I've been driving by this place for years and finally I stopped in just because it was there. This is a neighborhood dive bar that doesn't pretend to be anything but what it is. It's very dim and the bar itself seats about 20. THE GOOD- * Nice parking lot to the left and back of the building. Much better than street parking. * Vivacious and attentive bartender. * Cheap drinks. THE BAD- * Don't come here for craft beers. Beers here are mostly cheap domestics and meant to be guzzled. * And unbelievably foul mouthed crowd. I quickly tired of f**k and s**t from multiple patrons every other sentence. THE UGLY- * This is one of the few SMOKING bars remaining in PA! You can smell it from outside. I returned home, stripped and tossed everything in the wash. So what would it take to entice me to return? Victoria's Secret models as bartenders dressed like the commercials might do it but I'd need to think about it!

Place can be intimidating with all the animals in there having a good time and blasting music but the bartender Sean was very cool and made us feel welcomed. Bathrooms and facilities were very clean. Met a local named Bizarro Miyagi, he was like a god in that place. It was fun getting to know him. We still talk about how great that place is. Way better than Casey's. Right up the hill in Drexel Hill Bo!!!

While a change in ownership occurred recently, the new team has wisely kept the "time capsule" vibe intact--think dark wood, dim lighting, and a total lack of pretension. The kitchen doesn't try to reinvent the wheel, and that's exactly why people love it. The Burgers: Often cited as some of the best in the area, these are classic, juicy bar burgers. They recently introduced a "smash burger" style that has been winning over even the most stubborn regulars. The Cheesesteaks: You won't find any touristy gimmicks here. These are authentic, local-style cheesesteaks--perfectly chopped meat, plenty of cheese, and served on a roll that actually holds up to the grease. This is a Philly sports bar to its core. The walls are adorned with years of sports memorabilia, and when the Eagles are playing, the atmosphere is electric. It's the neighborhood's unofficial living room for Sunday games. You'll find multi-generational fans shouting at the TVs, cold domestic drafts in hand, and a level of camaraderie that you only get in a place that's been around for 90+ years.

I went to a business meeting in the back of this bar because I was looking for a non-descript area to hang out. I was blown away by the quality of the bartending and food service. I ordered a whiskey sour and it was made to specification, including whipped egg whites. The old-fashioned included crushed quality cherries with the classic, full single cube of ice. Gabby, the bartender, may be one of the main lines' most hidden secrets!
