Ms. Hana took COVID safety very seriously and took all the measures to make sure that the learning environment was also a safe place as well which was also a top priority for us. It was going to be his first time in a structured school setting so I really appreciated the smaller class size and student to teacher ratio because I felt like he was able to receive a more individualized curriculum and he was met at his academic level. When my son first started, he had very basic knowledge of his letters and sounds, but now we are almost to the end of our first year and he is reading simple sentences. He comes home excited to tell me what he has learned and about all his friends at school! I am so impressed with how much he has learned and grown thanks to Ms. Hana. Although we will be moving on next year to kindergarten, we are so happy that our son was able to get a good foundation for this upcoming school year!

My daughter has grown so much during her time here into very sweet, talkative, helpful. Ms. Hana plans thoughtful activities for the kids all the time and is a very responsive director. She takes the time to get to know every child very well. I love that this school is smaller which affords the kids more personalized care as well as bring a "family like" feeling between parents, teachers, and children. My most favorite part is, I really enjoy receiving a art works, worksheets, home report and occasional pictures of my child. We have been very happy at MMPS. It is a gem of a school within affluent North Potomac/Rockville with still very reasonable rates relative to other preschool.

The stellar education; the warm, welcoming, diverse personnel; the beautiful facility; the high standards: This school exemplifies excellence. Responsive, flexible, accountable, professional, superior. In my experience, it is a rare situation when I can use all of these words to describe any establishment, let alone a school. You want the best for your child. You have found it. Schedule a tour at Primary Montessori to confirm what I have said. It is the end of the road for our family, but it could be the beginning of a wonderful journey for yours. Best wishes to you on your search.

The environment was amazing, it prioritized learning and the safety of the children over else. I appreciate the dedication to the enjoyment and safety of the children, as well as learning. I've been a student here, and going to this school gave me a huge jump start to my educational career. I was levels above my peers when I entered public school after my graduation, I was placed in the advanced classes and got high scores in every subject. I was leagues above my peers, and it was helpful in the future. It's an amazing school, and if you still don't believe me, try taking a tour that they offer at the beginning of the year. 5/5 for me.

It was discovered that company had known for a long time that the school would have to close (bc so many families left due to unaddressed safety issues that enrollment was too low to continue operation). But, Metro hid this from everyone until mid-July. By that time, many other schools were full, primary positions for teachers were already full, etc. We literally only had days to find a replacement school placement. This company doesn't care about your kids - they just want your money. Think twice before giving it to them!

I want to start by saying that this school will not discuss tuition rates until after you've been on a 1 hour tour of the facility. This bugged me something serious. I feel like it is a complete waste of my time to take a one hour tour just to find out what the tuition is, only to find out that it is beyond our reach. I had to arrange childcare for my other children, so the whole experience was so inconvenient. While I loved what I saw, the simple fact is that we have a budget, and if the school is beyond that budget (which it was!), I simply will not enroll my child. I understand why they do what they do...they want to show you why they are superior to other programs. But again, if I can't afford it, I can't afford it. I really wish they would be more transparent about tuition. The school is beautiful, clean, and the grounds are amazing. The program/curriculum is wonderful. The teachers clearly have control of the classrooms and the children were very well behaved. I love that they spend so much time outside exploring. The only thing that put me off is that the tour guide (Wendy) talked so much about the accomplishments of former FMS students (I.e. Harvard graduate, playing Bach on the piano at 4 years old, etc)...I hardly think that they can take credit for those accomplishments. There is a LOT that goes into achieving things so great, and a few years in preschool is only a small fraction of it. The speech seemed a little like a sales pitch and she lost me a bit. She really didn't need to add those tidbits to sell me on the school. The school sells itself. Anyway, I attached the current tuition rates so you can decide if the tuition is within your budget before you waste an hour on the tour.

My kids (7 year boy, 6 year girl) have been going there for the last 3 years. Initially, it was not my idea or desire for them to go here due to budget (we will be paying this bill off a few years after they have moved on!), but I'm glad their mother insisted. I'm certain Montgomery County schools couldn't have produced half the results and god only knows what kind of garbage would have tainted my children's innocence at any number of MoCo's schools! I wouldn't say AoC is conservative, yet I wouldn't categorize them as liberal either. Again, a perfect balance. You are welcome to share your a faith and discuss it, but they certainly introduce science in its entirety and don't promote any particular religion. They are balanced in all subjects, and are very quick to pin-point natural deficits of each student and focus on these weak-points. And of course, as a Montessori school, the learning is very hands on which is great for all children who just love to touch anything and everything! I'm impressed with how clean and organized the school is every time I visit and the programs they put on (including the yearly spring play) are always carefully thought out and executed. I also love how this school is multicultural, racially and religiously tolerant, informed, current, but still objective and consistent. Pick-up/drop-off is extremely quick and convenient and they communicate any changes and reminders way ahead of time via mass emails. They are everything you could want from an educational facility and more. As an educator (private music instructor), I highly recommend them!

My son has been attending Little Genius from May 2018, when we moved to Maryland from California…read more It was important to us to find the following: 1) Mandarin Immersion Program 2) Montessori philosophy, ideally with certification. 3) Warm and friendly teachers. Little Genius ticks all those boxes for us. When we moved our son was 2 years old, and had been in Mandarin Immersion Montessori since he was 3 months old. As a note, my husband and I are both American Mutts who speak English primarily and only Mandarin at a very basic (aka Toddler) level. Margaret and Joe (the owners/directors) are very warm and welcoming to new parents and worked with me to allow me to tour during my very short time I had before starting my new job. Little Genius is a combo of a school and home daycare. There are two rooms in a converted Basement that serve as the school. One is for the toddler set (18 months - 3 years, roughly) and one for the older set (3-6). The toddler room is full of well crafted Montessori materials for toddlers and open for circle time and play. The main room has appropriate sized tables for the young children to do their individual work. There is an on site outside playground that is fenced so the children can play without concerns. So far we've only experienced the toddler program. I would say the toddler program is more "play-based" than "school based" and there are some activities that we experienced at a previous more formal Montessori School (with the according high expense) that are not present at Little Genius. Notably any group cooking experiences for the littles, though I do understand it would be a challenge to pull off in the setup so it is understandable. That being said, my son has certainly learned many songs and poems in Mandarin and worked on his fine motor and gross motor skills through the "work" they do. I also have a fine collection of crafts, which I proudly hang on the refrigerator. The Mandarin is about 70/30 exposure. The teachers are all native speakers, which is great, and they speak to the children mostly in Mandarin. The children, however, speak English freely amongst themselves and often back to the teachers. I've seen and read of different versions of the immersion and while I don't think this is a bad implementation, it is not a 'strict' immersion, if that is what is being sought. There was a couple of months where my son refused to use his Mandarin at home, but he is more comfortable doing so now (and in part I believe because we as his parents worked hard to show we wanted to also learn and speak with him). Our son is always ready with a hug for his 老师 and is all smiles at drop-off and pickup. I like the practical life skills he is learning. Lunches started being provided within about 6 months and that has made my life easier and I know he's eating a variety of healthy options. I will update this review in 1-3 years after we have experienced the older kids program.

The administration is very bad. It is mostly like an army. You really need to be super patient and calm to deal with them. In another word you need to be the bigger person. They refuse to let you watch the class from outside for a glance, unless you schedule an appointment and they are prepare for you. This is concerning for me, in another word what do you have to hide? There only strength is the language. However if you put some efforts and search, you will be able to find a higher quality in home locations near this school. If you are willing to drive, you would be able to find better schools as well. Also, an in-home good tutor will be equivalent. I had my daughter with them for some time, the preschool teacher is kind of rude to the kids.
