My intention is not to criticize anyone personally, but to bring this matter to your attention so it can hopefully be addressed. This morning, I purchased two disposable vape products at Shaggy's Den Smoke Shop. I specifically asked whether they contained menthol, as I cannot use menthol-flavored products. I was assured they did not. However, when I opened them in my car, both had a distinct cooling/menthol flavor. A couple of hours later, I returned to the store and was told that exchanges or refunds were not allowed. I then purchased two additional products that the employee again stated were not menthol. I opened one in the store, took a single puff, and immediately noticed it was menthol as well. After looking up the product online--since the employee was unsure--it appeared that all varieties of that product include a cooling/menthol effect. I chose not to open the second one. Despite the circumstance, I was still not offered a refund--only a flavor exchange--which would not have solved the issue given that all options seem to contain menthol. This situation was extremely frustrating, especially as I was attempting to save money by waiting to purchase a full vape kit. Unfortunately, I ended up spending the same amount I would have spent on the device I originally wanted. By this point, I was very upset. My husband took me back to the same shop to purchase an actual vape kit, since it is something I use regularly. When I opened it at home, I discovered the box had no plastic seal, and the second coil, charger, and small accessory pieces were missing entirely. It appears the product had previously been opened or tampered with, yet I was sold it at full price. Overall, I left feeling extremely discouraged--not only because menthol makes me physically ill, but because the staff seemed unfamiliar with the products they were selling and provided incorrect information multiple times. Between the inaccurate product descriptions, lack of support when trying to resolve the issue, and the incomplete vape kit, the entire experience has been deeply disappointing. I wanted to make sure someone in a higher position was aware of what occurred. I hope this feedback can help improve training, product handling, and customer support going forward. Thank you for your time and attention.

The Toy Factory is a great little toy store in downtown Corvallis, with a variety for all ages --…read morestuffed animals, books, puzzles, games, and a variety of different building block toys (LEGO, Duplo, etc). A fun decor feature is their display of completed Playmobil sets on shelves around the perimeter of the north side of the store -- some of the sets our own grown offspring had as children. We found a few treasures to purchase, including a fun looking 1000 piece puzzle. The store staff were cordial and helpful, even if they were not going out of their way to greet everyone who came through the doors. One big plus for us, after walking around downtown Corvallis for a few hours, is they have public restrooms available! You have to ask for a key at the checkout counter, but the restrooms are very clean and well maintained; and for those with very small children, there are full-sized changing tables. We often find ourselves being sort of "restroom snobs" when it comes to shops and restaurants; but we find the condition of the bathroom is often an accurate indicator of the rest of the facility. Anyway, The Toy Factory is a wonderful little shop, and I highly recommend it.

When Steve and I were in Salem recently we had the primary purpose of going to a museum but it…read moredidn't open too early in the day so we had plenty of time to kill by seeing some of the other things that the town had to offer. We noticed that Salem had a public market and thought that would be a good way to get some local flavor and a good way to let the time pass up until the museum opened. This public market is not outside but instead inside a small building. Despite the size of the building there are a fair amount of local vendors that are in here. Some I really was impressed with. There was a guy that had us sample some of his homemade beef jerky that was very good, a plant vendor that sculpted air type plants into things making very cute dioramas with them. My favorite was a hand crafted soap vendor and I wound up buying several bars of soap from her. The fragrances were great and she made them very pleasing to the eye as well with fancy waves at one end on a bar of soap with hints of what looked like glitter. Very nice. This public market was unexpectedly fun and was a perfect morning stop to make!
