It would have been easy to tell me they were full and that I'd need to come back tomorrow. Instead, David listened to my story, took the keys and went to check it out. The battery tested fine, of course. He could have left it at that and sent me on my way. Instead, he looked around the battery and noticed what seemed to be a loose connection. As he thought about it, he noticed the battery was a bit askew. He came back in to tell me what was wrong and that he had ordered the replacement part to secure the battery and fix the connection. 20 minutes later, he handed me my keys, refusing to charge me a dime, and told me to have a good day. As I stood there incredulously, he said he thought they should have noticed it at my last visit, 2 months ago. Of course they should not have. It probably wasn't loose then. However, it is self effacing, compassionate and detailed service that sets Franklin apart from most businesses. It is why I tell everyone about them. In the end, it is why I keep going back.

Much more affordable than the dealer and I don't feel like I'm being taken advantage of as a woman. They handle a lot of the military's auto repair since they are located right near Maxwell Air Force Base. They work strictly from 7-5pm. I had heard from others that these guys were a great shop so I thought I would give them a try…read more Needed to drain and refill the transmission fluid on my truck as scheduled maintenance. It's an easy job, as long as you have a lift to easily get to the transmission pan underneath. Once there the guy tells me he doesn't know how do it, and I should go to a specialty shop to have it done. Ok, if you can't drain and refill ATF on a Chevy truck transmission (4L60E, literally the most popular transmission in GM history) you don't need to be advertising yourself as a mechanic shop. Maybe this guy is great at whatever he actually does know about working on automobiles, but you might want to call ahead and find out.
