Starting with the staff, Marshall is our favorite. She is so welcoming and has endless enthusiasm for not only the kids, but the role itself. She is gentle and a ball of kind energy wrapped up in a tiny package. You can tell she loves what she does, as it shows with her care and excitement for the kids. I'm sad to say I don't remember the male teacher's name, but he is beyond kind with the kids. He's able to capture their attention, and they absolutely love him. He's so kind and gentle with all the little, and they love him for it. The owner, Ceevan, is so nice and hands on. You can tell he cares a great deal about the location, staff, and kids. He is not afraid to get into the mix and jump in with the kids when needed. The facility itself has plenty of parking, is clean and well maintained. The kids are entertained and enthralled with the activities, and are spent of energy by the end of the class. Each time we leave, a nap for both adult and kid is needed. Those early postpartum months can feel so overwhelming, and having a safe space with other moms in the same stages every week made such a difference. I loved it so much that I went on to the Rising Toddler class. My baby loves NMS, too. Watching the babies interact, learn, and grow together each week was genuinely so sweet, and I really think it's been good for him to be around other babies as well. I yelled a lot, but more than that I had lost my joy and I just felt like I was drowning in my life most of the time. Working with Janet this summer was like a warm hug. I had read all the parenting books you guys. I knew a lot of neuroscience and child development already. I had been trying as hard as I could to be a good mom for as long as I can remember. What I DIDN'T know was how to show myself compassion. What I didn't know was that I was never going to be able to do better until I felt better and my nervous system actually experienced safety on a regular basis. What I didn't know was how to care for myself like I was someone who mattered too. It took me a while to realize that these coaching sessions were actually Janet mothering me in such a beautiful and compassionate way. She was holding space for all the emotions and fears and hurt of my parenting journey without a shred of judgment. She helped me to believe that I make sense and that I'm already a good mom. She helped me to believe that my children are good too and that their most extreme struggles are simply part of their journey, not something to fear. She taught me to identify what my body was feeling and what I needed so that I could get to a place of safety and truly show up for my children with presence and empathy. It was such a journey with many ups and downs but I'm here to tell you that I'm building trust with my children every day now instead of tearing it down. I'm responding most of the time to my kids' tantrums & challenges in ways that I'm proud of. I truly didn't expect to get so much out of this parenting class and a few coaching sessions but it turned out to be one of the most meaningful experiences of my life.

Olivia was born on Aug 12 at 1012 pm. She weighed 7 lbs 12 oz and was 21 in long. I began having contractions at 4 am and my water broke at 630 pm. The hard labor was intense but I did it with no medications, and we had no complications! She was/is perfectly healthy thank God. Her class was instrumental in helping me to go forward with no medications. I couldn't have asked for a better birth (unless I can get one with absolutely no pain) haha. I will never forget my experience with Jessica's birthing class - it's incredible how someone can…read morewalk you into a situation where you're faced emotionally with what's to come during birth. That's about as close to it as you can get without yet experiencing it. Facing natural childbirth is something she clearly has a WIDE range of experience with and it was so comforting to be a part of that learning experience with my husband. We left feeling closer to each other and more understanding of our strengths, weaknesses, fears and needs, which really does hold a tremendous amount of weight when going through labor, birth and bringing a child into the world together. I had quite a few people roll their eyes when they heard about my 4 Saturdays spent at birthing classes as if it was a "hoo-hoo-hee" Lamaze type of class, with responses like "None of that shit does any good when you get there." Little do they know what we were able to take away from this wonderful experience together on such a deeper level than some generic breathing technique. I feel more confident in my (and my husband's) emotional and physical ability to get through this naturally, assuming we have that opportunity :) Jessica is unfortunately unable to be my doula as she was booked with another Mommy-to-be the same week (which is this week!), which is a super bummer as my connection with her was on point (to say the least), so don't hesitate when reaching out and scheduling a consultation as she's well sought out! Also, my birthday fell out on one of the Saturdays of our class and she made a chocolate ganache cake for me and our class. Her delivery of it was so so special, she is just an absolute gem who has 100% found her calling in this world.
