    With Mother's Day around the corner and the lockdown going on, trusting others with gifts is a gamble. We live across the country from my MIL but we wanted to make sure she was remembered on Mother's Day. Due to limited and unreliable inventory thanks to the pandemic, the website suggested we go with the "Daily Special" and allow the florist to create an arrangement for us, using the best in stock. Not going to lie, we were nervous a bouquet of baby's breath and carnations was going to be delivered, but we took the risk and the gamble paid off. The bouquet that was delivered (wonderfully early in the day, no less) was just beautiful! The explosion of pink and interesting flowers was amazing. We were so relieved and happy with what they created. We will definitely be ordering again the in future. Thank you, B&R, for making this holiday feel a little more normal in these crazy times!

Spring of 2019 Steve…read morecreated a landscape design surrounding our home and detached garage to be completed after our deck and surrounding fence were completed. Long story short, their was a delay in completing the job. Wrong color of fence arrived, deck finished late in the summer and I decided to wait until spring of 2020. As soon as we were allowed out of quarantine I called Tholens in Kankakee to get a completed estimate and arrange for work to begin. I stopped by to speak with Steve, a gentleman went to get him and 30 minutes later, I am still waiting and no Steve. Even the girl at the counter seemed clueless but didn't offer to remind him I was waiting. I called for an appointment and was told I didn't need one, he was there 6 days a week. So I dropped by as suggested and spoke to his wife, went through the plans and discussed color. Steve was to return my call with the estimate. Didn't hear from him and called the following Monday. Still no estimate (even though the design was complete dimensions and all). I have done similar estimates, just sit down for 30 minutes with a pencil and calculator. I was told they were very busy, I asked should I call the following Monday(week later) and was told yes. I called 3 more times and was pretty much ghosted. I feel like they were trying to humiliate me, because that's how I feel. I don't need to be told yes, I just want the truth. A good business design: don't tell people you are too busy it's insulting. call back so they can move on, let the customers know you can't do the work this season or ever for that matter and you won't get a bad review on yelp. ps....this was a significant job
