I ended up going on a Friday and to my surprise, it wasn't terribly overpacked. However, I did get there quite early just as they opened. I was disappointment that I was not allowed to have a lounge chair, I was only allowed to have a couch spot that was further from the pool. Other than that, I loved the decor, the drinks and apps. I appreciated that they offered free available water and clean restrooms. They even supplied nice towels so you don't need to bring one if you're on a day pass. It also had a beautiful rooftop view. I'd definitely go back.

I got a Tally Me Banana m, which was really nicely balanced between bitter and sweet and a hint of citrus. And then I got a chocolate spicy orange frozen cocktail... I wish I could find it somewhere on their website but I couldn't-- because I would love to try to re-create this at home! The pool bar server that I had two nights in a row was really amazing. The chicken wings were pretty good too. But the vibes... All the vibes were so relaxing and they had a really great DJ on Sunday. Definitely check their website because they have live music regularly.

They have a bar, a library, pool, ballroom, racketball, pickle ball court, and a half court basketball set up. On of the gym areas with the track above as originally a full court basketball area. That is my one complaint, for if that was still there this would be the best gym I've ever been to. Rumor has it the Lakers once scrimmage there. They have a cold plunge ice bath, I also wish they had a real cold dip, like they do at Oshner Harahan. The sauna is huge, and so is the steam room. Marble showers, this place is truly unique. It takes a while to get a hang of where everything is, there's so many different places to work out. Classes are rad, I've done hard body and boot camp so far lead by Tony. Who is this man BTW. Me and my wife pay 70 bucks each, which is a phenomenal deal! I'm gonna spend all summer here. Highly recommend this establishment!

5 Stars "This place is like stepping into a fitness time…read moremachine -- in the BEST way!" I loved working out here! The New Orleans Athletic Club isn't just a gym -- it's a whole vibe. From the second you walk in, it feels like old-school charm meets modern-day motivation. The building itself is gorgeous -- think chandeliers, brick walls, and history dripping from every dumbbell. The weight room? Massive. The cardio section? Plenty of options. The pool? Stunning and feels like something Gatsby would've done laps in. And don't even get me started on the boxing ring -- I half-expected to see Rocky training in the corner. There's even a Turkish bath. Yes, a Turkish bath -- where else are you gonna find that? The people were super friendly, and there was this kind of unspoken camaraderie in the air -- everyone's working hard but also vibing with the beauty of the space. I got a killer workout and a mini history tour all in one. If you're in New Orleans and want to sweat in style -- this is the spot. 10/10 will be back (probably sore but smiling).

A Hidden Gem for Swimmers in New Orleans…read more I spent a month in New Orleans visiting family, and one of my best discoveries was the city's public natatoriums. Thanks to these fantastic facilities, I was able to maintain--and even improve--my fitness level without spending a single dime. My favorite spot was the Gert Town pool. The lifeguards and managers are professional, friendly, and diligent about enforcing the rules--exactly what you want when safety is a top priority. The water here is slightly warm, but still very comfortable--certainly better than the water temperature at UNO. If you prefer cooler water, George Rainey Pool in Algiers is another wonderful place to swim. During the week, I almost always had a lane to myself, and on Saturdays I typically shared with just one other swimmer. On the rare occasion the pool was closed for maintenance, I'd head over to CC's for a coffee and return when they reopened. Worst case, I could find another nearby pool in service. Another perk of Gert Town's location: it's just a short distance from City Donuts and Café, perfect for treating yourself to a piping hot glazed donut after your swim. I may actually move back to the city because of these pools. If you're a New Orleans resident who enjoys lap swimming, you should absolutely take advantage of these top-notch public facilities. Where I live in the DC Metro area, nothing even comes close to this level of quality--and certainly not for free.

Long story short - We bought a rental house with a pool recently. We got someone to do the pool cleaning professionally then planning to hire Mike to do regular maintenance from there. We bought new filter, new chlorine tablet per Mike's suggestion. He showed up and replaced the filter for us and said he would come back tomorrow for the hard part, pool cleaning. Guess what, he disappeared without a word!!! I called, text, left messages many time, but never got a word from him. How a responsible businessman would ditch their customers like this. I just can't believe his business is still running. Attached are the conversation details in case he tries to make any excuses for himself.

After about 2 weeks he stated his work was done and requested final payment. He said the pool would be filled by the morning and all we had to do was set the pump on backwash, add some chemicals in and wait about 2 hours and the kids would be able to swim. The problem came when the kids never got to swim! Very disappointing and unprofessional. The next day when he said the pool will be filled came but the pool never got filled. Come to find out we had a few leaks, mostly from the jets. My family and I were highly disappointed with the poor workmanship Michael provided. It has been 2 months since he "completed " the work and my children are still unable to swim, reason being the main pipe underneath needs to be replaced. We paid Michael to drain the pool, clean it, test the plumbing, confirm pump is good and operable, install timing switch and replace the sand in the pump. Michael never tested the plumbing, if he did he would not have robbed us out of thinking we would be able to swim in a short period of time and wasted money on a very high water bill. I am much more knowledgeable know than I was before about pools that I can spot a "Michael from a mile away. I hope this review helps anyone inquiring to hire Michael for pool services. (SN:all jets have been repaired, currently getting estimates to dig and repair the main drain. )
