I'm not sure why but this C&N tractor has the WORST customer service. Trying to buy a parts for over 2 weeks now, call and leave messages but no return calls. No eta on the parts. Get the run around on when the part is arriving. 66 miles round trip to pick up the parts so I needed to make sure they're there. Very RUDE receptionist answering the main phone. All and all if there was another Kubota dealer nearby, we would never use C&N again. Horrible customer service. read more

At this point I will post a partial review pending the outcome of today's transaction. It's been well over a month, since March 22 to take possession of some tractor equipment. I was told from day one that the equipment was on hand but needed to be assembled. The Rep (Mike Sears) from C and N tractor told me that they could deliver on April 15th. I had a need to call the Rep the day before delivery on a related matter. At this time the Rep tells me that something came up at work and they couldn't deliver Monday April 15th and could then deliver on Thursday of the same week. Thursday comes. The delivery time they gave me passes. I decide to call about 2 hours afterwards to get an update. At this point I'm told there is problem with paint on the tiller equipment. He offers to still sell this equipment with a $500 discount. Gives me the option but could not deliver any equipment that day. Would not deliver the other equipment (discs) because it would be cause them to make two deliveries. Was then told they would have both the following week. I asked if they could deliver the next Saturday and was told they could. It's now Saturday April 27th and hour past the delivery time the said. I call to get update and is told the equipment will not be delivered again because some other commitment made that day. I am now upset, beyond frustrated. I demand an explanation from Mike Sears. He hangs up on me. I call him back. He tells me he needs to check on when the equipment will be ready and delivered and will then call be back. I get a call back about 40 minutes later from a different person (Rick). Rick tells me that he can deliver the equipment on Sunday. We will see what happens next...... read more

Been with these guys for many years. I think first contact was in 1993. Have purchased two tractors and a whole bunch of garden equipment. Great service. Have an account and just a great place. Now that I am older and less mobile, my wife handles all the chores and she has been real happy with this outfit. Some times she calls me and I explain what I need and they are patient all the while. These guys are terrible. Since the old owner sold off the company the new management are worse than the three stooges. It took them 3 months to try and make simple repairs to my little tractor, but even after all that time they botched the job. I took it in for regular maintenance and to repair the loader hydraulics. But when they FINALLY brought it back to me after 3 months the front loader doesn't even function at all!!! They were very rude to me on the phone, especially the service "manager" Kelley. I asked for a quote on a new tractor and never received a call back. I asked to buy a scraper and a 3 point setup and they sent me a quote but Jeff the sales "manager" never followed through on the order.When i finally goy my equipment back it was broken! never ever go to C and N tractor if you value your money and equipment!! read more

Our family dropped off a craftsman wood splitter to be repaired. The pipe fitting to the control valve had sprung a leak in the threads. All that was necessary to repair It was to remove the broken piece from the valve body and put some plumbing fittings on the cylinder and re-attach the valve. someway or another they decided to disassemble the ram without having a rebuild kit. Now the ram leaks and the splitter is worthless without the right seal kit. I called down there four times. Fernando from small engine repair was supposed to call me back. Never had anyone let alone, Fernando, call me back. In the process of returning the wood splitter , they miss placed a crucial pressure tubing, that goes from the ram to the valve, so even if I do find a seal kit for this thing, I will have to make a new tube to complete the splitter. Not happy with their service. Had to go out and buy a new one. Also charged us $100 for the privilege of damaging the splitter and losing parts. read more

Just had a 50Hr first service on my MX 5200 loader back hoe. Service tech came to work location for first free service. explained all aspects so I learned for my self next time around. As I was looking for a midsized tractor I contacted and visited most John deer and kubota dealers in my area. Nobody was as responsive and knowledgeable as Mike Sears. Cooper took the time to show us how to operate the tractor and answer all of our questions. He was very patient gave us his card to call if we need more help. When my brother and I decided upon a Kubota, we investigated used tractor prices and quickly discovered that used Kubotas hold their value exceptionally well, so a used tractor would be pretty pricey. At the time of our purchase, Kubota had a 0% down, 0% interest financing deal, so between the two of us it was far more economical to finance the purchase of a new tractor than to drop ~$18K in cash on a used tractor. Our target was a 32HP B3200, and we shopped around a bit, pricing out the tractor we wanted at a few central California dealerships. Ultimately, we purchased from C&N in Watsonville, our local dealership, which in the eyes of many of my neighbors has a reputation for being a little more expensive than other places for farm equipment parts and service. But they matched the price of other dealers an hour or more away, and given that they were so local, we thought going elsewhere would have been silly. In the end, any concern we had about having C&N as our source and main service provider for our new Kubota has been permanently erased by our recent experience with them. During the first 65 hours or so of mowing and other normal use around our properties, some 'ripgut' brome grass wrapped around the drive shaft between the engine and the transmission and sprung a leak in the seal. Needless to say, we were really disappointed in the engineering of the machine that would allow for such a problem to develop, and some internet research suggested that it was a fairly common issue and that the whole tractor would have to be split at a huge labor cost ($1000) to replace this $10 seal. The tractor was returned to C&N for service and we prepared for a huge labor bill and enormous disappointment in our new machine, since multiple internet forums told stories of these repairs not being covered under any warranty. A few days ago, Nigel the repairs department manager called to tell us that the tractor was being returned to us. The seal had been repaired, and at no charge to us. They had also fabricated a small guard and installed it on the underside of the machine to prevent the same problem from recurring, also at no charge to us. For me, this was one of those make-or-break moments in my relationship with a business. If we'd been charged a huge amount of money to repair a minor problem that had developed before our tractor had 75 hours of use on it -- which by all accounts they probably would have technically had the right to do -- I would have been really, really disappointed and probably wouldn't ever buy another implement or tool from C&N. In contrast, they went the exact opposite direction, standing by the products they sell, repairing a problem that truly wasn't my fault or theirs (regardless of whether it was covered under warranty) at no cost to me, even going above and beyond by fabricating a custom part for me to avoid the problem in the future. C&N (and Nigel specifically) has done right by me as a customer, and I will return that respect with loyalty. When I need my next implement, or perhaps a bigger tractor, I won't purchase from a far way internet-based company, I'll buy right here in Watsonville with the confidence that if something goes wrong with my equipment, C&N will treat me fairly. When my neighbors ask about my experience with tractor dealerships, I'll tell them how great C&N has been to me so far. They've earned my business. read more

I called and spoke to Mike Sears, one of the owners of C&N (I think) to inquire about a tractor that he had for sale that I was certain would do the job for me. He took ten minutes of his day to explain that while it was a great piece of equipment and a great value, it would not meet all of my requirements. He had every opportunity to take advantage of me, but instead, referred me to a competitor purely on the basis of goodwill and just doing the right thing. We recently purchased a RTV900 from C&N and worked with Mike Sears. He is the best! He hooked us up with a "demo model" and sold it to us as New with all warranties. We saved some money for a couple of dings and a little wear. Mike was willing to work with us, and delivered our new toy to our ranch. I purchased over 50 k in equipment from C& N Tractor. Had a problems with some new equipment and got very little response to resolve it. I spoke to the owner who also made no attempt to make thing right. They have a chip on their shoulder and only cater to the larger customers. I do all my tractor business in the valley. Look at other dealer so you can compare service quality and prices. C&N Tractor claims they might be a bit pricey but have better service, ( I don't think so). read more

I purchased a tractor with most of the attachments from C&N Tractor in Watsonville. For some reason the Kubota tractor is rusting away. I took it and my tiller attachment to them for service. I had a seal that went out on the tiller from sitting that needed to be replaced and the tractor serviced. I normally have the guy come out and service it at my house for around two hundred and fifty dollars. I figured since the tiller needed to have the seal replaced the best would be to load it on my car hauler and take it there. I was called maybe a week or week and a half after dropping it off and Nigel (one of the owners) told me that the seal was not leaking. I told him to check again so they hooked it up to the tractor and sure enough it was leaking. He called back and told me it was leaking and it would be a couple days to get prices and availability on parts. The next thing I know two weeks go by and no call then I go get my mail and there is a bill from them in my mail box. The bill was for $1454.42 for a two hundred and fifty dollar service when it's done at my house by their mechanic and the seal. I never authorized the work and nobody bothered to call to tell me it had been done and pick up the tractor. I paid and was not happy about it. Nigel was out in the shop and could not be bothered to come see what was going on. I loaded my tractor and waited for them to load the tiller attachment with their forklift which they used to unload it with. After about twenty minutes and no response on their part I unloaded the tractor and used the front bucket to load the tiller and then had to load the tractor again. I guess it's my fault for spending over twenty thousand dollars with them buying the tractor with all the attachments and then having them service it instead of doing it myself. I guess they operate without giving you any verbal or written estimates and the work looks like a high school kid did it. Instead of a gasket they smeared permatex around the cover on the side and then spray painted it with their signature red spray paint. I would be embarrassed to let something leave my shop looking like that. I guess it's time to find a honest tractor dealership that does not rip you off and provides good service. No estimate, no call to tell you it's done, no help loading or even finding your equipment just over charged poor service! I will never recommend them again. My best friend purchased the same exact tractor as me the same day I purchased mine because I told him I was getting one. Never again. read more
