The person that did show up was rude, intrusive during the ceremony, turned up an hour early, and then charged us an additional fee to stay for the last hour of the contract. We were deceived and treated very poorly. It makes no difference the quality of the work; the attitudes, of the photographer and the person that created our final wedding album, were appalling and it was extraordinarily unpleasant to have to be in the same room with them. Absolutely everyone deserves better! You would be really only slightly worse off to hire your friend to bring their phone to shoot your event. We submitted a detailed shot list in advance, which the lead photographer, Lena, admitted she barely glanced at and chose to ignore. Important, personal photos we requested were completely missed--and somehow, we were blamed. Even though she admitted fault, we were told timelines were the issue. There was no accountability, and no apology. The video team missed a key moment from our reception and gave us a rushed trailer with mismatched music. When we flagged the errors (that should've been caught with a basic review), we were told we'd have to wait two more months for a revision. Absurd. We were constantly following up on every piece of this process--Photoshop edits, album corrections, video revisions. There was no quality control, no urgency, and we were the ones catching their mistakes over and over again. We even drove out to meet with them in person to get things resolved. Jovon, the owner, made a lot of promises--that we'd be made a priority, that things would be expedited. But afterward? Nothing. He called once, said he'd follow up, and then disappeared. No resolution, no genuine accountability. The admin, Lisa, was rigid with her limited schedule and not helpful when trying to coordinate team meetings. The editing team was sweet and you could tell they really cared to make us happy, but clearly inexperienced--we had to walk them through multiple corrections on video calls they'd never done before. For the price we paid, this lack of professionalism was shocking. The only bright spot was Carlos, their lead videographer. He was kind, positive, and tried his best--but unfortunately, his efforts were drowned out by the team's carelessness. In the end, we did get our final photos and videos only because we spent countless personal hours managing their process, reviewing everything ourselves, and doing the job they should have been doing. We really hate writing a review like this--especially about a family-owned business--but we gave them so many chances to make it right, and they just didn't care enough. If you're considering Jovon Photography: they will treat you like a priority until your wedding is over. After that, you'll be chasing them for months, fixing their mistakes, and left heartbroken by how little care is given to your most important memories.

She answered all of my questions and asked all the right questions. I told her that I would be including both my husband son in the shoot and she asked for information about them as well. When we met in person it was a very pleasant, comfortable and fun experience for all of us. She had many ideas and she was very flexible and open to anything that I wanted to tweek. She's also really good with kids. She let my 5 year old son "help her" with the lighting and he was thrilled! I like that Sandra is very down to earth and it comes off as that she sees us as people who she is trying to capture, you know sometimes when you get the feeling that you are objects to someone who is just going through the motion? Sandra comes off as very attentive, a listener and she really tries hard to find out what we are looking for and make sure we get what we need. She kept good communication throughout the session, and worked with us to come up with unique ideas that reflects what we had in mind as far as how we want the photo session to reflect who we are. We are both creative spirits so it's important that the photos reflect the fun, light-hearted and playful aspect of our relationship, Sandra was perceptive of our personalities and she made recommendations that incorporate what we requested and what she knows will work well to photograph. My sweety really wanted some waterfall shots so Sandra worked with us to come up with pictures with waterfall in the background. she did some great photoshop afterward as well to further enhance the artistic effect of the photos. " of course she is then a little sad that she is fighting with her man, but they made up again and I joke that they need to have some photograph taken so they feel all mushy and good inside as well. Let me start off by saying that I should have done more research on this woman before hand,…read morehowever, I had a month to plan my wedding and this is what happens when you plan last minute: some things turn out nice and some don't. This is one of the latter... It's been a little over 2 years since this happened, but I remember it vividly, and have always meant to write review... well I finally got to it now lol. First, while we did take just a 3 hour wedding package, that does not mean that the job should be in anyway ill-treated or rushed. Well it felt very rushed, and very half-a$$ed. She had no sense of angles, or artistic sense towards my photos. At least none that were apparent in the photos. I literally (and luckily) had better pictures taken by a guest at the wedding (and for free). Not only was she rushed, but we had to give her all of the ideas for the pictures!! On top of the stress we already had! She never took a picture of me alone with my dress or my husband alone. that saddens me, since it was my wedding! To boot, she took just 1 picture at my reception, only because I begged. Mind you, when we first arrived to the city hall, we were busy with paperwork issues, and didn't take any pictures for the 1st hour, so technically she only worked for 2 hours...at a whopping $600, which she demanded we pay in full right there in my reception!! Since I was just married and in a good mood and all I made the mistake of handing her the money... Then we had to wait...and wait....and wait some more...until we were finally able to reach her. She mad some excuse that she couldn't meet us, and gave our picture CD to her doorman!!! WTF! Since I was leaving abroad, I didn't have time to do anything about it at the time, but really who does that?! She couldn't even give us the courtesy to face us! Anyhow, I took the CD home and when I viewed it, I was disgusted. The pictures were RAW, she didn't even take time to correct flaws, such as red eye, or ill lighting....something that can easily be done from any home computer in a matter of minutes!!!! Out of roughly 200 photos, there were maybe 10 (being kind here) that were nice enough to re-touch and fix (which I had to do). I don't know how she handles her other work, but I would definitely NOT recommend her for WEDDING Photography.

I also cringe at the standard posed wedding photography and knew right off the bat that it would be a mission to find a wedding photographer that would be up for the challenge. So if you're like me, you may dread the thought of choosing a wedding photographer. It was by chance that I came across CMP's photographs while browsing on Pinterest. They immediately caught my eye; they were editorial, intimate and full of personality. Bottom line - stunning. Fortunately CMP had one photographer available for our date -- Danny. We lucked out because he is not only extremely talented in his craft, but also a total gem of a person. The photographs from our engagement shoot (WHICH COMES WITH YOUR PACKAGE AND IS AN AMAZING BENEFIT OF CMP'S SERVICES) made it immediately clear that Danny has a superb eye and was able to capture our personality as a couple. They had the aesthetic we were going for, more light and airy, and their book was gorgeous. We had our engagement photos with them at Skyland Manor and I was so blown away. We are super traditional and did not want a first look, they definitely tried to sway us into one, but understood in the end and left us alone about the decision, lol. I am very very thrilled about my photos and I am so excited to post them here. They were very quick which I appreciated as we wanted to get to our cocktail hour. There is also not a single photo I dislike, genuinely. Luis was our photographer and he also did our engagement shoot so we were already very comfortable with him. He has a dry sense of humor which I enjoyed, and we had no issues feeling comfortable with him and posing, etc. He also knew I didn't want a ton go group shots because we had a massive bridal party and again, that cocktail hour was calling our name, lol! I love getting photos taken, but my fiancé, now husband, is not a natural at all, but having had the engagement shoot behind us, he was relaxed and comfortable, and i think the photos look really natural and showcase us so well! They also caught a lot of the details I worked so hard on, which was a huge plus for me as a DIY bride without a planner. She was very flexible with all of our requests and clear about what we can expect within our price range. We were able to book our shoot just 10 days after the initial meeting! On the day of the shoot Luiza arrived early, with all the necessary equipment and most importantly an awesome attitude. She remained professional and was very caring with our dogs, which made them feel super comfortable. She didn't even mind all the jumping and some gentle nibbles :). We were very impressed with how she handled them, which in return made US feel sooo much more comfortable. We both had such a blast! We will definitely use her services again. Knows everything about making a perfect picture, trust me on that! The whole shoot lasted about 2 hours, and pretty much visited the whole Central Park! She is very well equipped, knows everything about angles, light and time when to take a picture! Yes, that's important! We received our pictures within a week after the shoot, professionally edited!!! I will tell you this, when we will be getting married, Luiza will be the first person I will book!!!
