It's been a few years since I've been to Fox Brook Park. Normally I came just to enjoy the beach/swimming and have since back in late elementary school! This time I came to test out the full expanse of the water with my paddle board. I came with my brother who had his kayak and fished. He caught a rainbow trout (and released). We stayed on the water for almost 4 hours - the water was nice and clean and it was busy but not crazy. The beach area was definitely a popular busy zone but most the people were in the designated swimming area versus the open lake. Just a great time and will be back! If looking to grab a spot on the dry land I would recommend arriving before 11am- that's when it started filling up more. read more

What a nice green park with convenient access to nature less than a half hour from downtown Milwaukee! Fox Brook has a swimming pond area, a pavilion for the beer garden and a rentable pavilion at Picnic Area 1. I rented out the pavilion for 30+ guests and it has plenty of space, can hold Up to 200. It also has a volleyball net and a cut little loop on the prairie. Lots of migrating birds in the spring! The reservation comes with a fee of course which you can reserve online. There is a $7 fee to enter the park as well and can also be done online. There's a paved trail that loops the swimmable Pond shared with bikers. It's a peaceful place to walk your dog, or by yourself or with friends/family/significant other. There is also a few offshoot unpaved trails that cuts into the trees for a short while to walk along the trees. Pretty decent if you're looking to take a quick walk and enjoy nature or have a meetup and enjoy some beer at the beer garden. read more

We enjoy walking here - nice paved path around the quarry lake. You can catch some nice sunsets in the evenings. Plenty of parking. Part of the Waukesha County Park system (get the annual pass if you live nearby!). read more

I'm surprised on a Sunday with kids that a group of adults were sweating, had open liquor, and had crude conversation. Theres no one around to patrol, no lifeguards, and pricey grilled cheese here. hmmmmmmmm read more

We take our dog to Fox Brook pretty often because it offers a nice, clean, path around the beautiful lake. The path is a little short of a mile, so you can choose to go around as much as you wish, and even stop and enjoy the view. Most people there are very friendly and share the path. There's a picnic area, a playground, and a hall you can rent. We're looking forward to the warmer weather to check out the dog swim area. This park does require a day or annual pass to enter. read more

First time here for a work event and I will definitely return. Nice and clean facility with well groomed grounds. The picnic area had a lot of picnic tables and a kitchen area for food prep. The rental area also had a volleyball net and good amount of private space for other games as well. There was a nice beach area and the day we were there school kids were taking kayaking lessons. Also saw paddle boats available for rent. The day ended with a couple of laps on the walking path. read more

I go to Fox Brook quite often to walk my dog and I've bought the yearly pass. It is a great place for you to walk your dog and have your children. There is a playground for them to play on and meet lots of new friends. Their beach is a nice place to cool down. There is a deep end which has a diving board but in order to swim there you need to take a swim test. There are lots of trees there which brings the mosquitoes and you'll definitely get bit at least once if your walking around the lake. You can rent paddle boats there (which I've never done) but it seems like it's be fun. I'd recommend going sometime (and wearing bug spray) to walk you dog. read more

We had a group that rented the lodge in the park. It was a great experience as we enjoyed the sunset over the lake from the lodge with a fire going in the fireplace. It was a great night! The park is beautiful and the mile long hike around the lake is just perfect for our group. Fully paved paths Are very helpful as well. read more

We heard this was a good place to take our dog for a swim, so thought we'd try it out. The grassy area between the parking lot and the entrance to the "dog swimming area" was full of poop piles that people hadn't bothered cleaning up after their dogs relieved themselves, despite there being a trash can right there. YUCK! There was a gate to the dog swim area so that dogs leaving the water couldn't run away; that was good. The area itself was only about 12 feet wide. There were two big labs there and four people with them when we arrived. It was just way too crowded for us to feel comfortable letting our smaller dog swim there. The kicker is that you have to pay a $5 fee to even enter the park to see if it's crowded, so you can't just do a drive through and decide. We'll not be back. read more

What a diamond in the rough!!! My sister and I have been searching for a beach day spot for quite some time now and Yelp helped us find Fox Brook Park! Only a 20 min drive from our place in West Allis! For $4 the park provides a clean beach with picnic areas (both covered and non covered). A floating dock with a diving board. Grilling spots. Grassy areas for gatherings. A separate doggy swimming spot (a bit small and crowded with more than 4 dogs & families). Hiking trails. And so much more we didn't have time to explore!! A solid star was taken away because this is a County Park and they do NOT ALLOW floaties of any kind in the lake!?!?! Only certified life jackets. I understand for safety reasons but the lake is sectioned off and not even the adults are allowed to float in the water with a raft or mesh floatie. With that being my only true complaint we will be back to grill out and take a dip! read more

This may be the best random yelp selection in a long while. You know whats in my area yelp roulette. This park boasts lost of trails (paved and unpaved) a dog park, an art gallery, a large (very cool) children play area, a covered venue with pic nic tables and fountains. (its available to rent for private parties) and lots of gorgeous scenery (like the butterfly area i found randomly ) I spent 2 hours here and i didnt complete the whole park I will be back in the future im sure to discover more finds but it is deff. a place i would go to again. We are so fortunate in this state to have so many awesome public and state parks. read more

One of our favorite walks. We take advantage of the free City of Brookfield parking by the dog park in Mitchell Park (to avoid the Waukesha County parking fee) and walk around the lake. The changing seasons offer great views. We are often amused by the enthusiastic whistle-blowing County lifeguards. Chill, folks! It's a park. read more
