Great service with excellent, dedicated staff very much in focus to avoid damages. Ken Bushnell even provided boxes and heavy duty wrapping papers so we could do the initial box if of all our household items. They arrived the day before the big move to "prep" everything with protective blankets and picture boxes so everything was staged for the following day to load and move. It was an 11-12 hour day but staff never slacked off and was continually moving quickly to complete the move. Price was very fair too! read more

I had about one room worth of stuff to move to a storage unit. I sought 3 bids. 2 came out and one could not be bothered to look at the stuff. Only one left a card and a written estimate. That was Bushnell. Ken was personable, friendly, and easy to work with. His estimate was comparable with the others but he gave a discount for cash. The work was scheduled for this morning. Both times, Ken Bushnell and his team did an outstanding job. I highly recommend them. The owner, Ken, answers most calls for bids. His teams have been with him for many years and they are not only professional and courteous, they know the "ins and outs" of moving. His team wrapped all of my furniture and accessories and expertly packed them into the truck. Upon arrival, not only did Bushnell carefully unload my property, they unwrapped all of the pieces and carefully reassembled any piece that had been altered for easier moving (shelves back into bookcases, etc.). These movers are awesome and I highly recommend them! The owner, Ken, is honest, friendly and professional. And unlike many of the other companies, he comes out to your house to evaluate and give an accurate, competitive bid. On moving day, our 4 movers showed up on-time and were all so nice, helpful, and careful with our things. They were so delightful they actually made moving fun and not stressful. The house we moved out of was very challenging with stairs and a steep driveway, but they managed it all beautifully and with positive attitudes. Mr. Bushnell is nice when you first meet him. But after he's gotten your business, it's all downhill from there. He said he'll send his packer one day before loading. He has the slowest packer I've ever experienced. Believe me, I've moved a number of times and I now know who's good, who's lazy, who's cutting corners, etc. Would you believe I even had to help the packer pack! And all he had to do was the kitchen and the artwork on the walls! Real slow and we were paying by the hour. On the second day, when our stuff is being loaded on the truck, the moving men were not the hustlers I am accustomed to seeing back east, people who work hard and come on time. These guys wanted to leave early so "we can return the truck to the lot," which means they wanted us to pay them for traveling time. Worse, they left furniture in one of the rooms and until we told them about it, they would not have known. The other issue was that Mr. Bushnell told us that he will not charge us more than 25% of the estimated quote but he did. When we complained, he did reduce it. It made me think he was plucking numbers out of the air. I would never ever recommend this company. For a local move of a few miles, look elsewhere. Stay away! read more

We recently used Bushnell Movers to move our household from SB to T.O. Ken & his team we're awesome. They showed up on time and were real pros. Ken's crew have been with him for a while (years) and it showed. They worked flawlessly together. In fact a neighbor mentioned how they just flowed and had it down and well organized. Furniture was wrapped and protected. Floors were protected with moving blankets. When the crew said they were going to leave to take 30 minute lunch beak it was exactly that. In fact they were back 5 minutes early and continued with the task at hand. But, where Ken and his crew really shine is they rescued us at the last minute with very short notice. The day after Ken moved us, we got a call that our rental pod could not be picked up because it was way too heavy and that at least half of it needed to be unloaded. In a panic I called Ken for help. Our house sold and we had to get the pod unloaded and moved. Ken called his crew (many coming from up north) and within 2 hrs they were at the house along with two 16' moving trucks and unloaded the pod that was filled to the brim. Thank you, Ken and crew. PS. Ken worked with our schedule and agreed to load up his van on a Saturday, keep it safely overnight, and then leave early Sunday morning for San Jose so that I could caravan up with him to our new storage unit in San Jose. Do not use!!! Beware!!!! Made appointment to pick up furniture in LA at 2pm on Sunday and move to back to Montecito. My wife hired babysitters, drove to LA to meet movers, only to find out truck "had transmission problems", appointment moved to 4pm. At 3pm we call to confirm 4pm and now he says 7pm. Wouldn't get back to our kids in Montecito until after 10pm (if he actually ever showed up) so we told him not to bother and our trip to LA and our Sunday was a total waste. I absolutely, 100% recommend Bushnell Moving. My point of contact throughout this process was Ken Bushnell of the eponymous company, and he was always open to my questions, concerns, and phone calls. I contacted Ken Bushnell for a long-distance move, from Santa Barbara to San Francisco, with a stop in Sunnyvale to pick up a mattress. I called other movers - from the national carriers to another mom and pop operation - and Bushnell's quoted price was the best. Because of the 300 mile distance, Ken came up with the brilliant idea of loading my stuff onto his truck at 6 PM before the day of departure, so I could get settled into the city on the actual day of moving. He personally showed up on the loading day, to manage his men and to finalize all of the paperwork. Again, I can't emphasize how courteous and careful he was, and I even saw him stuff a box with my HDTV with paper, because he was afraid that the cardboard might scratch the screen. This gesture epitomizes the level of attention to detail and care for other people's property that Bushnell Moving strives to achieve. On the day of the move, Ken Bushnell put me in the hands of his go-to guys, Joe and Travis, whom I highly recommend. Travis was quiet and unassuming and that's because he was focused on doing a fast and helpful job. Joe, on the other hand, was hilarious in telling me about his band and his experience working at Bushnell Moving. Joe and Travis left promptly at 7 AM as promised and stayed completely on schedule. At the final destination, Joe and Travis made sure to elicit my opinion about where I wanted the big pieces of furniture placed in a certain room. They made the move stress-free and painless in a time when changing jobs and apartments could have led to endless headaches on my part. I was a little low on cash, so I as only able to tip them $25 each, and Joe commented that they don't expect tips, but they very much appreciate it. All in all, I can't stop gushing over the high quality of professionalism and courtesy that Ken and his guys Joe and Travis embody. He offered a packer could come ahead of time and this was a great idea. Dickie packed the kitchen and pantry beforehand, so moving day went much faster. Joe, Barry and Armando were our movers on move day, and everything went very smoothly. They were there on time, efficient, friendly, and completed the move with no damage or lost items. We love these guys. We have a three person home and it was a nice hour move split in two days. Dennis and Travis moved us first day and Travis and Travis moved us the second day. Not a criticism one. They are so friendly, Ken treats his moving staff like family. Took care of our stuff and didn't scratch one wall, the two Travis's (there's three, and we also have a dog named Travis), but anyway, they were top notch. Dennis has been there a very long time and even fought off some black widows. Has just a can do attitude and made me feel so well cared for, it was just me alone so they cared for me as gentleman should. Their truck was sooo organized! The one Travis was so gentle and kind and the other was really good at helping us redesign our empty new home. Like he really digs homes! They had extra supplies like floor runners and wardrobe boxes to borrow, they wrapped everything so well, i mean our stuff is just stuff, but they really care. Ken and his crew are THE BEST. We recently moved from Santa Barbara to Santa Rosa. Bushnell helped us load our 26 foot Uhaul truck (four bed, two bath capacity) in a little under five hours. I had done a lot of prep beforehand (boxed everything up, taken apart all furniture etc...), so this time may be less than average. I received several other estimates from local movers, who in hindsight were out to gouge me. Ken and his crew expertly packed the truck and were able to fit all of our stuff into a 26' truck. The other companies in town said we'd need two trucks or a dedicated 48' semi truck. Bushnell was able to get it all in, everything was excellently wrapped in furniture pads, securely packed, large furniture tied down, and nothing shifted or was damaged during the drive. They were everything we were hoping for: strong, steady, good communicators, delicate with our valuables, and patient. I'd give them my top recommendation and would use them again in a heartbeat! It's not very easy to find the right mover. More often than not it can turn out to be a battle between budget, schedule, and attitude, to name a few things. After searching through at least 10 to 15 movers in the Santa Barbara area with just moderate success, a neighbor of ours highly recommend Bushnell Moving for our move to San Diego. Because we trusted our neighbor, we gave them a call. Immediately after speaking with the owner on the phone, we were struck with how honest and down to earth Ken was, so we decided to have him come out for an estimate. He was thorough, very detail oriented, friendly, prompt, patient, understanding, and most importantly was truly attentive to our needs. Ken is not a front man who comes out with a sales pitch, he really knows his business, and he delivers on everything he states. This attitude and approach to moving and caring about his clients is not limited to just the owner, the whole crew are honest, incredibly fast, easy going, very careful and mindful of your belongings. When they arrived they immediately introduced themselves and starting working. They began by covering the door and door frame and the entrance to protect it from the possibility of damage. They carefully wrapped, blanketed, bagged, and secured all of our furniture, beds, etc getting it right the first time. They set up huge wardrobe boxes and carefully packed our closets. When it comes to being quick and efficient and caring about your belongings, the crew at Bushnell are second to none. It's really important to note that the estimate for our move was quite competitive and very fair. I have no idea why this company isn't the number one moving company for Santa Barbara. I called the first three companies listed on yelp but none of them would pick up one day and deliver the next. I know a lot of people who rent have to do this procedure so I don't know why more companies don't offer it. They were professional and great guys to work with. I feel terrible it took me 4 months to post this, but better late than never! I hired Bushnell Moving to help move my two bedroom home from Santa Barbara to Newport Beach.
