They are reliable and saved me from a 12,000.00 unnecessary repair the other shop had quoted me. Ask for Lucas Collier, he's your man if you are looking for a truly genuine repair man. We can't THANKYOU enough and will be sending all our business your way and sharing your shop with everyone. Please read below (if you have time but I highly recommend you take the time to read) what I had to post as a review on the other shop because this is why we love Champion. The whole staff there is wonderful. Thankyou Lucas, Blue and team again!! Below is the review I had to post on Lambs Automotive in Buda and you can read for yourself why we love Champion Auto in San Marcos ... Lambs Auto Repair Review *WARNING* First time bringing my car in here since it changed from McSpaddens to Lambs in Buda and wow I am SUPER disappointed. I brought my car in due to a gas smell it was giving- and for them to do a diagnostic test to see what may be the issue. Mind you my car has never over heated or my check engine light was never on. They called me after running a couple tests saying I had two options because they believed I had a broken head gasket. They said I needed a brand new motor For 12,000.00 or they were going to need to replace head gasket and surrounding parts for around 6,5000.00. I know nothing about cars so I call my husband in a panic. Thank God for my husband knowing things about cars. It just didn't seem possible my car needed all that work. So we took it from Lambs and found another shop recommended by some friends. Champion Auto Repair in San Marcos. HIGHLY RECOMMEND taking your car there instead. They are honest, experienced and do quality work. Ask for Lucas Collier, was so impressed with him. They ran all the tests and found NO broken head gasket! Turns out my jeep just needed a little tune up ( new spark plus etc) and more importantly IF my head gaskets needed replacing ,as Lambs had said, this new shop quoted us 2800.00 for the EXACT same repair. Doing research we found Lambs was BEYONd over charging us and charging us for repairs that weren't even needed!! feel pretty taken advantage of, and would still be trying to figure out a way to take a loan out to be able to pay for a repair at Lambs that was never even needed. Definitely won't be trusting this shop. Lesson learned 1. Always do research on cost of parts and 2. Always get a second opinion. *Also noticed that all the five star reviews are actually from the previous ownership which was McSpaddens. So do your research!! (512) 938-1122

I was told that in life you only need 3 things. A good woman, a dog and a good mechanic. Well, the…read morewife left, the dog died but I do believe that I was able to nail the 3rd. I found Garcia's Diesel to do a simple diagnostic on my truck, a Ford F350 6.7 liter diesel, that had been in an accident caused by a blowout on the freeway. The original collision center "fixed" it and gave it back. Fun fact, it wasn't "fixed". After months of back and forth with my insurance company and the collision center it was concluded that I needed to get a diagnostic done to find out if there was anything wrong. Mind you, the collision center assured me that everything was fixed and that they thought my concerns were all in my head. Enter Garcia's Diesel. They got me in and within 5 minutes of looking at my truck determined that there was a lot wrong. Like fraud level wrong. Like the front end, which was supposed to be fixed, was about to fall off wrong. Now, this is the point where I could've been taken advantage of. But what happened was the crew of the shop seemed just as mad about the situation as me. The owner, John Garcia along with the operations manager Trent Hulsey and their skilled diesel mechanic Scott, assured me that they would assist in any way they could as the long process of fighting with the insurance company (USAA) to get them to make my truck right. Assisting them was the office manager Laurne Ashelin who has experience with insurance claims, specifically with USAA, and was able to navigate the process to make sure that all the information gathered was properly documented so that the insurance had no choice but to make things right. Along the way they also found something else going on that I'd been dealing with that could've been catastrophic. They were able to work with me to correct that problem in the most cost-effective and cost-efficient way avoiding a much more expensive, and possibly fatal, issue with the truck. You Ford Powerstroke owners, change your CCV filter. If you don't know what that is, google it because it needs to be changed. Above and beyond is a rare thing in the business of garages. These folks get it. They weren't working on my Truck. They were gaining a customer for life. And in a difficult time made sure that I knew they were on my side and committed to getting me back on the road. In the word of Johns wife, Katlynne, I'm not just a customer, I'm family. And to be honest, through this entire process, I felt like it. 5 stars isn't enough.

Warning...long post but worth the read if you are contemplating taking your vehicle here to get…read moreworked on. Do not take your vehicle here if you want it fixed properly. Synopsis: 1- They did not properly install my tank. 2. They did not use the supplied parts resulting in a defective installation (they threw away one supplied part that was critical to the installation). 3. They broke my fuel sending unit...twice!! 4. They dumped 15 gallons of diesel ($3.62 a gallon...$54.30 worth!) on the floor and did not replace it...but offered to replace it and charge me... I took my 2021 Ram 3500 here at 1 in the afternoon to have an aftermarket Diesel tank installed. The guy at the check in counter said that they can install my part but defective customer parts are not warrantied (as they should not be) but the labor to install the part was. I supplied them with the exact instructions and emphasied to them that they MUST only use the parts supplied. They told me my truck would be worked on and ready by the end of the day becuase they were slow. Never heard from them by the close of business. Called the next day at 11 in the morning and they said they just got it in. They called later in the day and let me know they broke a part off of the fuel tank when installing (the fuel sending unit hose connectors). They broke it becuase they did not properly install the tank on the truck. They said they could sell me one (For over $600) or I would have to pay to replace it myself becuase customer supplied parts are not under warranty...even if they break them...I was able to get a replacement under warranty so they installed the tank again and said it was ready. I picked my truck up, filled the tank and fuel spilled out all over the ground...Took it back to Cambridge and spoke with the Head Mechanic (Mike). He said my new tank must be defective because they installed it "correctly"...they did not. He then said that their labor was NOT warrantied because I supplied the part...direct contradiction to what the guy at the check in counter stated to me. After 45 minutes of "discussing", Mike finally agreed to "prove to me" that the issue was the tank and not the labor. I watched him put my truck on a lift and proceed to remove the now full tank (about 400 pounds worth of fuel now...52 gallons...minus what spilled all over the place due to the faulty labor). He used a transmission lift/jack to support the tank but it did not operate correctly. One of Mike's other mechanics hit the emergency release switch on the jack and it dropped the whole tank 3 feet (falling on the other mechanic), resulting in another broken fuel sending unit...which they would not replace even though it was their fault so I had to go get another one (a total of 2 $400 sending units now that they have broken). Mike removed the tank and I discovered that they did not use the supplied gasket during the installation (remember, I stressed to them that they must use ALL supplied parts) which resulted in a poor tank seal leading to the Diesel spilling out all over the place. The gasked I supplied for the install had been thrown in the trash. They went and found the discarded gasket, reinstalled they tank and it worked perfectly. Final insult to injury was that they spilled and removed 15 gallons of Diesel ($54.30 worth) and refused to replace it. This whole debacle took nearly 3 days...a far cry from the 5 hours I was told it would take. Do NOT use Cambridge Auto Center if you want your repairs/Labor to be done correctly, on-time and warrantied...they suck.

Then they tried to charge me to figure out why the brakes no longer work. Suggested it might be a failed break power booster. Right.... I hobbled the vehicle home and checked it out. There was air in the system, an easy 10 min fix. Oh and by the way, they also cross threaded another lug nut so I had to shear that one off to get to the brake. So I went in for a cross threaded lug nut and came out with another cross threaded lug nut!! Not sure if it's a scam or just incompetence.
