I found Khorshidi Law Firm through social media, looked them up on Google, and was impressed by…read morewhat I saw. After reading the reviews, I decided to hire them for a pedestrian hit and run case.
From the beginning, I emphasized how important it was to investigate the scene, contact McDonald's about possible surveillance footage, find out whether the driver was picking up an Uber Eats order, and follow up with the detective. I provided the detective's contact information and understood that the firm would handle those things.
For about three months, I assumed everything was being handled. I attended all my medical appointments as instructed, but I received very few meaningful updates. Then my chiropractor's office canceled my treatment and told me to contact my attorney. That was how I found out the firm was no longer willing to represent me.
I understand that the firm may have had legitimate reasons for deciding that my case was not financially workable, and I respect that\. What I do not respect is how they communicated that decision and the lack of clear information about what they actually did before reaching it.
I spoke with Mr.Khorshidi only twice: once when I hired him and again when the firm ended its representation. During that second conversation, he told me he did not know the current status of my case and needed to contact Ariana to get more information. He later apologized and explained that, as he understood it, the case had been discussed in a meeting and a junior attorney had decided it was not financially workable. That was very concerning to me. I specifically hired Mr. Khorshidi, but it appeared that a junior attorney I had never met or spoken with had made the decision about my case. Mr. Khorshidi also could not clearly explain what had actually been investigated or why the decision was made.
I asked whether the firm had obtained DMV information, contacted the detective, requested McDonald's footage, found out whether the driver was picking up an Uber Eats order, or tried to identify the driver's insurance. Based on what Mr. Khorshidi told me, it appeared that none of those things had been done. I appreciate that he apologized, but that does not change the fact that three months passed without clear communication about my case. I was also disappointed that I found out through my chiropractor's office instead of directly from the firm.
Potential clients should know that hiring a specific attorney at this firm does not necessarily mean that attorney will personally handle your case. Your case may be given to a junior attorney, and you may not even know who is making important decisions. Also, if you want to speak with Mr. Khorshidi, you have to make an appointment. Simply hiring him does not mean you can easily reach him, which I think is insane. My interactions with the receptionist, Jennifer, were consistently unpleasant. She is rude when speaking to clients, and her tone is extremely unwelcoming and condescending. Ariana, however, was helpful and made an effort to keep me informed\. If you do hire this firm, I hope Ariana is the person who helps you.
This review is not because I personally disliked Mr. Khorshidi. I actually liked him when we first met and felt confident about hiring him. I understand that a firm may decide not to pursue a case, but I expect communication, transparency, and an explanation of what was actually done. I have learned that next time I need to follow up with my lawyer more regularly instead of assuming everything is being handled. At the same time, clients should ask before hiring a firm who will handle their case, who will make decisions, what investigative steps will be taken, and how often they can expect meaningful updates.
