I hired Ruther Construction to tear off my roof and replace it with an owens corning roof…read more They started my job within just 2 weeks and did a complete tear off of layers that had to go back to the early 1900s when the house was built, must have been 2 layers of shake and 2 layers of shingles, and replaced it with a new owens corning roof with all the trimmings on my 2 story with attched 1 story addition in just 3 days. He was even willing to negotiate details of the job that other roofing companies would not consider to lower the costs, such as my providing the 30 yard dumpster and haul away. His crew made sure that they did an efficent job cleaning up and making sure that all trash and debri made it into that dumpster as well. I had been taking bids on that roof for over 2 years and Derrick took pride in outshining them all with first his price and then his performance. The job was completed on a Saturday except for 1 roof vent with a manufacture defect that we could not purchase until the following Monday. Even though Derrick had been paid in full for the project, he showed back up personally and installed the vent him self without having to be hounded to finish it. I needed a new gutter installed after that and i was so happy with Derricks performance on the job, Derrick and he had proved to me that his companies reputation and that my satisfaction was his number 1 personal concern, that i just gave him the gutter work no bid. 2 Stars -- Refund Eventually Resolved, But the Process Was Extremely Frustrating…read more My experience with Burrage Roofing was very frustrating, particularly when it came to getting my refund after deciding not to move forward with the roofing project. I had been repeatedly following up with Lynn regarding the return of my funds. I was given assurances that the refund would be handled, but the money continued to be delayed. I even provided the requested banking information and followed up when I still had not received the refund. What is especially upsetting is that Kendrick, one of the owners, ultimately contacted me and refunded the money immediately. That showed me that the situation could have been resolved much sooner. In fact, based on what happened, I don't understand why Lynn could not have handled this the same way on September 5, when I was already trying to get the refund resolved. I spent days following up, worrying about my money, and dealing with unnecessary frustration when the issue apparently could have been taken care of much sooner. I do give Kendrick credit for stepping in and resolving the issue quickly once he became involved. However, the fact that it took that intervention to finally get my money back left a very bad impression. For anyone considering Burrage Roofing, my advice is to read the contract carefully, keep all communications in writing, and stay on top of your money throughout the process. Ultimately, I did receive my refund, but the way the situation was handled before Kendrick stepped in was extremely disappointing and unnecessary.
