If you want to fall into a circular death loop hire C-era property management and then try and contact someone there. You get a call centre in the Philippines, who give you a ticket number. You cannot get the person you're looking for on the phone. I've been trying to reach a property manager since 8:30am this morning (it's 2:30pm now). If I could give them less than a 1 star rating I would. My strata for some unknown reason switched to this company. They've been my property management company since Nov 1. I have not received a welcome package, they won't call me back, apparently no rep to represent our strata. They stopped taking condo fees from my account that has been set up for 16 years...so a week in and the only thing I have to say about them is they are useless. read more

They shouldn't be called a property management company but a property "mis-management" company. They manage the condo building where I was a tenant. In the last year we had issues with frequent water shutdowns for repairs, leakages that spoilt drywalls, inconsistent water pressure that damaged washroom appliances and a central ventilation that was non functional for almost 6 months as some components were not working which they didn't bother to replace. Their staff and helpline is pathetic to say the least . If real estate / property management is indeed a service component of the economy the jokers or shit-heads have absolutely no clue about customer service. Honestly if I ever wanted to write a whitepaper , journal or a book on how not to manage a firm, this would be a great case study to dissect and start from. read more

Having taken over ROA payments for Sage Hill, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, C-Era has made payments more than difficult. You can pay online by credit card, for an additional "convenience fee". You can pay online with a banking account, if you can supply a 9 digit routing number, an American banking convention; Canadian banks use a 5 digit transit number. Evidently, they use an American platform, TownSq, that only accepts American currency while dealing with Canadian customers living in Canada and paying Canadian ROA fees. You can set up Pre-Authorized Debit, but only if you sign away your rights to your legally required ten days pre-notification before withdrawal. C-Era will not process said payments if you do not initial their "pre-notification advice waiver". You can pay by cheque by mail, paying for cheque, envelope, and postage. You can pay by debit, if you can take the time off work to go to their office Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. My bank has better hours. And the solution they offer? Remove the banking option. I would have thought the solution was to use a Canadian platform that accepts Canadian currency. Silly me. If we had any choice, we would never do business with these people. read more

C-Era Property Management & Realty - TownSq only accepts American currency, even though we're Canadians, living in Canada, and paying Canadian ROA fees. - Property Management Near Me - Calgary, Alberta

Previously, Sage Hill Residents Association was managed by another company, one that accepted Interac e-Transfer for payment of annual dues--payment was convenient, without fees or service charges, did not require travel to their office, did not incur expenses (as in the cost to order cheques or to send letter mail), and did not require banking information to be relinquished (as for pre-authorized debit). When C-Era took over, Interac e-Transfer was no longer offered as a mode of payment. The only options now are: pre-authorized debit (give C-Era your banking information), mail a cheque (at your own expense, to pay postage and for the cheque itself), pay by credit card and in person at their office (travel on your own time and at your own expense, then pay a credit card processing fee), pay through an app called TownSquare (for an additional fee). Under the previous property management company, I could pay just my residents association fees, without any additional fees, and without any additional costs. C-Era will eventually sue homeowners who don't pay residents association fees, but the only way to pay those fees is to jump through C-Era's hoops. The logical consequence of all of this is: Cater to C-Era's convenience, or face litigation. This was not the case under the previous property management company. read more

This Property Manager does not know the privacy laws when it comes to installing video cameras or providing video surveillance on common property in a Condominium Corporation. They are completely unable to educate the Condo Board as to the requirements or legal obligations and has left our complex open to potential fines for up to $1,000 a day per offence and/or camera. I have been living here for almost 15 years. 5 years ago C-Era was hired for being our property management company. TERRIBLE Personnel, attitude. Me and my husband struggle paying condo fees they are not sensitive about what is going on worldwide. They demand monies, services but hey never expect from this people sympathize with you. Gossips complains between neighbours saw something in your deck not allowed. They have to run an inspection and not pointed fingers without knowing. I honestly hate them . The board is useless. Absolutely the worst property management company! And I see many other poor reviews here, so I am not the only one complaining about them! I live in Regal Park and despite my many emails over the last one year regarding problems with eaves and downspouts, nothing gets done. Even though they get paid a lot of money from us, I have still spent countless hours (free of charge to them!) trying to keep the situation under control myself in order to avoid a flooded basement. The previous manager, Diane, at least got problems resolved. But Warren doesn't even bother to respond to emails or follow up to check if anything is getting resolved properly and in a timely manner. I hope they clean up their act or the board fires them and gets a better property management company. I own an apartment in Sun-Village (Somerset Calgary) that is looked after by C-era Management & Realty. C-Era Management always has been very helpful with any request I make. The staff is cordial and cooperative. My apartment tenant called me on Apr'29 to complain about the heat in the apartment. I sent an email to C-Era on the same day. I received a called from a contractor on May'01 that someone would come on Monday May'04 between 8-9 am. I received a called on Monday at around 8:15 a.m from contractor that he was on his way. I let my tenant know. By 9:15 a.m. I received a text message from contractor that the problem was fixed. He had to replace a part and all done. My tenant called me the same evening and appreciated the contractor and told me to thank C-Era management and people involved who took care of the problem so quickly. Thanks so much. They are the worste people ever.. i have been waiting 12mnths for work to be done on my house and still nothing now we are into winter and i have no siding on front of my house or insulation and yet no work is done and not only that we have to pay for a new window when the window is perfectly fine all because we need new framing done due to water leaking insinde from the siding on the outside.. worst people ever to deal with.. read more

Avoid this company at all costs, they are dirty and hard to deal with. My husband and I own a condo unit that is managed by this company. They are threatening foreclosure, saying I have not paid my condo fees. But they have been cashing my "condo fee" cheques. When I called and trying to talk to them about it I was told, we can't talk to you about this, call our lawyers. Stay away from this company...... read more

This company is very hard to deal with. I tried to contact the property manager Ed B. many times asking for some information about a water damage happened to my unit for insurance purpose. Left with may VMs but never get a response. Finally they are fired by the board. read more

C-Era got off to a great start by not collecting the first two months condo fees in my complex and then it took them an additional two months to let condo owners know. The way they let us know was by sending out arrears notices with an additional $75 penalty when they were the ones who failed to collect fees. Been trying sort it out with them and they have refused to accept responsibility and have begun to threaten me when they were the ones who created this issue in the first place. C-Era property management considers leaks in condos as normal and will not advise condo board to take proactive action to investigate cause.

Today I contacted the condo manager, Rose to make arrangements to move into my condo that I recently purchased. I thought that giving 1 month notice prior to my moving day would be reasonable. The attitude I received from Rose was very poor. She told me that my request was going in one ear and out the other. I also asked for the name of the insurance company that the condo uses, so I could look into condo insurance rates. She refused and directed me to a website that does not exist. So far I have not had a good impression of C-era Property Management & Realty. I can only hope things will improve. read more
