The owner Frank came out for the estimate was our contact point throughout the process. We had to change dates a few times and each time he and his office could not have been more gracious. moving short distance out of town, owner comes over and inspects and gives price and tells us to pack as much as we are able and that we could pay after unloaded at destination. Pay with a check. This wasn't the case at all and without getting into too many details, this "business" should be investigated. They have interesting rules about how to use their dumpsters and what they will do. No organization or checklist of items or proper instructions to the workers and lots of chat on cell phones between at least one of them and the boss (who shows up to price and is only an angry voice on the other line afterwards.) The move was pathetic with broken items, nasty phone calls, employees breaking items on purpose, treating us terribly. Only to end it with a shakedown and demand for cash or no unload. Do not trust FB reviews as anything other than a decent or manufactured positive review will be deleted. For one example of honesty and fair business practices, just look at their FB page. All five stars? About as authentic as the title "movers". Look around the net before using this group or you will be sorry and unable to forget what should be a great day in one's life. These people are jokes. They came in on Saturday, and it was obvious they did not want to work. They complained that we weren't ready for them because we still had some personal belongings on some end tables and the dresser. The lead mover called his boss and exaggerated the situation. They took what was already in their truck and brought it back in the house and said their boss told them to leave. There was plenty of work for them to do while we took 15 minutes to clear the furniture. They were also unhappy about a very heavy granite table. When I told them that, that was why I hired 4 men, one of them said that the reason they had 4 men there was because they didn't like working Saturday and it was so they could get done faster. Now I'm scrambling to find someone that can move me ASAP. read more

Our experience started in a very positive way. C&F was recommended by our highly trusted real estate agent. Our move was complicated and required flexibility, and we appreciated the experience and efficiency exhibited in the pre-move process. The moving crew was efficient and professional and rolled with some very unexpected difficulties over our two day move. The surprises occurred subsequent. We were not told that we had to deliver our two cars that C&F was transporting to C&F's facility. We agreed to have C&F transport them, at above-market rates, because Frank assured us C&F was transporting them. We later found out the transport was a subcontracted job. In the midst of moving out of our home, we then had to deliver two cars to C&F's facility, a process which took over six hours. We were traveling home by motor home and encountered a disaster. We ended up stuck in Georgia for almost two weeks while our motor home was being repaired. We kept in touch with C&F about our dilemma, concerned about the timing of the delivery of our cars as well as our household goods. In the midst of this crisis, we received a surprise bill by email, for an extra 20% over the already very high amount we already paid. This additional bill was a flat price invoice with no description of the charges. We had paid the original invoice in full in advance, in good faith, by wire. We knew we had some overages, but not to that extent. No one had called to warn us of this bill, and when we called to ask for details, the response was not exactly warm. Frank, the owner, called back, screaming and cursing, berating us for having the nerve to "insult" his team without asking a question, accusing us of using foul language and being unappreciative of their hard work. In fact, we had only called to understand the additional charges before paying them. We were in the midst of our own nightmare and were surprised by high additional surcharges but would pay what was fair if the charges were supported. We understand that moving is expensive. He berated me so much that I could no longer talk to him, and he called my partner. Frank apologized, eventually, for his rudeness, his tone, his insults, for hanging up on me twice. After he listened for five minutes to the incredible stress we were under and how concerned we were about the impact on upholding our end of the moving deliverables, he agreed to reassess the charges and told us not to worry about paying the additional invoice immediately. True to our word, we found a friend to take delivery of our cars. We called regularly to let C&F know of our progress, and when we would be home, as we promised. When we had a firm date, we had another incredibly unpleasant encounter, this time with Frank's daughter, who simply demanded the extra charges be paid immediately or "no delivery". There were verbal threats that the moving trucks would be turned around and returned to Florida and our entire household goods would be held hostage in a warehouse. Frank made a few calls, between 6:00 and 7:00 a.m., replacing a "hello" greeting with "what the hell is wrong with you?". We arrived home, finally, about 36 hours before the eventual delivery of our household goods. We had a tragic family death the day before and were making funeral arrangements, and Frank called at 5:55 a.m. the day of delivery (a day earlier than originally agreed) screaming nothing would be delivered till the wire was confirmed. The movers on the delivery end themselves did a fine job. Nothing was broken or mistreated. They were polite and courteous and friendly and clearly had many years experience, although only one of them was a direct employee of C&F. We have both moved many times, in all manners, from friends with trucks and cars to high end professional movers. I once moved internationally. I even moved in a nor'easter with less stress. But, never, have I encountered the vitriol and poison and rudeness exhibited by the owner of a company. It's a shame too, because his wife / partner is professional and deals with the chaos of the operations. His employees are professional and competent and in our difficult circumstances, adapted to those circumstances on the spot. AVOID C&F Movers because if you move one inch out of Frank's favor, your precious household goods may be threatened, you yourself may be threatened and if you comparison shop, you may find his rates very high and the service simply not worth being eviscerated before sunrise. read more

My parents... 83... Used C & F Movers... 5 mile move... Into BRAND NEW apartment! I was out of the country... My bad! I had a bad vibe... I thought "odd" HEAVY dining room table top "propped" against wall leading into bedroom! My friend & I moved... Found out why! They gauged & bent the metal in drywall... A HOLE , damaged woodwork, The 2 year old dining room table... Well... It looks as if a nails were driven through it! They avoided speaking with my soft spoken, lovely mom.. I contacted the owner, Frank Palermo... He would not speak with me... Called my mom back... Myself, my stepdad, my friend present... We could hear him... Near screaming... Disrespecting her, implying she's a liar! Could not be bothered... " I'm sure your grandchildren are responsible for ALL damages!" Before hanging up... "Have your attorney call mine... Good luck!" I should mention... There are no children in the home.. Grand or otherwise! I spoke to "receptionist" prior... I offered to send the "walk in video" prior to their moving in, time stamped photos of damages... She did not care... Frankly, made clear... We will not talk to you... Nevermind the fact the contracts were signed by an email attached to me! I said I understand... You would prefer to intimidate an, 83 year old woman in poor health rather than I have a civil conversation with her son... She didn't disagree... The way that "man" ( Frank) spoke with my mom... Tells you all you need to know about, Frank Palermo... an aggressive, angry, disrespectful to a woman, a senior woman at that... It takes a lot to offend me... He managed in 45 seconds! Frank is not only the estimator but also the owner.....he was 20 minutes late for our appointment when I received a call from the office that he was behind schedule but on the way. I said that he should have called me to let me know since my time is valuable as well! He called me one minute later and told me that maybe I should find another moving company and hung up on me. Do yourself a favor and don't. My personal move lacked professionalism, curiosity , communication, and integrity. I called the day before to confirm and was told they would give me an hours notice. No one called or came by 10am so I called them and was told by 11 or 12 am. still no came until 1pm. This was only the start of the day. It appears they scheduled a move prior to mine and yet no one let me know. It was such an uncomfortable move. The movers were so rude. They left without letting me know they were leaving and left me stuck with item that I didn't have enough room in my car for. I had to make another trip back the next day to retrieve them. They Broke a leg off of a dresser and the said oh that was loose. At this point I had had enough and got smart with one and called him hon. He got mad and stated not to call him that, so I finally said then be professional and do your damn job that you'r getting paid to do. Yes I still tipped them 50 each because I know how hard moving is. I am 63 and had everything already broken down for them and how hard that was for me. Infact it put me in the ED the day before. They could see I was in pain and not moving well , and yet they took advantage of that instead of helping me to lifting heavy things. The owner did call and apologize at 9pm, and said he could only take off the travel time ( which wasn't even an hour) , and that he would speak with them. It's my opinion that the owner got involved all throughout the move by going back and forth with the movers while the move was taking place, even though I asked him to please wait till after the move so it didn't make things to uncomfortable and yet he didn't, and so it caused exactly that! We contacted C&F Movers 2 months prior to our needing a Grandfather's Clock packed & moved from Florida to Texas. We set a date up for our request to happen & we confirmed the appointment a few weeks prior to the date. We were contacted early in the week to ensure that their services were still needed & we were contacted again the day before to confirm the time they'd be arriving. On the day they were suppose to be at our door @ 10 AM to pack & ship no one arrived & no one called to inform us of any change in plans. Later that afternoon we did finally receive a call, we were told that a job they were currently on was running late & would we like them coming that evening between 7 & 8 or the next morning. As we had several things needing to be done the next day, we told their representative that between 7 & 8 that night would be great - no worries. No, they didn't show up - that night, the next morning or any day at all. They didn't call, they didn't answer the phone & we were unable to leave any messages as the # we'd been given kept requesting a PIN # in order to leave a message. To date we've not received any correspondence or contact what so ever. This company was completely unprofessional & we would not recommend them at all to anyone. read more

We ordered a local moving service with the company. They told us to be there at 7AM but were late more than an hour. They probably damaged at least one item, but at this point it was difficult to be 100% sure who damaged it and when, so we let it go. Still, there was a time to pay. They wanted cash or check only. Since they told me to be there early in the morning, I totally forgot to bring enough cash or check. I called the management, but they started yelling at me telling me that I give her cash or else she will charge me $150 per hour just for me to get to the bank and bring cash. I offered that I take one of the guys and drive with me to give him the money, but they declined the reasonable offer. All in all, I end up paying $150 per hour for the guys lying on the grass. This is something a reasonable customer would never expect, but it really happened. The guys working for the company were understanding and did a good job, but the management failed in all aspect of a professional business. I would never recommend C&F Movers unless you want to go through hell and stress dealing with the management. read more

Don't be fooled by the North Port address! If you hire C&F, they will tell you they charge from the time they leave the shop until they return. This is true, but the shop is in Punta Gorda!!! They will not tell you that. So I paid an extra $180 for travel to and from the shop! Also, I'm still looking for curio cabinet clips that they removed and I can't find. This company canceled the day before my move. I was told over the phone, while driving the moving truck, that he hadn't noticed before that I was coming from out of state and his movers didn't want to take a chance because of COVID so my contract with them didn't matter. I asked Chris if he could help me find another mover as my husband and I are older and couldn't possibly unload the moving truck. He wasn't interested or the slightest bit sympathetic. I'm sure that my move was not the typical one for this firm. The office people were polite and tried to accommodate but seemed they were getting bad input from someone in charge. The proposal was written up wrong not once but multiple times. Not the clerks fault. The estimator seemed to become confused as when he did the estimate it included packing but in discussions forgot that and got upset over all the changes that were necessary to try and get this right. The firm came recommended and I suspect they are good for certain moves. But I also feel that their estimator needs to work on his listening skills and his memory retention. Too bad, we almost hired them but feel lucky this came out before and not during our move. read more

This is probably your absolute worst choice in moving companies. They just moved my friends mother who is 83 years old into a brand new apartment and left three real nice gouges in one of the corners of the wall. They also put what looks like a screwdriver through the dining room table and they left this dining room table leaning up against the wall where the dents are. When I went over there with my friend and we moved the table out of the way and saw the hole in it and then the damage to the wall and attempted to contact Frank the owner of the company. We were met with nothing but hostility and threats. This is absolutely uncalled for and unexcusable. For one you should not be treating the elderly in such a fashion. And for him not to even come out and look at the damage and take such a defensive and aggressive type of attitude is beyond unprofessional. If Frank Palermo or anyone from his company suggests that they might actually take good care of the items that are precious to you, I highly suggest that you find someone else, anyone else, anyone but Frank and his company. read more

I have a 2 bedroom with a den and a few pieces of exceptionally heavy pieces the men just went about the task without issue. These guys did an awesome job! I had been in my house 20 years, it was a key west style and most of my furniture was on the second floor.And I had several very heavy glass and mirror cabinets and tables that I was really worried about. Also several paintings over 7 feet tall, and some very heavy furniture. But they arrived right on time, were very polite, friendly, fast and professional. I have just had the worst experience with C & F Movers. This was the fourth time that I have used them, and am stunned about what has happened. Some of my property has not been returned to me, and Frank has admitted to having it. This includes all of my family photos. They are worthless to anyone but me. Frank has given no explanation as to why he will not return my property, and they are no longer taking my phone calls. I even offered to come and get them, but was told not to go there. I just want them to be honest with me. If I am not getting my property, at least do me the simple decency to tell me why and tell me what happened. Well, I just found out that C & F has told WINK News that they do not have my property, and have no idea where it is. Hmm, guess either way he is a liar. Behaved as if he was moving me free of charge. When I gave Frank a list of missing items, his response was. "I'll call you back." After 2 months I am still awaiting his call. My antique Bosendorfer grand piano received significant damage after him telling me he employs proper piano movers. "I guarantee that piano will arrive safely." There was no "proper piano mover" who showed up at my home to unload. Damage to piano included broken parts on key assembly, broken and lost lid hinges. It was stupid to remove the lid in the first place. I asked that the lid not be removed, but that request fell upon deaf ears. Hey Frank! That's why there are locks on the lid!!! The gentleman that came to the home to give the estimate was great. Our items were loaded into a storage unit. After seeing that they placed it into the unit terribly, they returned to rearrange it better, which is greatly appreciated. After finally getting the items out of storage unit 3 months later we noticed the following...One large oak corner cabinet had it's glass shelves left inside. It was wrapped in green shrink wrap so it went unnoticed, until they banged around while being carried into the house. The corners of the glass shelves were broken. Why they took the glass shelves out of the large cabinet and not the corner cabinet is the question!? We couldn't find the hardware to the oak table, but finally found them thrown into the vacuum cleaner box! Many boxes and plastic bins were smashed and the plastic bins that were loaded with non-breakable items, were broken at the corners and the lids broken. That showed me that the movers didn't care about our items. All china and kitchen items made it safely, except two items. Heavy boxes were placed on top of light boxes in the storage unit which smashed the lighter boxes. read more
