All of the instructors are great people and awesome with education. The line of gear that they have here is top of the line and I was fortunate enough to use some of it for my certification and classes. I highly recommend coming here for anything relating to scuba, snorkeling, or travel. The best part about this place is that they really encourage new people to "dive right in". We began at the historic Elmwood Cemetery in Detroit, where a lineup of impactful speakers shared insights on their organizations, our community, and the cemetery's rich history. The group then traveled by bus to Fort Wayne for more educational exploration. I learned so much--insights I'm still unpacking today (March 21). The narrators from City Institute, Outlier Media, and others were phenomenal, making history come alive. I look forward to supporting these organizations and joining future tours. If I could give them "0" stars I would. And here is why.... to start, there were 6 of us total for…read morethis tour. That's $52/person. So here is the breakdown of what that got us. This is a long story of epic fails. - a generic meet up point on a gps map, to which when we got there, there were no signs or anyone in a blue DFX shirt standing in the open waiting for us. We had to basically talk out loud and then a guy sitting down near us wandered over and realized we were his group. He did have a dfx shirt on, but hidden underneath another long sleeve button up shirt. -No bus. See photo. It was raining, and we are expecting to be driven around. My girl ran a 10K that morning with the distinct impression she wouldn't be walking around Detroit. -We start out a block from the coney places, but for some reason were guided to the furthest away place first. To which we are walking in greektown to Pizza Papalis. The guide walks us past the place until one of our crew states we are at the end of greektown near the freeway. To which the guide replied "sorry, I was looking at my phone". Keep in mind it is drizzling and we are all hungry. -We then turn around and finally get to the first stop "Pizza Papalis" to which we are seated and basically told that it takes 45min for their signature deep dish to be cooked. So basically we figured out that this should've been the last stop. So we have to settle on a thin crust pizza which isn't their best signature food... so what's the point? Our guide ordered two larges, so basically we eat about 1, and then now have to carry full carryout boxes of pizza to the next stop. -next is the Golden Fleece, also in greektown. We walk 5 buildings down stomachs absolutely full of pizza and sit down. The waitress stated that we were early. 45 minutes early, so nothing was prepared. Which got us "looks" from the guy cutting the lamb. Which reconfirmed we were going in the wrong order. The food here was great, but our tour guide spilled an entire water on the table in front of me. There will be another section later about the guide. So we are full on pizza and only eat a few gyros and again I now have multiple FULL carryout boxes I'm carting around Detroit in the rain. -the last stop is lafayette coney island. On the way we are like, I wonder which is better american or lafayette, we shouldn't have to choose right? See pic, well our guide made us choose as we were walking. So we go to Lafayette. These coneys are good! However our guide pays then comes back to the table and says that's it, tour is complete. So we never even went to american which is literally attached next door!!! -Our guide was out of place. He was a nice person, but he literally had ZERO facts about any of the places we went to. He had a lack of awareness of where we were walking to. He had to continuously look at an email on a piece of paper to try and figure out what we were supposed to be doing. He mistakenly took us on the tour backwards. He left our group multiple times at each food place for 10 minutes at a time to go smoke cigarettes. He spilled pizza and water on our tables. He actually got up from our table at Lafayette for so long that someone else took his seat. Then he tries to sell us on DFX at the end and just leaves with his food. Are tour guides supposed to leave with multiple boxes of food that the customer pays for??? This is probably an enigma tour in comparison to everything else I've seen or read about with DFX. But my major concern is this, we were all from the Detroit surrounding areas, and I got the impression our guide thought this gave him a "lazy pass". Maybe he was hungover, maybe he wasn't the normal guide, maybe he was disgruntled because he had plans that Saturday and now had to be in rainy Detroit, who knows.... BUT If we were out of town tourists, there would be a horrible feeling of being taken advantage of that would make you never want to come back. That pisses me off as a Michigan/Metro Detroit resident of 30+ years. It was bad representation of the turnaround the city is trying to accomplish and we felt like we had gotten fleeced out of our $52 per person. Nothing was learned, nothing was gained except a bloated stomach, an indecision of which coneys are better, and some sore wet feet.

Our experience with the host Andrew and this rare gem of a property was the best we have ever experienced. We all fell in love with this tucked away little paradise of a home and we will definitely be back! From our initial interactions with Andrew it was clear that he was an exceptional host - warm and caring, as well as incredibly responsive and attentive to the smallest details. Our group of 8 consisted of 4 adults, 2 toddlers, and 2 seniors and from the moment we opened the door we were all instantly enamoured with the house. We arrived to bright afternoon rays beaming into the sunroom and lighting up the large open concept main floor which beckoned all of us over to bask in the warm afternoon light on comfortable couches. And as we continued to settle into the remarkable house we were thrilled with all the details that seemed to anticipate our every desire... the large deck overlooking the river, the luxurious bathrooms, the generous stash of board games and entertainment, the spacious and fully outfitted kitchen complete with a pro waffle iron and complimentary waffle mix, the plush and incredibly comfortable beds, the working fire place... and of course the massive ships slipping by majestic and silent. We had plenty of space to sprawl out on the main floor and each find our own little quiet nook when we wanted one and we all slept wonderfully well even with two toddlers just down the hall from each other. I really cannot say enough about this incredible property and strongly recommend it to anyone - whether you're a large group like us or a couple looking for a romantic retreat - it's an absolutely magical little spot!

They are 2nd year owners taking over from previous owners that ran it 35+ years. They are so very gracious and to think re-visiting where I grew up "was" going to do a 3 stay hotel in Marysville till I looked up the rates for the Heather and for over the major July 4th the room daily fee was a mere $42.00 more a night and included a no joke "Chef Gordon Ramsey" quality breakfast every morning. We got to see all the rooms being nobody was there yet for that day and it took a few days to see every detail. Pictures don't do enough so to see in person was a treat and every room is decorated it's own way. The place is really quiet also even when other people were around it's just really nice and we didn't hear anything the whole three days there just when people came down for breakfast. You get your own front door key to come and go as you please anytime the front door locks behind you. The A/C in the rooms are perfect and whisper quiet never heard such a quiet unit before no motel ones are like that. TV, internet, every room a bathroom some have a jacuzzi. Bed was high end and so were the sheets and pillows. Everything you need is there to use even a hair dryer on the wall. Lots of storage for clothes and other furniture to sit on besides a bed. Everything antique is just amazing and talk about super clean. Every room has it's own balcony and you can just look out and see the freighters going by in the St. Clair river. That coffee quality is something I never had before and asked them what they use and said we get in Port Huron specially made in a coffee house. Amazing inside that as well but the Heather owners are the best so being the previous owners were awesome for many years, these two young people have a huge reputation to uphold and they are doing just that. Can't say enough about them and the experience staying there. The breakfasts are 8:30 and we chose the front window table for 2 every morning full service facing the river they bring everything to you this is not buffet it's full service included in price. They have a real large table for multiple people to have breakfast also. NEVER had breakfasts like these before that good and so unique and every day is different not repeated. For the rates and what you get who needs a boring common motel that can cost this easily and more most of the time for each night and just maybe get a generic breakfast. The Heather B&B is a hidden treasure and been there so many years. Post this and share comments. People may think a historic B&B is high priced but search rooms by name and rates you'll find this is a bargain and very special.

I ended up getting a ticket for myself and a friend of mine as it was just something to do to get out of the house. From the ticket, it appeared that we were only able to visit for an hour, but once we arrived they told us we can stay as long as we'd like. It's somewhat of a Pop up exhibit with multiple rooms. We were able to take lots of photos and videos of the exhibit. Lots of bright colors and some cool spooky/Halloween related themes as the event was called "In Search or Halloween". Everyone seemed to be trying to keep their distance which was great. The owners are having a fall pop up exhibit and a winter one coming soon which I will definitely check out as something fun to do. Good times!

The greatest thing about it was that we were allowed to walk through the exhibit/enchanted warehouse over and over during our slot, so we really got our money's worth. They required wearing of masks and social distancing was observed and it was nice cause it was just us and a couple other small groups when we went inside. The place was clean, sanitizers were provided, the colors were astounding and views were amazingly good, would love to visit again before this experience ends in November.
