Lime Kiln Park - A Hidden Gem in Menomonee Falls…read more We took a hike through Lime Kiln Park today and absolutely loved it! Tucked away in Menomonee Falls, this park feels like a peaceful little escape with just the right mix of nature, history, and fresh air. We explored both the upper and lower falls, and the views did not disappoint--especially with the sound of the rushing water and all the lush greenery around us. The trails are paved and easy to follow, which made our walk feel more like a relaxing stroll than a workout. There's something really cool about walking past the historic lime kilns--like you've stepped back in time for a moment. Between the rock formations, bridges, and little scenic spots to pause and take it all in, we found ourselves stopping often just to appreciate the beauty around us. It's the kind of place where you can go for a walk, clear your head, or bring the family for a peaceful afternoon. We even saw a few people playing disc golf and lots of birds hanging out near the water. If you haven't been yet, Lime Kiln Park is totally worth the visit. Bring your walking shoes, your camera, and a little curiosity--you'll leave refreshed and maybe even a bit inspired.

WOW! What a cool…read morepark area. Plenty of parking. Free. There is a nice easy paved trail, and if you are lucky enough, you may come across a deer eating some leaves. There is a pond or stream, there are flowers, birds, and all kinds of sights and nature to enjoy. If that is not your thing there are baseball fields, tennis / pickle ball courts, basketball courts, etc. Definitely a great place for some peace and quiet / solitude, or a date, or a family gathering. I can't believe how lucky we were to come across the deer and of course I did not have my camera with me because the rain was coming, so I only got some cell phone pics and video. The area around the park is nice too, so green and woodsy. If you are in the area, and want a nice park to try out then you should give it a chance.

Oh my goodness the nostalgia is REAL at Elm Grove Park. This is where I grew up, took swimming…read morelessons, attended "safety town," played in soccer tournaments, learned to ride my bike, and ran wild as a pre-teen. As you can probably gather, it's a massive green space, with lots to enjoy! Great for families as they playground is very quality. There are paths/trails that wind around the pond and wooded areas. You'll find plenty of tennis courts (I still come to watch my dad play all the time), as well as baseball diamonds, a frisbee golf course, volleyball nets, and some hills in back that make great for sledding in the winter. The swimming pool is massive (open June-August), and offers both lessons and fun theme-nights. Truly something for everyone at this park! Not to mention, it is extremely well-kept. I love coming back here and can't wait to bring my son once it warms up outside.

We thoroughly enjoyed our snow tramping hike! (But Dretzka is somewhat devoid of paved trails for hiking so take note). Dretzka IS home to some of the best frisbee golf in the MKE County Parks system- and we saw small squads taking part in the well-documented frisbee golf course. It's also home to a golf golf course, complete with a golf house, so tee up! The remnants of a past toboggan hill is here- and my parents remembered tobogganning down an icy ramp, so take note sledders and xx skiiers if you're looking for a larger hill to schuss down! Acres of snow in the winter, acres of green in the summer- Dretzka is top notch.

In the summer there's a beer garden that comes around. Given its location near the highway and next to two big stores, this would be a perfect place to throw a picnic. There's a playground and a circle trail leading to tennis courts, volleyball, picnic tables, and a track field. Venture further to the left side and you'll see the creek and open lawn space for picnics or letting your pet run wild. Lots of space to navigate and there's something for everyone here. Glad this was the first place I ventured too upon landing in the state of WI!

I've played kickball here in the past and the diamond is one of the nicer ones in the city. This park is a nice selling point if you are looking for a fun gathering space with plenty of activities for the kiddos. There is a lot of wide open green space, a community gathering center, clean restrooms, a playfield for softball/kickball, and they even manage to have a few concerts in the summer months!

Kind of reminds me of the set up in Elmhurst, IL. Skate Park, Pool, Waterpark-ish area. Another skate park I dropped my "big kid" off, but I actually ended up staying. Nice clean park, and nice area to park under a tree and read a book which is exactly what I did while waiting for J to get done skating. Very nice!

I took botany in college so I'm familiar with the most of plants in Wisconsin. So when I have scratching my head with unfamiliar flora, that means something. People swim, fish, letting dogs swim, pedal boating, swimming for open water companions, enjoying carefree outdoor activities in the park. It's wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature.

This time I came to test out the full expanse of the water with my paddle board. I came with my brother who had his kayak and fished. He caught a rainbow trout (and released). We stayed on the water for almost 4 hours - the water was nice and clean and it was busy but not crazy. The beach area was definitely a popular busy zone but most the people were in the designated swimming area versus the open lake. Just a great time and will be back! If looking to grab a spot on the dry land I would recommend arriving before 11am- that's when it started filling up more.
