TLDR: Corey the piercer was a 10/10 piercing experience, would recommend them any day. Shop was clean, safe practices used, and quality jewelry options for all budgets. I've been pierced many times before and after one bad college experience at a sketchy local tattoo/piercing shop, I strictly went to a piercing only shop. My partner and I both wanted a second nose piercing and I was nervous to switch from my usual location! I was nervous for no reason - Corey was even better than where I was going. They detailed all elements of their sanitation and told me what they were doing as they did it. They were helpful in selecting jewelry, helping me decide on piercing placement, accommodated my partner and I getting pierced back to back, and was able to review aftercare swiftly but thoroughly. They even helped me change out an existing nipple piercing into something that's much safer and more durable, making me feel safe and respected throughout that process. Not to mention, just a sweet and fun person - definitely someone you'll feel cool with while they put a new hole in your body. I thought I was done with piercings, but now I'm considering asking Corey to help me pick some new projects to start. After seeing the shop, would consider getting tatted there as well. The absolute best! I came to burning hearts to have my nose repierced after a bad experience at another establishment. The piercer at the time (Corey) was phenomenal - top tier professional and super friendly, knowledgeable etc. After the piercing I ordered a different style nose stud which had to be specially ordered. Throughout this process I spoke multiple times to Corey and even moreso Nick... to say they go above and beyond is an understatement. Their responsiveness, bright and kindly manner and willingness to work with my timeline was superb. Most recently, I had my nose stud changed out along with a lovely long chat with Nick (Corey has moved on to pursue her own path). You genuinely feel that Nick wants to be there with you. Additionally, I got a consult with Wes who will be doing my upcoming belly button tattoo (a celebration of my weight loss journey). Again - super professional and made me feel like he had all the time in the world and also that there were several possibilities in terms of tattoos during/after weightloss. After now having several interactions with Burning Hearts, trust me that there's no way you can go wrong with this effing awesome group of people!!! got my eyebrow pierced, a piercing removed & my septum stretched here & i LOVE it. the people i saw/talked to were all very friendly, very comfortable clean and cool environment. nicholas was the BEST not only did he make me very comfortable being there but he's really cool too. he also used they/them pronouns when referring to me which made me feel very safe being pierced by him since i'm non binary & he didn't even know i was. i trust him with my life tbh. everything is very sterile & they walk you through everything so you know what's going on & you know what jewelry you're getting & know it's completely safe. would give the studio a millions stars if i could haven't been able to stop gushing about how good my experience here was i got yelp simply to say how much i love this place read more

I had a phenomenal experience changing out and downsizing my nostril piercing with Nicholas and his apprentice. My piercing was done at another shop and to be honest I really regret not finding Nicholas as Burning Hearts first! He was professional, knowledgeable, and so friendly. He let me look through several different pieces of jewelry and took the time afterwards to help me plan out some future piercing placements. The shop was very clean and had a wonderful selection of high quality jewelry from brands like BVLA and Neometal. I was also impressed with their sterilization process. I will definitely be returning to Nicholas for all of my piercing needs moving forward. I have had the opportunity to work with both Corey and Nick for multiple piercings and cannot recommend both of them enough. They take the time to explain everything to ensure you're comfortable with both the procedure and aftercare. The studio is also one of the cleanest I've ever seen with pretty regimented protocols for sterility of the tools they use. Also great selection of jewelry. I have also had 2 tattoos done by Wes and cannot recommend him enough. Artistically he is super talented with his work and I have received countless compliments on his work. Was looking for a spot to get a helix piercing around New Haven... found burning hearts and booked an appointment online. It was super easy. They also had a very clear mask policy on their site and instructions for the appointment. All of the staff is super friendly and Nicholas the Geezer is the MAN. He and his apprentice were so accommodating and patient and not judgey at all. Nick took his time to make sure everything was just right... before ever touching a needle. I went in for a dermal piercing removal. As nervous as I was, Nick made sure to make the entire situation as comfortable, as clean and quick as possible. Burning Hearts is one of the best places you could get tattooed in CT. This shop is great for the already heavily tattooed or the person coming in for their first one. Its a very welcoming environment with none of the "tattitude" you'll get at a lot of other shops. I got pierced by Corey today! The whole piercing experience went well and they were very friendly throughout the whole process. Everything was super clean and sterile! I had the best experience with Corey at Burning Hearts! I had to have an MRI last minute, and Corey was able to put retainers in all my piercings for me last minute, day of! They are very meticulous with sterilization and super friendly. They were very gentle and did their very best to make sure I was not experiencing any discomfort. I went to get my ears re-pierced by Nicholas this past weekend. He was super friendly and answered all of my questions about aftercare. They have high quality earrings there to buy so you aren't forced to wear basic boring earrings until everything heals. The shop is really nice and clean.
