Went on a cruise with this company and although it was a sponsered event, several things were very wrong with this cruise. One they allowed smokers even though they sell liqour and beer and according to Michigan law it is illegal to do that. Secondly they were severing partons beer until they were so drunk they could barely stand to get off of the boat and were about to get into their cars. Talk about irresponsible bartending, I would would be a witness in the even one of those poeple injured or killed someone. God know what other safety violations they may have.....take your life in your own hands. read more

Clinton River Cruise - One of three cruise boats - Boat Charters Near Me - Mount Clemens, Michigan

There are not many boat cruises available in this area, even though southeast Michigan is in part of the Great Lakes system. That said, I have taken rides with the Clinton River Cruise on several occasions. Each time was with a group reservation, with catered buffet. The cruises really never venture out into unprotected waters, they simply afford a comfortable ride from downtown Mount Clemens to the mouth of the Clinton River, with a turn around in Lake St. Clair and return. They always have adequate seating, refreshments available, an occasional live band. The atmosphere aboard is light and lively, but in my case, that also depended on the group I was with. During periods of foul weather, they have nice side curtains what allow great views in an enclosed ship. For a pleasant outdoor activity, I couldn't recommend this company more. read more

Our tour was on October 1st and it was a great time. The staff is very nice, boat very clean and it's definitely a great scenic tour. Very relaxing and once you get to the bay and see the vastness of the lake and how beautiful it is....words can't describe it. The lunch buffet was hot, delicious and definitely more than enough to feed all those on board for the cruise. Water and coffee is available no charge, otherwise there is a cash bar on hand for soda and other beverages. We would love to do the tour again! read more

First I want to say that the actual cruise is lovely and the food is very good...but only if you go on it as an individual evening out. If you are considering hosting an event and will not be filling the whole boat then please read further to see what happened to us for our wedding. I had heard of this venue from a co-worker who hosted a grad party on an afternoon cruise. Her event did not fill the boat so she was warned that other customers might be also on the cruise. My fiancé and I met with Jamie, this company's coordinator, back in the winter to plan our wedding. We told Jamie that we would only have about 35-40 guests and that we knew that there could be other customers on our wedding cruise. Both of us were told by Jamie, " Oh no, we would not do that to you. You don't want strangers on your wedding day." I said "Are you sure?" "Yes, we won't do this to you". This was told to us multiple times, including when I gave my final count to Jamie the week before our wedding. We arrive for our wedding to find that there were 20 others on the boat, I thought that these people might be on the wrong boat and met with Jamie. I was told," I'm sorry, my boss made me put them on your cruise". We wanted to know why we weren't called and informed of this change...no answer. We asked to see her boss (who we met when we first arrived) and she said she" didn't know where he was"...then it was "I don't think I can get a hold of him"...ect. We asked for her to call him and she just sat there. She then held out our contract and back peddled by saying "it says right here, that you had to have 80 passengers". On that contract, signed in the winter, was my crossing out the 80 and writing 'per Jamie'. We were stuck with the strangers on the cruise, given $$$ to compensate (which totaled 20 x their fare) and told "they are not allowed to be on the lower deck where our reception was being held. that our 'trellis' that we were going to be married under was set up downstairs,,,it was suppose to be on the upper deck. LIES, LIES, LIES. 1. Right away, the non guests were lining up for drinks on our level. I became concerned because I was paying for my guests bar bill..how would the bartended know who was my guest or the other cruisers? The bartender patted my hand and said, "Don't worry, honey, they're paying cash". Nope, at the end of the cruise, they were down 'cashing out on their TAB'. After we got home, I found drinks added to my bill that none of my guests ordered. 2. These guests, also came downstairs and got in line at our buffet to eat...I thought that they didn't know and I said, "Excuse me, this food is for our wedding". The 'steward' came up to me and told me that " they are allowed to come down, they paid for a dinner cruise, we've been doing this for 41 yrs ", So much for not being allowed down on our deck! All of my guests did have a good time although some of the ladies told me that they were concerned about their purses with the other people coming down to our deck. Besides all of the lies, it was also told to me about the despairing remarks and names I was called by the female bartender who my new stepson heard her say....he was our best man...and she didn't even know that he was part of the wedding guests! I was asked if I had a good time by the DJ, and I was honest and said,"Not really". He asked if I would like to talk to a manager and I replied, "yes" and I waited, and waited and waited..No one showed up. I know that this is lengthy, but I need to warn everyone who is considering this....DO NOT TRUST WHAT THEY TELL YOU. Jamie also told me that night, "If you had 40 people on the boat, I would have let it slide". I replied, "Oh, come on Jamie, we have 36." She then backtracked and said "40 Adults". NO WHERE ON THE CONTRACT DID IT STATE ADULTS....IT STATED PASSENGERS" . There was no limit to the lies. In my mind, I don't think they would stop at 80..if there is a way that they can increase their profits by putting more people on the boat they will! BEWARE !! P.S. Even though there wasn't any trellis to get married under..(another lie), my actual ceremony was very memorable thanks to Nicole of A Simple I Do....but the lies told and stress that this company caused ruined my memories. The Captain's Landing, connected to The Clinton River Cruise Company, is an amazing place to dine in the summer. The atmosphere is incredible- right on the Clinton River on the back of a boat, so to speak. It's all open air, but the heat lamps keep you comfortable on cool summer nights. The wait staff is personable, friendly and attentive. The new cook this season is rocking it. Highly recommend you try the salmon. Whatever you do, don't miss this quaint little place on the river. My only hesitation in writing this review is that I won't get my usual table next time I visit. read more

The trip was enjoyable. However the food was horrific. The price of the tickets are $32.50 and the meal was not edible. Mystery loaf, runny potatoes and old lettuce. A little music might have been nice too. I had planned to bring my group again but I will not. read more

I have been on this cruise 4 times in the summer months. I will say although the boat is a bit rustic, it is very charming ! The 2 1/2 hr adventure is a smooth ride up the Clinton River to the opening of Lake Saint Clair. IT DOES NOT GO OUT INTO OPEN WATER ! Always get there a bit early to makes sure we get a table on the upper deck. Best view and after we eat, I sit on the backseats on the back of the boat where it's not covered, so some sun and wind is fine. They serve a tasty lunch and dinner cruise. Not a 5 star gourmet meal but very well served and really quite tastey. The meal is served on lower level, buffet style, includes tea,coffee, and desserts. Beer, wine and mixed drinks are available for purchase. Weekends book up fast and Fall cruise are beautiful. Cruisers range from young to Senior's to families. We cruised on a Saturday evening and there was a 40th Birthday party. Very nicely decorated and the crew serving was very tentative to the party. *note* There has never been problem passengers on any cruise we have taken. I believe handicap accessible, although I would call for more info. Restrooms on both levels. All and all for a local adventure and well priced it's well worth the ride ! read more
