Today, I checked in at 10:28 a.m. -- I know this because I had just texted my wife. When I arrived, there were five people ahead of me. I had always assumed patients were seen in the order they checked in. That was not the case. I waited patiently for my turn. A man came in after I did and sat down. When a name was called, I stood up, assuming it was finally my turn -- only to realize they were calling the man who had arrived after me. I was surprised but sat back down. I then noticed the doctor spent about 20-25 minutes with him in what appeared to be a consultation. Meanwhile, more people continued to arrive and take seats. When the next name was called, it was yet another newer arrival -- again ahead of those of us who had already been waiting. By this time, several of us were exchanging frustrated looks. It was now 11:45 a.m. After waiting over an hour without any clarity on the order in which patients were being seen, I chose to leave. It appears that new patients may be given priority, perhaps to make a favorable first impression. However, this comes at the expense of existing patients who have already committed to ongoing care. Based on this experience, I will not be returning to The Joint Chiropractic.
