He did four projects for me while I was out of town for five days: First, Joe installed beautifully sanded and stained trim around a vertically stacked window in my loft room. Second, he installed new wood steps with handrails on my back porch. He added more width to the stairs than I previously had so that two people could walk down the steps together comfortably. The railings were sturdily installed. I could not have been more pleased by the safety and roominess of the steps and railings. For several years I lived with an unsightly sway in the middle of my back porch because two of the supports were rotting. Joe had to dig out a lot of rock to install the new posts. With the sway removed and new steps added, the porch looks practically new. Joe also put an aluminum patch over a woodpecker hole inmy cedar siging under the gabel on the fron of the house. The work was dangerous because of the steep angle needed to set the ladder high up from a very narrow front porch. The patch was hardily noticible, blending with the color of the naturalized cedar. It was an affordable solution that avoided having to replace the cedar siding. How wonderful tit was to come back home after a five day trip and find all this work expertedly finished. Tony's Drain and Sewer Tried to Drain Our Wallet Instead…read more.. My husband and I called Tony's Drain and Sewer because a contractor recommended them, and we had a stubborn main line blockage. They sent over a technician who attempted to rod the line but couldn't get the equipment in. He gave up and stuck a camera in there. My uncle is a general contractor/handyman with over 30 years of experience, and he's run into this exact issue before with our plumbing. Last time we had this issue, he told us it was likely root intrusion, and that it just needs yearly maintenance. Unfortunately, we didn't keep up with the maintenance, and he lives across the country, so we couldn't exactly fly him in for an emergency toilet rescue. Tony's charged us for a camera inspection and promised to send a quote. The next day? Boom! "$7,500 minimum"... And that didn't even include landscaping repairs. For that kind of money, I was expecting front row VIP tickets to see Dave Chapelle, since clearly, Tony's team thinks they're in the comedy business. Thankfully, we got a second opinion. Another plumbing company with over 20 years of experience came out, scoped it out, and spent about 3 hours clearing the line and doing a full inspection afterward. It was a root blockage and some baby wipes. They got to the root of the problem (yes, pun intended) for just $300. Moral of the story: Don't flush wipes. Also, don't flush your money down the drain with Tony's. Always get a second opinion. 0/10, would not recommend!

Had Jim and his team repaint all of the window frames on the exterior of our house. He did a great…read morejob. He sanded everything down smoothly. Resealed all the windows. Put on a couple layers of paint. It looks great. The house has clean lines now. This really improved its curb appeal. Overall, he was very friendly, responsive, and professional. I hired this wanna be painter after a recommendation from a neighbor,..big mistake! I first met with Jim to discuss the work to be done in our house and to receive an estimate for the work to be preformed...Jim seem like a nice guy, talked alittle fast, but all and all, i liked him..so i hired him. We agreed on a price for the work to be done via a text estimate, .really? So i never did receive a written estimate even after weeks of them being in my house making a complete mess.. And i ask several times if i could get it so we can Both know exactly what i was receiving for the amount we discussed, but no, never got one. So, i let these guys in my house "alone" to paint. Not sure exactly why i trusted this fugazi.. But i did. So first let me say, we verbally discussed that he would fix all the holes and deflections on the walls before painting..plus, he was painting my trim again white and he would refill nail holes, fix caulk and fix up any dings or dented up corners from were and tear.. The very first day i come home and i should of fired them then. They had family room close to complete. Walls painted, trim painted and ceiling begun. At first i was surprised how much they completed.. Buy after closer inspection, they made no real attempt to fix anything. A light spakle job over holes, not sanded, then painted right over.. Looked like a 4 year old did it! So i call him with no response. So i figured I'd let them continue, maybe the next day there would be an improvement.. Um nope..more work done, same shit quality.. So i get ahold of jim and say we need to meet. The next day Jim meets with me and we have a long discussion about what i expect quality wise. I explained its been a long time coming and i want my job as close to perfect as possible. He assured me it would be the best job ever, so i let them continue...i did tell him though, that our furniture in the living and dining room was quite expensive, including drapes, and to please be very careful with this stuff. The next day i come home to all of our stuff that we had out of the way in a corner of the dinning room, all over the dining room table and nothing covered. These guys literally just tossed this stuff onto the table, with complete disregard. We've been pampering this table for 10 years, it cost $8,000! These fucks are gonna come in and with one sweep ruin the fucking thing,..really? So despite this, i let them continue.. Everyday i would come home to more disappointment..bad patch jobs, crooked lines at he ceilings, bad cut ins, one coat paint you can see the other color underneath.. So again i meet with jim.. He rest assures me i will be 100% hsppy when hes done..i point out a whole bunch of stuff to fix that he says wil be perfect..the next day, i come home, what do i see, half ass fix jobs on almost everything, some stuff he didnt do at all.. I call him up and we talk...Again! So he tells me.." when we are all done, you go thru and mark everything and i'll fix it".. I was like " but every cut on every ceiling and next to all the casings and along all the chairrail is crooked,..you are gonna come back and fix it all?" And his reply was "yes, we will cut it in straight, if you mark it".. Really guy? Why the fuck didnt you just cut it in strsight the first time? You plan on coming back and recutting everthing in straight later, come on? Plus they got paint all over my appliances and hardwood floor..who does this? Maybe we will find out you cant cut in straight at all. So i finally ended up firing him. I ended up paying him infull for a complete fucki g mess of an unfinished job.. At the end i remember him telling me when we first met,.."i was a carpenter for many years before painting"... Well, lesson learned, dont hire a carpenter to do your painting.. Hire a painter... NOT THIS JAMOKE! NO STARS!
