I have a lot to say about this company, and please note that this in no way is intended to be defamatory, merely opinions about my experience and how I perceived the situation through my own eyes. But again, simple opinions. So lets get into it, I had arranged for this local company to load and unload my heavy items and various boxes when moving across town. I found them on the U-Haul Helpers page as the cheapest option and I think I know why. The time for the helper's arrival was 9am until 11am and had been confirmed twice. On moving day, I tried confirming once more around 8:45am that they would be there at 9am. The manager called me about 10 minutes later saying that he forgot to give his guys a heads up the night prior but they would be there about 9:45am, and that's alright because I understand mistakes happen. So I hung around for 45 minutes that should have been spent moving, they still did not arrive. Then, I get a text message saying that the movers will be there at 12:30. So I call the boss back up because at this point, I was over being understanding and respectful. He confirmed that the movers would be there at 12:30 because they had another appointment at 3pm that was close to my vicinity. Once they finally arrive at 12:30, I was greeted with two people who, in my opinion, were disrespectful in a lot of ways to a paying customer. When being told what items I needed moving, they seemed to not be listening since I only mentioned about 6 items and began moving all the small items I intended on leaving at our previous residence. About 20 minutes later they had the items I needed moved into the truck. I told them that I would meet the two guys at the new residence. They responded with "oh we're helping you unload too?" with a little bit of attitude and eye rolling in my opinion, even though my confirmation was clear that this would be a load and an unload. However, it seems they were reluctant, but they still drove to the unload location. Everything seemed just fine there except for what I perceived as an uncaring expression and attitude. Following this move, I was not going to tip them at all, in my opinion they did not deserve it at all. I tried avoiding the topic and saying that I did not have any cash on me, but they PROMPTLY responding, the only energy and customer service I had seen from them, with "oh we has cashapp and venmo." Now I understand that I could have chosen to be honest and say that I did not think they deserved it, but I felt a little pressured to give them a tip since they knew where I lived. This might not be a concern for others, but it definitely raises my anxiety to have people with a potential to come for me in some ways. Now I am not saying that they would have at all, but from the situation that I experienced, I felt a little uncomfortable if I did not give them a tip. Last thing to note is that I was told that we would work out a refund of some sort for the inconvenience and yet no one has reached out to my knowledge. I do not intend contacting them because it feels like an unnecessary battle on my end that I will lose in the end. I am posting this review on many pages because I truly do not want others to have the same experience as I have. I am sure that some have had good experiences with this company, but I would like for this to never happen to anyone else, especially when you are on a strict timetable and end up moving all by yourself even though you had hired movers to tend to the heavy items. read more
