In the US, when you say you want it cut a certain way, they cut it that way. Homeboy over here has seemed to forget that it's my hair, not his, so, I really don't care how you want it cut! I paid and jet out there quicker than you can say Peace out! 37 pounds for 10 minute clean up, No Thank you. I don't recommend this place. There are plenty of barbershops in and around London and Shoreditch that won't stop cutting your hair until you are satisfied.

There was an extra barber chair when I walked in and they immediately sat me down with no wait time. I was surprised to feel so welcomed by them and no awkward feeling despite being a stranger. Even after giving only a vague idea of what I wanted, the barber immediately went to work. I can't remember his name because it wasn't one I had heard before but he ended up eventually settling in London after a long journey via the Netherlands as a war refugee from Iraq in the 90's. The haircut was quick and efficient, and they waxed my ears which was a strange experience, but overall I felt like I came to the right place. If I lived in the area I would definitely come again.

I went for Ergun Ottoman (I think the name is a coincidence) and I seem to have made the right choice...read on! When I arrived at Ted's Grooming Room on a cold autumn Saturday morning, I was greeted by the hustle and bustle of a really busy barber shop. Every seat in the upstairs salon was taken and there was at least one person waiting in line for each of the chairs. But...my quest let me downstairs into the Ottoman Lounge. There I was welcomed by the hostess; she took my coat and offered me a Turkish coffee, which I gladly accepted. (I could've also taken a beer, but it seemed a bit early for that ;-) While I was waiting for my turn, I was able to watch the barbers do their business on my "predecessors". I was especially mesmerised by one barber who treated his client with the utmost grace: the scissor moved along elegantly, the shave was done in a very professional manner and while he was clipping away at the client's hair, a woman sat down next to them and he received a manicure. Turns out the barber was Ergun - my barber! I had only signed up for the shaving package (Shaving Grace), but in retrospect I really should've opted for the manicure as well; this would've been an additional charge of £12. (Which seems to be a reasonable price for London.) All in all, I'm very happy with my experience at the Ottoman Lounge - I definitely left the place with high spirits and a cheek smooth like a baby's butt! PS: If you're looking for a more simple haircut and shave, I suggest to simply use the upstairs barber shop.

He said it was so relaxing and truly a great shave. My only issue really was they said it would be a 15 min wait and it was more like 45 min wait. I think they told us that so they wouldn't lose the business, but I'd rather been told the truth and we could have gone next door for a pint! I will say they did offer him a bottle of beer, but never offered me anything or even spoke to me. I left and went next door and got my own pint with a nice relaxing view in the pubs outdoor seating area.

The slight trim on tip turned in to a total scalping taking my decent head of hair to an Action Man style crop with a weird longe fringe! She did everting I asked her not too, way too short, a round shape not square which was the number one thing I said I didn't want and hacked off the areas I said I was growing. Bad bad BAD! I used to just get haircuts, then I had a full Ted once. The full Ted is where it's at. A shave, haircut, unibrow thing, and towel massage. It's really awesome. It's now my thing. Me: Yeah, just a trim, is it too late in the evening? *Guys look at each other* Guy: We don't do women's haircuts. Me: I don't understand? I have a short haircut. Guy: We don't do it if it's a lady.
