It's small, intimate, cozy, and homey. There's a fireplace and big leather sofas and chairs. There's stuffed animals, a small garden with a bench in the back (I used to water those plants!), and jigsaw puzzles for kids. You will get to know the librarians and staff here. There's story times and events for adults as well as kids. They really make it like a community center. I make sure to stop by whenever I visit my parents and I love saying hi to my old coworkers and seeing how the library is growing and changing. It's a great place to get movies, books, magazines, the daily newspaper, and use the WiFi, or their desktop computers and printers. They have less selection than the main library on Primrose near downtown, but the parking is free here and they have all the new DVDs and books and fewer library patrons come to the Easton Branch. The collection is managed by the San Mateo County Public Library system. Many recently published books. Not an extensive collection. Also books are not labeled with either the Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress catalogue system. Books are shelved by general groups. It almost feels more like a bookstore than a library! I feel like a dinosaur. The Burlingame Public Library is more like a traditional Carnegie library. Graceful old building (that was totally rebuilt after Loma Prieta earthquake) with oak furniture and leather upholstery. It also has older books in its collection.

There is a quiet room for studying if you want some privacy. Shared space with others. 3 tables in there. Power outlets available in wall. There is an outdoor space in the back, pretty clean with a few tables to read a book or do a group project. Especially the spacious & sunny outdoor space. It is very comfortable to take a book and just hang out here in the afternoon for an hour or too. There is also a community room / marker space in the back of the library. The room has a 3D printer & a sewing machine. It's also a very energy efficient and environmental friendly building. This is a very large library wherein every individual section is bigger than other libraries. They also have a fine selection of books in Chinese. For locals they have a great place where nice events are held at this branch. Bathrooms are well maintained although there were a few glitches with the men's room. Not sure what happened but it was pretty minor. Unlike my local library printing is free. Yes I get mine has like budget issues but like how this one is very well stocked. Would come here again if I could Drawback: On Saturdays, it can be rowdy here because there will be kids of all ages wandering around. Younger kids can and may make a lot of noise.
