I've been a crossfitter since 2008. I've been to good affiliates, I've been to bad affiliates, and…read moreeverything in between. Crossfit 1847 is hands down the best box I have ever trained in. Matt, the owner and head coach, monitors each client's progress over time and never allows shenanigans in his gym (well, maybe the fun ones). Whether you are far from your prime and looking to get back in shape, or if you're an aspiring Froning, Matt has a place for you in his gym. Like any affiliate, the cost is higher than you will pay at a Gold's. However, you get what you pay for. Crossfit can be the most expensive gym membership you hold, or it can be the best personal training for your buck, bar none. When I started training there, I wasn't pressured to lay down the plastic, and as a result I was happy to do so when the time came. This ain't an ad kids, feel free to come in any given afternoon and you'll see me training there. Meet Matt and some of the other 1847 denizens, and jump in a workout when you're ready. You'll be glad you did.

Best corssfit gym in the area. I Have been going here for over 6 months now and after hearing…read morefriends talk about how great crossfit is. I never though it would be for me but I am so glad that i finally gave it a try. After 6 months here I can say that I ahve never felt like I am in better shape. Plus the people here are all fantastic and supportive no matter what you fitness level is. Matt will work with you to learn what your fitness goals are and how to reach them. He takes the time to make sure every person in his box know what they are doing before letting them tackle any kind of lifts. He does a great job programming work out that build on Olympic lifts, conditioning and gymnastic skills.

The score is closer to a 3.5/4 star. Why? The owner/trainer know their stuff (3stars for now) and…read morethe personal attention (4 stars). The classes are intentionally small. There's an online sign up if you intend on attending class so they can ensure no more than X number of people will be in any one class. I thought I'd just sign up and attend classes and get thrown into the proverbial deep end of the pool. NOPE! These guys want to keep you safe and have you stop by for a training/orientation class. Then there's a 2 week On Ramp Class that eeducates you on the moves, names, expectations and so forth. Of course, if you've got prior CrossFit experience they move you along but it's nice to come in with a bunch of unexperienced people and learn together so you don't have to get all intimidated by what others know or do. The process of growth is left to your determination and involvement. There's a good mix of girls/guys in my class and in other classes. I tried it out to keep myself busy with domething different so I don't just stop working out completely and guess what... I intend on signing on for a longer period to work on my abs and arms. Will update more after my On-Ramp training process. SIdebar: we do a lot of squatting. It seems to be the bases of CF. idk. But my heiny is rock hard enough.
