I first came to see Dr. Jen and Ms. Rose after a back surgery and towards the end of my PT @ Brunswick PT in Sunset Beach. I went to Chiropractors back home in NY that were good, they helped me manage my pain. I feel my experience with At the Beach Chiropractic was the best place for me to get better and make a full recovery to normalcy. Dr. Jen created a special treatment regimen for me and over time my issues started to fade away. In the beginning I thought my case was too much for Dr. Jen to handle and I may not be ready for Chiropractic treatment; Jen and Rose were so experienced and gentle I trusted them 100% from the start and I have improved so much. Visiting OIB for vacation and I needed an adjustment. We saw the office while driving, called and got appointments the next morning for my daughter and myself. The staff was very friendly and outgoing. Dr Owens did a fantastic job on my back and neck. My back is normally very difficult to adjust but Dr Owens had no problems. I will make this an annual visit when vacationing on Ocean Isle Beach NC. read more

History

Established in 1982.

Dr. Pamela Owens is a board certified Chiropractic Physician - Doctor of Chiropractic and Naturopathic Doctor. She is also board certified in Acupuncture through the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture. Over many years in practice, she has received numerous post-graduate certifications including: Manipulation under Anesthesia, Spinal Rehabilitation, Laser & Electrical/Auricular Acupuncture (weight loss/smoking cessation). She has recently completed certification in Functional Medicine and testing for environmental and dietary toxicity. In her community, she repeatedly has been voted the best alternative doctor in the area! She works closely with her patients Medical Doctors, as needed, to ensure they are getting the best care available.

Dr. Pamela Owens graduated with honors in 1989 from Logan Chiropractic College-Univeristy in St. Louis, MO. She spent 13 very successful years in practice there. Since then, she has returned to Ocean Isle Beach, NC; back "to the beach" she has loved so well to continue practicing! She also attended Southern Illinois University-Carbondale-Undergraduate-Arts, and Chowan College-Murfreesboro, NC - Arts/Photography She continues to take classes both on line and in conferences believing that "knowledge inspires me to empower my patients to take responsibility for their health and I will guide them along the way"

So a month later we get a $130.00 bill. That floored us. So my wife called and we were told that they were no longer an in network provider. That they got a letter from our insurance provider dropping them from the network. I understand these things happen. But upon check in they never said anything about no longer being in network when in fact they knew they weren't. When checking in they always asked if there is any changes to our insurance. We didn't know that they were dropped as our insurance company never notified us of the change. So we appealed the bill to Shallotte Family Dentistry and they refused to work with us on their bill citing that they file our insurance as a courtesy. Beware, that you could end up with a huge bill if you had more work than a cleaning done. I would no longer recommend them.

On my follow up visit he checked my teeth out and found some issues and sat down and explained all my options, the best options and the most cost effective options.
