Please, I beg of you, do not go here…read more I have been to Dr. Weathers twice. I first went because I suspected that I was anemic; I just wanted a bloodtest. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and I had very high hopes while I was in the waiting room. However, Dr. Weathers did not seem interested in anything that I had to say, and proclaimed instead that I was depressed, not anemic (he reached this diagnosis the minute that he learned I had just moved to Ohio). He told me that he would do the bloodwork, but badgered me to try some lexapro (which he gave me free samples of). I agreed, although I did not feel depressed. The lexapro made me very ill and I stopped taking it after a week, however. When I went back to see him, he was irritated that I had stopped taking the lexapro and didn't seem to believe me when I told him about the side effects (he parroted them back to me with an incredulous look on his face). He told me that my bloodwork came back normal and that he wanted me to try wellbutrin. I agreed, feeling that I didn't even know my own body and feeling embarrassed. However, I also had bad side effects with that and so I stopped after 2 weeks and did not go back to Dr. Weathers. Soon thereafter I drove back to Metro Detroit to see my regular doctor. During this examination I found out that my bloodwork had indicated that I was anemic! On the lower side, sure, but anemic. So it seems to me that Dr. Weathers had been more interested in getting me hooked on SSRIs and getting kickbacks from pharm companies than in actually helping me out.

I have an extremely rare condition, that most Doctors are completely unaware of. I visited many Doctors and I was unable to find a single one in this area who is familiar with my condition (EDS). What I appreciated most about Doctor Weathers, was his eager willingness to learn more about my condition in order to better treat my condition. Other Doctors that I visited were so arrogant about not knowing or ever hearing of my condition most of which were either quick to dismiss, not treat me, ignored my diagnosis all together, or simply passed (refered) me on to another equally Clueless Doctor. Then 5 years ago I had a seizure for the first time ever and I was subsequently diagnosed with Nocturnal Epilepsy, another slightly rare condition. I've also had multiple other health issues, both physical and neurological, and through all of this; Doctor Weathers has been very understanding, compassionate, and thorough with all treatments. Doctor Weathers is an excellent Family Physician. On numerous occasions, I have recommended him to my friends and family; and they were all pleased with him and ultimately Grateful for the referral.

My mother has been a patient there for years and deserved better treatment from a medical assistant. She is rude and very condescending on the phone and in person. My mother is wheelchair bound and we were like 10 minutes late to her appointment because it was hard to get her there. Dawn had the worse attitude the whole visit because we were late. There are more stories but I will leave it there. I can't believe she still has a job because I know she is probably mean to everyone.
