What a jovial and fun bar. Eclectic music, kooky pix and posters with a bunch of beers on drafts and bottles. Outside seating with inside seating that reaches out to the right side becoming another covered outdoor area. There is a whole wall of boardgames to choose from. It is a coffee shop, but it graduates to a bar at night. Go inside to order and carry your drink to where you want to sit. Friendly lady bartender.

Really cool cafe in Stavanger. Great coffee and delicious carrot cake. The decor was very eccentric yet homey. Just a great place to either just read a good book, sit and catch up with a friend, or spend time with a date. They also serve a good variety of alcohol here as well. I would definitely recommend taking time to make a stop here if you're in Stavanger. The entire area is very picture worthy, and you won't be disappointed with the quality of coffee, service and atmosphere.

Fantastic and eclectic spot in the heart of Stavanger. Very chill spot with cozy inside, front patio and awesome garden in the back. Come sit and read, play a game, hang with your friends or alone. The carrot cake is fantastic too. Truly a gem. Wifi password written on the chalkboard so you don't have to search.

Exploring the town and by chance happened upon this nice little cafe/coffee/beer house. I knew this would be a great place because they were packed but they had just open too. I watched as server quickly help folks ordering coffee and treats. Decided to take a short walk and when I returned things much quieter. I was able to take some time to ask about some local beers. The young woman was great. She showed me a couple varieties of beer and directed me towards one she thought I would like. It was great. Sitting back drinking my beer, I was able to enjoy the atmosphere of this shop. They play great music; have an outdoor patio; main bar for counter orders; both booth and table seating plus a small room in the back. I passed many other cafes but this one just had the right feel and I was not disapointed. I would definitely recommend this place for a relaxing break in your touring day.

This was such a nice find during one of our cruise stops in the British Isles. Located amongst a bunch of colorfully painted buildings, adorned with rainbow flags, and lots of outdoor seating along a cobblestone street, this cafe and bar was the perfect spot to sit and relax on a drizzly Norwegian day. They provide blankets outside for the little bit of chill as well as heat lamps (which appears fairly typical). The coffee was delicious and the girl who worked the counter was super friendly. Prices are slightly higher (compared to the US $) but I believe they are pretty comparable to anywhere in the area. I believe we paid about $4.00 (approx) for an Americano. It was a very good Americano, though. And for me and my family, totally worth it for the ambiance alone.

Great spot off the side blocks of all the main touristy stuff in Stavanger. Great beer selection, including a nice variety of Scandinavian beers (which I've had trouble finding during my time in Norway). And all the locals at the bar keeps ordering coffee, which leads me to believe it's pretty good too. Definitely hit this place up for a drink or two, or some coffee if you're in Stavanger.
Cute cafe along Fargegaten, The Street of Colors. When a local Stavanger hairdresser wanted to infuse a pop of color into this street who knew that he would create a tourist attraction? This cute cafe is so cozy and inviting. Love the colors, the books and the board games. Coffeeshop by day. Bar at night. A great place to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea with family and friends. read more
Nice bar to play board games and have a beer or two! We visited Bøker og Børst on a Sunday night, and it was busy but there were tables available. The bar has plant-themed wallpaper and both fake and real plants scattered about the bar. They also have both indoor and outdoor seating available. They offer mostly premade cocktails, but they do have a few basic options available. They also have a fairly wide draft beer selection and a decent selection of board games to play. If you want to play games and drink beer in Stavanger, then I think Bøker og Børst is the place! read more

We found this local café for breakfast and was thrilled to see they had a Pumpkin Spice Latte on the menu so I could have my first one in September. It actually turned out to be a chai though, so that was a bit confusing. It is a cute place, but our breakfast treats were only so-so. read more

This is a cool concept for a bar. Books everywhere, even in the bathroom. We went on a weekday evening and sat outside. I loved the seating. You were together but apart. Just the right amount of noise. The bar was packed but the drinks came fast. I really enjoyed my cider. My drinking companions tried some local brews and had no complaints. We shared a sour that was really sour (too much for me) but they were raving about the taste. I'd like to go back and sit inside amongst the books. Maybe next trip! read more

A cute little place. Very funky, cosy, warm and inviting. The inside is fairly small, but they have additional seating on a patio in the back and along the street out front. A nice selection of beers; the draft selections during my visit included beers from Norway, the US and the Netherlands. This is a cafe so they also have assorted teas and coffees and sweets (the Guinness chocolate cake is very tasty). Our server was very friendly. This place is in a very convenient location right in the central part of town. Definitely worth a visit. read more

This is such a charming bar- my favorite in the city! The exterior makes it look like a bookshop with inviting outdoor tables. When you come in, it's a mixture of students and locals enjoying the atmosphere. They have a great selection of bottled beers with a few on tap, and the do jam nights here some nights. of course it is expensive, but for Norway prices, it is ok. if you want a taste of the local flair, I would say this is a must see! read more

Great place if you can get a table. But the place is so popular, we usually walk past it and see that there aren't any free tables there. A perfect place to hang out and relax with a beer. read more

Passing by, we just had to go in! This is an eclectic - how shall we explained it? - beer bar & bakery... seating outside in the front & outside in the back, along with the tables & bar-seating inside. The walls have quotes of various authors & artists. (The name translates to "books & brush"). We had the cheese chili croissants - so flakey, light & delicate with only hints of cheese & chili (a must try) a delicious! Will come back the next time we're in Stavanger. read more
