A couple interesting pieces but nothing that really stood out. Almost bought a wooden wall hanging but then realized it was Hobby Lobby. There was ample space in the aisles to bring my toddler in a stroller (had my baby in a front carrier). There is a bathroom for customers. The shop is a collaboration of numerous antique collectors under one roof, and I have to admit the selection is quite impressive. I was very impressed with their collection of records, which were of the collectible type not like the usual junk you see in Goodwill. I found records here that you can't even find in record stores. Just when you thought you'd seen everything inside, there's a door that leads to the back which leads you into another large space that is non-air conditioned. Everything here is very well laid out and the prices aren't ridiculous. There are so many things to see here that I decided to let the pictures below tell the story. This place is definitely worth a visit if you're visiting Taylor. You'll also be happy to know they do have a public bathroom.

I think most of them were highlighted on the show. The items usually have small signs that share their origins and the history of each small business. I come here because it is one of the few places outside of Lubbock that sells whole coffee beans from Monomyth Coffee, which is some of my favorite coffee ever. I stopped in yesterday to buy two bags that were both on sale in a flavor I really enjoy. The woman working at the shop remembered me from my previous visit when I bought coffee beans back in November. Great customer service at the Daytripper HQ. In a way, it's no surprise that few people know about this place since it is definitely located behind other storefronts on Dessau Road. It sits in a strip center behind another strip center completely out of visual range. When you first walk through the door, you think you're entering a Goodwill boutique store because of its small size. It's even laid out like a small Goodwill except that nothing is used here, everything is new. Near the entrance, you can dig through some bargain bins loaded with cosmetics and miscellaneous items. They do have some men's clothes and shoes, but it's really geared towards women's apparel and children's items. I was told all new shoes are $10 a pair and clothing is $7 apiece. Apparently the best time to shop here is on Fridays after they've been closed Wednesday and Thursday. One thing they lack is a dressing room to try clothing on (no bathroom either). I picked up some new shoes and jeans for just $17. Many of the items in the bins have price stickers, but some don't which means you'll have to ask. Yes there's a lot of new cheapo junk here, but there's a lot of worthwhile items as well. Informative photos included.

There are some things the store does very well, and some areas that are clearly struggling. First, the space is much larger than the previous location. There is plenty of room for merchandise, and they seem to have many kind volunteers working there. The furniture and home goods section is organized fairly well. However, the shelves are extremely packed with merchandise, which may be related to the pricing. Many items feel overpriced for a community thrift store, which likely slows down how quickly things move off the shelves. The layout is also a bit confusing. It almost feels like two completely separate stores. Furniture and home goods are on one side, while clothing is in a different area. What makes it more unusual is that you cannot pay for clothing on the home goods side, or home goods on the clothing side. You also have to go outside to enter each section. It seems like this setup requires twice as many volunteers and makes the shopping experience less convenient. The pricing on the clothing side is actually very good, but the organization is quite poor. I found high-end men's shirts, such as Brooks Brothers, mixed in with women's clothing. There were several other similar examples of items being misplaced, which made browsing more difficult. I have visited multiple times before writing this review because I hoped that, after the expansion, the shopping experience would improve. Unfortunately, the store actually felt more organized in its old location than it does now.

That in itself told me that one hand knows what the other is doing, and it's obviously really organized. Second, when we went in the thrift store side, it smelled clean. On that side, they were super nice too, and my eBay purchase pick up was super smooth. Purchases that you make their go toward providing food for people who need services from the food pantry. Even the eBay purchases go toward that. I feel better about a purchase if something good comes out of it for somebody else too. That's important to me and my family.
