Great family-owned Irish pub! I've always had a good experience there and I try to stop by whenever I'm in the area.

Nice neighborhood pub on the bigger side where the dining is in the next room away from the bar. I don't know if it was a slow Saturday night or not but the bar was not loud nor intrusive to the dining room. I like the fact that you could just walk in and sit anywhere in the dining room and as soon as someone sees you they rush up to give you a menu and see what you want to drink. As I was sipping my Yeungling while waiting for my entrée of shepherds pie I did notice a cigarette smell and looked over into the bar and could see that they allow smoking. To be fair, if you serve food in Pennsylvania at the bar it is legal to allow smoking. This is just a PSA to the non-smokers out there to know that if you go here to dine in, it's not disgusting or heavy but it is apparent. My pint of beer was cold and inexpensive. My Shepherd's pie was pretty standard SP with the exception of having an enormous amount of peas in it. The ratio of peas to potato and carrot pieces was about 20 to 1. Hopefully this isn't the norm but maybe just a heavy hand tonight. When I got my bill I was shocked at how inexpensive my dinner of shepherds pie, a pint of Yeungling and a large Pepsi was at $17.11. Nice big open bright neighborhood bar. They DO ALLOW smoking and most people took advantage of this. They have a restaurant side. Nice big cheesesteak. I don't know if it was the crowd, noise or smoke but I think the cheesesteak needed a little more flavor. Decent ratios but could have used a little more meat. Roll, mushrooms, fried onions, lettuce and tomatoes were plentiful and fresh. Carole got the Fish and Chips and they were very tasty. read more

I stopped in a few minutes ago (Sunday 1:45 PM). Sat at the bar and a cute blonde bartender acknowledged me and said she would be right with me. So far, so good. She proceeded to fill other customers drink orders. Now another customer comes in and she proceeds to immediately fill his order and ignores me. THAT DRIVES ME CRAZY! I'm not a problem customer. I'm just a guy waiting for a drink. So what will I do? First, I will visit again if it's my only choice other than a root canal! Second, I know dozens of people in the area and I will make it my mission to tell them about the unbelievably bad service! Message to the management- Get your act together! read more

I almost never review bars. This is a dive bar. Lots of Irish.!! Immigrants from the Emerald Isle . Including the best bartenders. The know how to pour a beer. Hold a conversation and kick someone's ass who gets out of control. They have excellent cheese steaks, great fries. The hoagies are really good too. I used to live close by when I was young a million years ago but its like going home each time I visit. If your in your way to the Tower for a show. Stop here before or after. And if you want to get your drink on, I can't think of a better place to do so. read more

So I came to this place after the work meeting with a friend... it was a nice place place though thinly staffed with a pregnant waitress. She was serving the whole place on thursday night. I went for the classic philly cheese steak with onion rings and chili. This place is great. Great service. I wish they would add a little more beer selection to their cooler. The bathroom could also use an overhaul. Other than that one of the better bars around. They'd probably do well to update their bathrooms at some point, thats the main problem area. read more

This review may come off biased since I am a local, however I always get excited when the gang says we are going to Cawley's. Their food is amazing, my recommendations would be the cheese steaks, or wings! The draft and bottled beer selection is also great, they do a great job of keeping the seasonal selection revolving, and yes ladies... They keep white claws in stock! However last night I couldn't help but notice that the bartenders Bill and Marissa worked their asses off to make sure that a Crowded bar was kept served in a timely manner. Everyone there last night had a great time and I would definitely recommend this fine establishment to any local or visitor! read more

I cannot say one thing bad about Cawley's. You would not believe the taste and quality of their food. The cooks, bar staff (especially James) are super friendly & know your name after your first visit. Their wings are the best in Delaware County, hands down. Another favorite: French Dip sandwich made with Prime Rib and Sharp Provolone Cheese. I visit at least once a week over the past couple years. You will not be disappointed! read more

Solid traditional Irish pub, the owner is from county Mayo so many Irish frequent the bar. It has a decent selection of beer, and pretty solid food. I will rate this 5 star because in comparison to the other bars in Upper Darby, this is definitely one of the only ones I would dare step into. been going to cawleys since i was little for the food then i started drinking in there. good neighborhood bar. GET THE WINGS!!!!!!!!! also get the buffalo chicken fries!! the only thing - if you pay with a card - they will put a 30$ charge hold on your account. i just was there and realized this. its also a smoking bar. read more

Nice bar to chill at to watch the game or get some good bar food. For the most part the staff is pretty cool, and occasionally the owner comes in a gives everyone at the bar a drink token. Prices are pretty good and they always have cheap beer specials during games. read more

The food is so so, the booths are broken. The bathrooms look like a gas station. I've seen roaches. The smoke travels from the bar side to the restaurant side. The waitresses are rude. The owner doesnt greet new or returning customers also dont post a review on facebook because their friends will harass you. read more

The Ribs are great. I also enjoy the stuffed Mushrooms when I'm not eating the Cheese Burger Sliders while washing it down with a nice Draft Beer. Not to forget the Wednesday night Poker Tournament. And they do have 8-9 TV's for your sports fix. read more

Drinks and food at reasonable prices. Great neighborhood place. If you come often you'll get to know the bartenders and regulars, which really adds to the experience. New to the area,I discovered my roots at this local tavern.. Wait tavern yes not only is this a great bar to grab a drink with friends,but also an amazing place to grab an amazing authentic bite to eat.
