While the dental care itself has been adequate, the front desk and insurance communication have been consistently poor and misleading. On multiple occasions, I was given inaccurate information about coverage, leading to wasted time and unnecessary stress. The most unacceptable incident was when a procedure was cancelled after I had already been numbed and after my copay of several hundred dollars had been collected--only then was I told it would not be covered. That level of incompetence and disregard for patients is unacceptable. Dental care is about trust, and By the Sea Dentistry has broken mine. Until they overhaul their front office operations and insurance practices, I cannot recommend this practice to anyone. read more

My first visit to see, Dr. Michel... Young woman who took the call, Noelle, was extremely professional & courteous. I arrived shortly thereafter looking forward to meeting, Dr. Michel, whom came highly recommended. However, during the Insurance process, another young woman came over & approached me rather abruptly & a little rude. I thought, ok I know this can be a harrowing process, so I just decided to go with it. I wished I walked out then, I have never been treated so disrespectful by an attitude of arrogance & indifference, what a nightmare. I literally had to call myself to confirm I am fully covered. So as for Dr. Michel, I will go into meet him & let him know, I will not be using his service, I will gracefully decline & go to a dentist, where iffffff you did not happen to have insurance are treated with kindness & respect. read more

Have been a patient for about 3 years today I received a bill for almost $300 for an appointment in August problem is I haven't been there in over a year, due to COVID when I called I was told that my insurance denied the claim and I would have to pay it then was hung up on. I called and spoke to the manager and was told that the bill was from a year ago and they tried to call me two times problem here is they had the wrong number (they have had my correct number and have called in the past) when I questioned further she couldn't tell what date I was there (gave me three different dates) she said she would send a detailed bill for me to discuss with the insurance company when I asked for an apology she said the girl for billing didn't feel like it and there was nothing she could do. read more

I'm always greeted by Becky at the front desk who is always pleasant and friendly. The hygienists are always thorough and kind. Laureen always remembers stories about my family and what I told her at my last visit 6months prior. I never wait long in the office. Dr Michel is always quick and thorough and makes me feel comfortable and safe. I always had a little fear of going to the dentist but I found a place that makes me feel much better about it. read more

Had a crown installed and it was the most painful dental procedure I've ever had. The dentists hands were shaking very bad during the procedure which might account for the hole he drilled through my expensive crown and failed to inform me of. He also ground part of a healthy tooth down to make his crown with the hole in it fit. I was in an extreme amount of pain so I scheduled a visit with another dentist and was informed of the hole. The crown has since fallen off (the second dentist only took pics and x-rays) and I will pay out of pocket for a new one before ever returning to this dentist. If the review was for the staff it would have been 5 stars, they were a pleasure to deal with. read more
