The store is well known in Sheffield and further afield, and its reputation speaks for itself. It's won quite a few high profile awards, and has been in Sheffield since 2000. There is also an online store that I have reviewed separately, but it quite useful as new brands get added right away, allowing me to check it before I go into town to visit the store. A cut above the rest really, and I end up going in far too often and spending too much!

There is no parking for the shop but there is a Pay and Display car part down the side road of the building. I would say that Greenwoods Menswear is aimed at more distinguished men with ranges in day, formal and office wear. As a family we have Hired suits for two weddings where my husband was Best Man and required top hats and tails. Not only where the suits of excellent quality and a reasonable price but fit well too.

My daughter came with us and they even had toys for her to play with, and my mum got all comfy with her feet up on the sofas! The staff are lovely, really friendly and down to earth, AND they go out of their way to make you feel special they actually gave us the service we wanted, unlike all the other places I had been to that were shocking and made me feel awful! I found the gown of my dreams straight away, and then they helped me match up the bridesmaids gowns and all the men's suits too! Just a shame they cant come and help me choose all the other things. :-) My experience with fittings and alterations since my gown arrived has been perfect because they have always accommodated around my working hours, and I even got the most stunning tiara and veil to go with the gown at my first try on. I would say I think the whole experience with them has been fantastic from start to finish, and I cant wait to collect my gowns from them soon for the big day! I'm sending all my friends there..in fact, some have already been in! We always have a good giggle with the staff when we go in, and they always know us when we walk through the door. I've never been married before, so I never knew what to expect, but after this shop has helped me from the start (even with giving me helpful details about what will happen on the run up to the wedding, and what service they provide throughout), well, I will certainly be going back there for the next gown when I get to renew my vows!.I wonder how long I've got to wait!! :-)
A good place to try on lots of dresses and grab a bargain!…read more This is a warehouse style wedding dress shop. You don't need an appointment, just turn up when they are open and ring the bell. You are given 4 rings and simply put them around the hangers of the dresses you like. You can then try on those 4 before going back out to choose another 4. The dresses are samples from shops so they generally only have 1 in each size and when they sell they are gone so be aware of this if you fall in love with one! It was moderately busy for 1130 on a Saturday. We got a changing room straight away though. One of the assistants helps you out when you get changed then she kindly suggested some dresses she thought would suit me as well and went to get them. They had some stunning things in my size. You are possibly a size bigger than normal here so beware when choosing! I could have happily bought 2 of the ones I tried on. The lady also helped me try on matching veils. Again I can't wait to go back and try on more dresses here.

In addition the charges for extra altrations were a waste of money as nothing actually changed! the day before the wedding i had to get someone else to do it. All in all a nice shop but they've got real problems with consistency in alterations and quality issues with there suppliers. I've heard some good reviews for this place too so there is obvious inconsistency with service but would you risk it for your wedding day? my day went great but in the back of my mind i always had the dissapointment that my dress wasnt how it should have been.

Broughton Shoe Warehouse always has lots of nice designs that fit the bill! Their shoes are modern, well made, extremely comfortable (most with cushioned soles) and, best of all, they are very cheap! Tiny, adorable wedding dress shop where they hand make the dresses!…read more During a day of intense wedding dress shopping this newish shop in Sale was recommended to us by another shop in Didsbury. We turned up without an appointment and they kindly squeezed us in. There is a smaller choice of dresses than a lot of other places but they are all gorgeous. The inside reminded me of Alice in Wonderland with lovely furniture and accessories everywhere. The lady who owns it makes the dresses and I was so happy and excited to see the 'made in manchester' tags on everything. They also have some really lovely shoes, veils and vintage style headbands to choose from. I tried on about 5 dresses and they were all lovely. They literally make the dress to tie measurements rather than you ordering a size and getting it adjusted. The prices are average for wedding dresses (£1200-1400 for the one I liked). The lead time is around 5,5 months at the moment to get a dress made. The lady who helped us was so friendly and really made the experience wonderful. I can't sit to go with a proper appointment to try on more dresses.

They sell high quality shoes such as Nike and Caterpillar. There is a huge (and quite cheap) selection of shoes and bags throughout the store and the shoes are set out into specific sections: women's, men's and children's. The variety in this shop is brilliant and i have never seen this brand of store anywhere else. The shoes which are usually branded with big names, copies of branded shoes at cheap prices or essentials are more than fairly priced and the quality is pretty good. It can be quite difficult to reach a pair of shoes if they are on the top shelf for example and you have to ask a member of staff to help you. The staff are really nice and helpful and all seem to be women. They also like a chat too. If you're looking for some cheap shoes or any shoes in general, i recommend looking in here, you will more than likely find something appealing to you.
