I was with another Property Managment Company for close to twenty (20) years. They became complacent and did not look after my property to my expectations. A lot to write about this bad company, particularly Michael Lazarowich. But, let's start with what Raffi K. wrote. He is correct, the only good review here at Yelp is from Yolanda, who works at Unison. As you will find out, Unison (Michael Lazarowich and others) aim to screw you with your deposit. I won't go into details, but they will definitely do it. I rented for 16 years in Calgary, and never had any issues with any property management company, but Unison. Avoid this company at all cost! Additionally, Michael Lazarowich attempted to have me cover the property's repair costs, but thankfully, the building manager defended me and informed me that manipulating situations to make the renters pay for repairs is a common tactic used by Michael Lazarowich. In summary, never use Unison, if you are forced to do it, never let Michael Lazarowich be your property manager. read more

Fantastic company! Unison helped us manage the house in the past 2 years and we are so happy they take care of our house. We do not need to worry about finding a proper tenant, which is painful! We would like to take a few minutes to acknowledge Unison real estate's Mike Conrod for his endeavours in managing our rental property this past year. If you're looking for a company to manage your property, this is not it, they are the worst. The keep on adding expenses as they wish without the owner's authorization. If you're looking for a year-long headache, this is what you'll get with them. One more thing, the only person who gave five star here, is Yolanda, who works for Unison itself, so she's trying to mislead the public with the positive feedback, so don't fall for this trick. read more

Kendall Curle was for two years our property manager for our acreage outside of Bragg Creek, AB. We were really impressed by his expertise, helpfulness and personable style and therefore asked him to also sell our property, once our tenants had moved out. As we are currently living in the US , we couldnt have been happier with the way Kendall managed everything pertaining to the sale of our acreage: in a difficult market (Covid , Winter in the Foothills etc) Kendall procured multiple offers for our acreage via an unheard of number of over a hundred showings; these were mainly due to Kendall's outstanding job of marketing our property, through superbly executed photographs of our house and acreage inside and from the outside by drone. Communication was also excellent, as he updated us regularly on the showings and the general progress of the sale of our acreage, kept an eye on heat, clearing the snow from the steep long driveway, etc. , and managed everything expertly. Within a few months the many showings of our acreage concluded with the satisfactory final offer and sale of our property. Where to start on a review of Unison. We had been referred Unison by a friend (who knew the owner, but had not used their services) and after meeting both owners at our places that we would list our properties with Unison while we were out of country for 3+ years (ended up 4.5 years). They started off ok except that they kept on balking at / ignoring the fact that we were out of country and trying to remind them to do our Non-resident tax filing. After about 1.5 years we got a panicked email from their accounting dept to say we needed to fill out some forms urgently... apparently they clued in. That isn't the worst part though... Hard to say which part is the most brutal... - the state my place was left in for months after tenants did a midnight move at start of April 2016. Unison still had it in their roster for three months before we fired them as our management company but there was still a mattress, shoes, coats and food in the fridge - that Unison tried to not give me their damage deposit until I brought it up - that the property manager himself was useless and didn't reply to emails or calls - that Unison left us high and dry mid-contract by refusing to do our non-resident tax submissions... or that they fumbled it for first two years we were away... -or that the owner himself was CC'd on most emails (especially near the end) and not once did he step in to even attempt to fix things. Instead he let his incompetent employees fumble things further and allow it to get to us firing them and me slagging them here and will soon be a google review posted. This is a business that will put on a fake smile to get your property in their hands and then do as little as possible with it. I would think twice about using them. Being away it was near impossible to change management companies but in hindsight I probably should have just added a few days onto a visit back to Canada to get rid of them earlier on and switch. I'd welcome a contact by the owners... but as he never replied to any of my emails in the past I have no delusion he will reply now. I'm sure that now that this is public he may have a response. read more

There are many real estate companies here in Calgary to choose from - don't choose this one! Mistakes can happen and what really differentiates companies is how they deal with customers and customer complaints. Unison Realty was completely dismissive and rude in "dealing" with my complaint. They had my money and were going to keep it! I now have to go to the expense of suing them to get it back. Their customer service is HORRIBLE! Avoid them. read more
