) and menu failed to inspire - no haggis or cranachan to be seen or heard, but may be this is one of those food fusion restaurants? it did have some german food, such as hamburgers and also french fries. Table service was non-existent and cutlery was severely lacking. However, once we had navigated the strange food acquisition system, we received our meals quite promptly. As one who rarely eats a burger, I was pleasantly surprised - it was well seasoned and contained a host of condiments. Their chips, or "french fries" to use the vernacular, satisfactory and the range of drinks was adequate if somewhat limited. Children seem to be quite taken with the restaurant, and many appear to have received gifts from the friendly staff. While I would recommend this for families, our Bridge club will most likely chose a different venue for next years annual dinner and prize giving/awards ceremony

Sometimes, there's an itch deep down inside you that can only be scratched by a Mickey Dee cheese quarterpounder meal. With large fries, and a strawberry milkshake. Possibly a McFlurry. Maybe a side of the mozzarella dippers, if they're on the go. OK, stop reading this while I go and wipe the drool off my poor little face. This is an example of a decent, if unremarkable McDonald's establishment. There's nothing memorable or awful. The service is quick, the staff are friendly (perhaps a little too friendly in a slightly forced and corporate way, but that's a complaint about all McD's restaurants not just this one) and the food is... well, it's McDonald's. You know what you're getting. That's why you go. It's also why you regret it after half an hour, and also why you want another one after an hour, but that's a whole other tale, for a whole other day... possibly to be told over a plain double cheeseburger and a large mocha. C'mon. Be bad. Embrace the burger.
