As a SENIOR CITIZEN and a FIRST TIME HOME SELLER, I asked Carolina to EDUCATE me on the PROCESS of SUCCESSFULLY selling my home. I had done initial research and found my home was VALUED at 833k. I told Carolina that I would accept NO LESS than 800k. In March 2018, Carolina INSISTED we list the home at 739k so that a BIDDING WAR WOULD ENSUE. What Carolina DIDN'T DO is EDUCATE me on the CONSEQUENCES should a bidding war NOT ENSUE. Carolina was DETERMINED to sell my home for 739k. This FULFILLED her contract to me in FULL. At NO TIME did Carolina display any interest in meeting MY 800k MINIMUM GOAL. I asked Carolina to CALL me after the ONE and ONLY OPEN HOUSE she hosted. Carolina responded by saying " if I'm calling you i'm not working on selling your house ". At that point Carolina told me, I would get weekly emails with updates. Carolina's conduct was critically UNPROFESSIONAL and MOST UNETHICAL throughout the entire process. Carolina's words from her mouth were in TOTAL CONTRADICTION with what she was having me sign. On August 1. 2018, I trusted Carolina when she said I was signing documents to allow her to put the home pictures on line. The statement is TOTALLY AND DELIBERATELY FALSE!!! I was SIGNING DOCUMENTS TO EXTEND HER RIGHTS TO EXCLUSIVELY SELL MY HOME THROUGH DECEMBER 2018. I had no intention of keeping her as my realtor. I was FIRING as soon as the contract ENDED. LET me make this ABUNDANTLY CLEAR ... CAROLINA DOES NOT meet any MINIMUM STANDARDS when it comes to PROFESSIONALISM, ACCESSIBILITY or TRUSTWORTHINESS. I contacted CAROLINA'S broker, JOHN HOLLANDER by phone, texts and registered mail. I expressed my concerns to him as well. Neither John Jollander or Carolina are receptive to providing any type of positive support during this process. John Hollander did not respond to any of my attempts to resolve my issues with Carolina. When I expressed my CONCERNS about having such a LOW LIST PRICE, Carolina's standard RESPONSE was ALWAYS... the more money you make the more money I make. I asked Carolina to raise the list price to 800k REPEATEDLY throughout the process. Carolina REFUSED my requests. My home is located in a culdesac, a large kitchen with space for a breakfast nook, 3 bedrooms upstairs, 1 bedroom downstairs and 2 bonus rooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 fireplaces, ginormous indoor storage areas. In addition, there's a heated pool and jacuzzi, cement driveway and dog run. all are enclosed by wrought iron fencing. Copper piping from the street throughout. There are 3 carports. I paid 33k in upgrades and improvements. Unfortunately, Carolina's colleague and business partner, the contractor (Morse Construction Services) did such poor work that I had to pay $4, 500.00 to another contractor to fix the caved in ceiling caused by Morse Construction. A three bedroom and two bathroom home a few houses from my home, sold 2 weeks earlier for 925k. Home with fewer bedrooms, no extra bonus rooms, no heated pool or jacuzzi, lacking three carports. The neighborhood these homes are located in is a highly desirable area of Altadena. I received a courtesy phone call from an attorney saying that there is a court hearing regarding the FORCED SALE of my home. I was PERPLEXED because I had no idea what she was talking about. I was informed that I didn't respond to an offer from a buyer that exceeded the asking price of 739k. I then asked the attorney what the amount of the offer letter was. The attorney indicated 745k. I immediately told the attorney that I NEVER RECEIVED that or any other offer letter from Carolina. The attorney called me back the next day and told me the court hearing was CANCELLED. Carolina DID NOT send me the offer letter until after the courtesy phone call from the attorney. The hearing was cancelled because the attorney knew Carolina is the CULPRIT in PURPOSELY WITHHOLDING the offer letter. Carolina wanted the COURT to do HER JOB and FORCE the SALE of my home. Carolina did in fact meet her goal of 745k. The client is NOT THE FOCUS OF HER GOAL After it was all said and done, I lost a tremendous amount of money. Carolina is simply NOT the person you should EVER TRUST to provide you with ANY HOME BUYING or SELLING SERVICES. DO NOT be FOOLED by her SMILE or PLEASANT DEMEANOR. There is NOTHING AUTHENTIC about Carolina UNFORTUNATELY, Carolina has successfully recruited colleagues @ Keller Williams, their families and her friends to provide her with BOGUS reviews. Reviews by fellow realtors and their spouses should obviously be disallowed.
