I'm a new driver just bought my first car, which was previously inspected by Toyota dealership and…read morechecked out perfectly fine on all ends. I come here because it's close and convenient and from who I've spoken to it seemed to be trustworthy enough place to go for a simple state inspection. They call and tell me its failed inspection due to alignment and will need to pay $130 to fix it. Once again my first car, new driver, and also a young female I don't know what I'm dealing with but I did my research enough to know the alignment would have had to be pretty severe to fail inspection. Long story short, they lied my alignment was perfectly fine before going there and infact I NOW feel like its off since taking my car there and my breaks are also now squeaking when I reverse which never had that issue before. I spoke to Jeff, the owner, man in charge I guess? Not sure what kinda business he's running because it only took me a few interactions with the workers to realize it's a shit show. I was asking for an inspection report because all I was ever given was a receipt, he says it was sent to my email. It never was, so then I have my mother call as they aren't taking me seriously, talking to me like I'm dumb. Jeff quickly switches up the story again and he has no report or records from the work done on my car and that it was sent straight to the MVA. I'm sitting right next to her and I say "Hi Jeff. You said it was sent to my e-mail yesterday and it never was and now you dont have access to the records? I finally come in person and after way too long of back n forth they give me a checklist of what had been done after repeatedly asking and being told there's no records to give me. Glad you cheap asses could make a quick $130 off a young girl not knowing better :) Stay clear of this place its way better ones in sykesville for-sure and that won't lie to make an extra buck

If I could give Will & Freedom Automotive here 50 stars - I would!! Yes... his service is THAT…read moreOUTSTANDING! Here's my personal experience: I brought my car in there a week ago for brakes & an alignment. Not only did he do a simply spectacular job on both - that even the dealership the car came from over its history, could never get actually right... here now, is what outstanding, HONEST SERVICE is all about... So, this past week, I start to notice a "banging" sound whenever I go over a bump, now coming from what seems like somewhere in the front suspension. Boo... very disconcerting! So I call Will - and he says simply "bring it in & I'll have a quick look at it". Yesterday, I bring it in & drop it in the AM, bracing myself for the worst. Will calls me later that afternoon & says "yer all set". - The car has an under-tray with heat-shielding and a lateral "stiffener bar" that the rivets fastening it to the plastic tray itself, had apparently on one side popped loose - so the stiffener arm was banging between the rocker-panel frame & the tray. He tells me it is typical a car it's age (12 years) as the metal rivets eventually vibrate/wear their way through the relatively soft plastic of the tray. So he re-rounded the tray holes & replaced all the rivets with new ones to correspond with the new "fresh" mounting hole sizes created. ..."You're now as good as new!" How much do I owe you, Will? ..."NO CHARGE" -!! :-O What??? ...How's That??? "Well, you know what - when I was doing the alignment & had the tray off - I shoulda probably noticed that - as it was not a sudden thing - and we coulda more simply just fixed it right then & there for you, without you going a week now hearing those bangs & worrying about it... so yeah... no charge - I insist!" How many mechanics out there would have/could have instead called me back a few hours later & quoted some additional $100's of needed suspension parts repair(s) needed? Which... I was fully "braced" for and thoroughly expected. How so totally AWESOME is it to know we have, as so clearly illustrated here - a local, in community mechanic/merchant - with such ethics - that you can absolutely TRUST completely, and without reservation like this!!! I would not hesitate one moment to highly recommend, and TRUST - Freedom Automotive - right here in our little Sykesburg - for any/all your automotive/mechanical service needs. Unequivocally, absolutely!!!

George is realistic about the dealer recommend services, and gave me inputs based on his own experience in order to help me make an informed decision. Another thing that impressed me was, Terry, one of the mechanics, pointed out a rust issue which wasn't a service they performed. When I inquired about suggestions of places where I could get this service performed, George gave me an honest opinion on who he would trust with his own vehicle. These guys are always friendly and have proven to be trustworthy. I've had the opportunity to have a one on one chat with each of the team members and, they all struck me as guys working to earn their living honestly, who take pride in the type of work they produce. It's not easy finding a mechanic you can really trust. I recommend them, and will keep bringing my business here for as long as I'm in the area.

My experience with Sykesville Car Service, SCS, has been 5 star every time I have been there. My…read moremost recent repair was to correct a power steering leak. After 2 bottles of stop leak, I took my 2005 Ford Ranger in for diagnosis and repair. Joe and his crew of experienced and skilled mechanics stayed on this task through repairing the entire power steering lines and testing the repairs using 3 new pumps (none worked) and reinstalling each pump at least once. By best practice this, this required them to consult an older resource who recommended a new rack and pinion component. This proved to be the critical insight to make a durable fix. What is remarkable is that they did not give up despite 10+ days of having the truck there. This is perseverance, professionalism and great service. It's a bonus that they are in Sykesville close enough to walk to. I recommend Sykesville Car Service without reservation and will be using them for my future car/truck repairs.
