Heaven. A beautiful little piece of a bread masterpiece heaven. Thank you to the chefs that took their talents to the masses and created a comfortable and efficient place to stop for a beverage and delightful treat. I've bookmarked this business to ensure that I don't miss it the next time I'm in the area with out of town visitors. Friendly staff that was amused by my lack of German but also very gracious and saved me by speaking English. Phew. Love! read more

In unserem Stammhaus im Herzen der Fachwerkaltstadt von Herrenberg, hat vor über 180 Jahren Johann Jacob Baier den Bäcker Baier in einem halben Haus gegründet. Sechs Generationen haben hier, besessen von der Leidenschaft für gutes Brot, den Betrieb in jeder Generation weiter entwickelt.

Der Bäcker Baier wird von Jochen Baier in sechster Generation geführt. Als zweifacher Deutscher Meister, Konditor des Jahres 1998 und Mitglied der Bäcker Nationalmannschaft hat er mit Fleiß und Innovationskraft das Traditionsunternehmen in eine erfolgreiche Zukunft geführt. Inzwischen leben über 100 Mitarbeiter Tag für Tag die Ideale vom Bäcker Baier und entwickeln sie weiter.

Its not on the beaten path, and upon entrance feels like a throwback to the mid fifties, early sixties. Hands down they have the best butter bretzels in town. The butter is injected into the round, and the bite you take therefore has that satisfying cream center kinduva feel usually reserved for Berliner or other doughnut like items. Do yourself a solid and get one now.

We were happy to see that they had a breakfast menu which turned out to be super delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful, the bakery/café was neat and cozy and the food portions were very big.
