So so so good after a long hike! Absolutely the best milkshake I've ever had - I got the strawberry. We got the saucy Joe burger (amazing cheese sauce and crispy bacon) and the bacon and cheddar YUM. The lemon drop basically tasted like a lemon meringue pie. Dirty fries were delicious, and the sweet potato fries were crispy. Absolutely would come back so so good! Must say the custom ground and handmade burgers were cooked perfectly. Enough char, flavorful, juicy, but not greasy. I got the weekly special that came with a spicy ketchup, chili and jalapenos. Mr. Bland had the plain hamburger that he said was very good. It came with mayo, lettuce and onions. MILKSHAKE!!!!! Uhum! Do a Yelp check in and get a rich and thick small milkshake. We got the blueberry. It has real blueberries in it and tasted like a blueberry cheesecake. 2 floors of seating. We sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air and people watching. We stumbled on this place while in Stavanger and it turned out to be a good find! The place was bustling on a Thursday evening! Despite how busy it was, we had great service. For dinner, three in our group had the chicken wings - which they all raved about. I had the Ballad of Salad - which was quite delicious. Came here after hiking Pulpit Rock so to say the least, I was hungrier than ever aaaand food was alright. I got the one (jack n joe? Or something like that) with bbq sauce and onions and it was good but sadly left me disappointed. My mom got the classic and my sister got the cheddar and bacon (would recommend this one from the three we got). All the burgers gave me diner vibes. The sweet potato fries were better than the regular fries- nothing to complain about there. We got three beers which were perfecto. Checked in to claim our free milkshake. We went with strawberry and omg if they are doing one thing right, it's their milkshake. The portion is so perfect too. I had been here a few years ago and didn't have a great time but really appreciated the manager reaching out to say they were sorry so we decided to go again and I'm glad we did. First off, their adult shake selection is amazing. I got blueberry with sambuca and I wish I could drink 10 of those. It was so good! My dining partner loved the beer list and had no complaints about his selections. For burgers, we went with the chili and the royale with cheese. I loved the royale - amazing flavor and perfectly done. The chili was good but a bit overcooked. We also ordered a side of chili cheese fries. Heavenly! Our waitress was so nice and checked on us throughout the meal. The bathroom is located on the third floor and there was a spill on the stairs where I slipped because I wasn't paying attention so be sure to look down as I think they bring food up and down the same stairs. Burger was good after a long ferry ride, a short bus ride, and a 15 walk dragging luggage in the rain on the way to our Airbnb. We got there at 8:55 and kitchen closed at 9. Sat at downstairs bar. After a long day waking up early and hiking out at Lysebotn, we ended the night with a late dinner at Dognvill. With a party of 8, we had to wait about 40 minutes for a table, but with plenty of bars on Skagen, it wasn't an issue at all. We got seated on the second floor, where there's a little bit more space, along with the kitchen. The service was good with regards to getting our food brought out, even if the communication with our waitress wasn't necessarily the clearest. The beer menu is alright - not the most extensive I've seen, and a bit pricey (a large bottle of IPA for NOK 240?!) - but you can definitely find a beverage to suit yourself. Being a burger joint, as well as wanting a break from seafood, getting a couple patties was what I ended up ordering. I got the cheddar and bacon, which was served with the usual condiments as well. The meats are excellent - they come from A. Isdoe, a local butcher where we picked up some steaks the previous night. Both the burger and the bacon (also sourced from there) were juicy and succulent. The house mayo was surprisingly good on the bottom of the burger (not a big mayo-on-patty man), and with a bit of good 'ole Heinz on the top, you had a delicious double cheeseburger. If anything, the cheese was somewhat MIA, but it didn't detract from the overall quality. We also had a side of fries (not included here - go figure), and they were good as well - thinly-cut and not overly salty. The aioli was alright, although it could have been a bit more flavored - was a bit heavy on the mayonnaise. In all, I did like the vibe here. It's pricey (as are all things in this country when it comes to food), but for a more chill, laid-back meal, it definitely works, and I would come back again if I was hankering for some classic American cuisine. read more

Hands down the best burger around! The price ain't too bad either. 200-300 NOK for a whole meal, consisting of a burger, fries, something to drink and dessert works for most people. They also have a decent selection of beers, with a little "tip" for each item in the menu, giving you an easier time choosing a beer for your burger. I would advise you to book a table if you're planning on eating here, due to the popularity of this place, getting a table without reservations might be hard at times. But if you're eating alone you can always sit at the bar. I recommend the spicy burger "Sinte Nils", dirty fries and a chocolate milkshake. Best "feast" you'll have this year! read more

Plan for booking ahead of time, Fridays and Sundays it's almost impossible unless you have booked a week in advance, and be aware they reserve a time boxed slot, not that you can stay longer. We ended up going there twice during our 5 days stay in Stavanger. I think partly because it was one of the few restaurants that opened past 10pm. My husband ordered a BBQ pork burger but the BBQ sauce was too sweet. I ordered the Salmon burger which was actually pretty amazing. The salmon was juicy and tender and well seasoned in soy and ginger sauce. We had onion rings, wings and sweet potato fries. It was ok. We tried their milkshake and it was ok. Nothing spectacular. So for a ok meal with one impressive burger, I would say it is quite a pricey experience. Even with all of the fantastic reviews on TripAdvisor, I was blown away by this place. Started with excellent service at the bar, where I was recommended the local New England Style IPA "It's all about the Citra & Mosaic" by Salikatt, which is hands down one of the best of this style that I've tried. So good that I ordered a second, which is rare, as I like to sample. Ordered the Christmas burger special, which was topped with taleggio cheese, caramelized hazelnuts, bacon shreds, spicy chili mustard, and a blueberry gravy which was savory but with the right amount of sweet. Very inventive burger lacked just a little acid, but the pickle on the side more than made up for it. Meat was phenomenal. Fries were cooked to perfection. Crispy in the outside and soft in the middle. Great aioli for dipping. Completed the meal with a small vanilla milkshake with Kahlua, whiskey, and bananas. Unbelievable. Everything is locally sourced and fresh. Beer menu focuses on Norwegian beers but with some great imports added. Not too overwhelming. Nicely curated. Staff was friendly and attentive.
