My visit here was okay. I really wanted to try this place when it initially opened but didn't get a chance. I finally tried it not too long ago. It's kind of a trendy cafe, I've seen photos of the other locations but those ones look a lot fancier. I came here because I saw on insta they said this location was the location that had the Ube Matcha Latte but when I went they didn't even have it, which was disappointing since it was being advertised on Instagram. It was also kind of difficult to order and ask questions with the initial barista I was speaking with because of the language barrier so she didn't seem to understand what I was asking but fortunately another girl stepped in to help her out. Since I couldn't get the Ube Matcha drink I got the Hojicha Matcha Iced Latte which was okay conpared to other Matcha drinks I have tried, it seemed like there was a lot more ice than matcha and the large cup isn't very large plus the paper straws were just a no for me. They could have just used other compostable straws rather than paper ones so I give the paper straws a thumbs down. The service was very friendly though despite the language barrier. I didn't see much gluten free options here. I think at a time they carried gluten free donuts from another company but I didn't see them there this time. I'd give this place another shot though once they do have the Ube Matcha Latte drink available. read more

Had dessert, coffee and tea at this location after dinner for a friend's birthday celebration. The place was not busy and got seated at the private/enclosed dining space. There's not much of selections as it's almost closing time and serving food and beverages on a to go packaging although we prefer the porcelain mugs and dishes. The Dubai Chocolate Cookie was very hard to break and chew while the Ube Cake was soft and delicious. The Ultimate Chocolate Cake was my favorite. I came for a quick snack before heading to the Cineplex in Coq. I ordered Tea with Dubai chocolate cookie to go with it. As u can see in the pic, most desserts were sold so I thought the baked goods were tasty. But unfortunately I was disappointed, the cookie wasn't fresh and I didn't like the taste. The cookie tasted like old oil after a while so I couldn't finish it. We stopped by after a productive morning grocery shopping, you know, advocating for the 'casual hang' ;) My friend had recommended this spot and we were surprised to see it quite empty on a Saturday lunch hour, perhaps because it was during spring break and people were out of town? Easier for us to get a seat! You order/pay at the counter and they will give you a number or a buzzer to bring to your table. Water, milk, creamer etc is self serve. You go up to the counter to pickup drink orders but they brought our food to our table for us. I had the Korean Fried Chicken bowl which was beautifully presented and love that the sauce was on the side. Very healthy and balanced plate with decent amounts of colourful veggies along with a healthy serving of rice and the fried chicken (delicious). There's also a private room for a party of 4+ but unsure if you can reserve it ahead of time or if it is FCFS - would be great for a girls brunch/working lunch. This place has been on my list for a long time and I finally took the effort to drive all the way out to Coquitlam to try! The space itself was quite small but not loud in any way. Many of the customers were studying or working quietly, and I would imagine it's a great place to study. Interior is modern and staff was nice. We ordered a carrot cake, hot black salt cream latte, and iced caramel macchiato. The salt cream was both sweet and salty, which I liked. However, the coffee itself was too bitter and acidic side for my liking. It did balance out with the sweetness of the carrot cake though. Caramel Macchiato was quite standard and easy to drink. Avocado Toast with Poached Egg Korean Fried Chicken Bowl Matcha Green Frappe Mont Blanc Tart Vegan Black Pink Cake I'd been here once before, and back then my daughter had ordered the Avocado Toast while I eyed it with envy. This time I decided to have my own order of Avocado Toast and I had it with a poached egg. I almost thought that they messed up my order as initially I couldn't find the egg on my dish. There was a small metal cup that I thought had mayonnaise in it, but it turned out the cup was holding my poached egg! The egg was perfectly cooked. It was so incredibly jiggly; when I burst open the yolk it was soft and runny. My husband very much enjoyed his Korean Fried Chicken Bowl. I wanted to try this place because I thought the drinks looked great and the food also sounded good. My drink lived up to expectation but the food not quite. I ordered a bibimbap wrap, a black pink cake, and an iced black salt cream coffee. The wrap was mostly rice inside with the occasional larger bite of a vegetable. The black pink cake (chocolate cake with berry frosting and a little bit of raspberry jam) was very good in the flavour department but difficult to eat because it had just come out of the fridge and the frosting was hard. I think it would have been much nicer if it was served closer to room temperature so that the frosting could soften a bit, and the texture of the cake likely would have been better too. Their cake fridge was out of order so the cakes were being stored in the regular industrial fridge; maybe it's different when they have the use of the cake fridge. The black salt cream coffee was great! I was really happy that they could make it decaf. The most interesting part was the black salt cream, but the coffee itself was also nice and smooth. Service was okay. The person ordering ahead of me didn't speak English well and was pointing at the menu and using broken English to order, and the barista was patient and helpful with them. My order was ready pretty quickly. I was pleased by the presence of vegan options, even if I wasn't really impressed by my vegan wrap. But if you order online, it seems like there's no way to request non-dairy milk for your drink even though they have them in store, which would be annoying if you're using the online order. It's an upcharge in store, so I don't know if they'd honour it if you wrote it in. I didn't actually place my order online but was using the website to check out the menu. I was torn between 2 or 3 stars as I had the mixed experience with the food and drink, but the details are what make it a 2 for me. They don't have glasses for cold drinks or metal cutlery - it's plastic cups for the drinks and wooden spoons, and forks and knives don't even have the (relatively) eco-friendly wood option, just plastic. Not very classy for a brunch spot, and they have plates and hot drink mugs, so obviously they have the capacity to wash dishes. I also think it's silly when single-user washrooms are gendered. I would definitely give them another chance and order different things if I lived nearby, but I wouldn't make a special trip again. read more

Access to bathrooms via keys on the wall. It is a order at front and then get seated type. I only saw one set of outlets at the corner window seat. It seems they sell some branded merch, teas, Blume drink mixes and some frozen foods. I only took a quick glance so can't recall the exact items We stopped by for some burger - got the k chicken burger and the bulgogi cheeseburger. The bulgogi cheese burger came with cheese that looked like scrambled eggs? It was a bit messy to eat as the oils had separated from the cheese and rather than a cohesive cheese slice , it was also the texture of soft scrambled eggs. But the flavour combination was amazing! Decent amount of meat. The buns had the logo branded in them and came as black squid ink buns ( also la Foret vibes?) Okay, but the show stopper, so -good-you-have-to slap-the-table good was the k chicken burger !! Flavour was 10 out of 5 for me ! Evenly coated, crispy outer with juicy chicken meat in centre. The flavour had a good umami flavour , the perfect mix of tangy, mild spice, sweet and salty for a yangyum sauce - ohh gosh if they served just the Korean fried chicken with this sauce this would be my new go to place for immediately. Sometimes the yang yum sauces in other places are too sweet or too tangy but this one was absolutely the best one I've had. Fantastic service, with knowledgeable and skilled baristas. The shop is smaller than what is shown in the pictures, but there are social distancing measure in place (plastic barriers/dividers), so the seats are situated like cubicles. My brunch order: Snow White Bowl ($14.50): one of their most popular bowls that the staff recommended. It's a korean-fusion styled rice bowl with spicy fried chicken in on a bed of arugula. Tender juicy pieces of chicken, coated in a unique spicy/sweet sauce. Scandinavian Benedict ($15): a more classic order with 2 poached eggs, arugula, and potatoes. The highlight was the smoked salmon & dill cream cheese which was nice and creamy. Black Salt Cream ($5.50): very unique drink and I highly recommend it. The base drink is an Americano, and they use a secret house-blend foam on top, and black salt. The flavours go together really well, there's the bitterness from the coffee followed by a creamy foam texture (thicker than regular milk foam) and a hint of the coarse black salt that adds a layer of flavour to the drink. Lattes ($4.30): I really like how smooth and aromatic their in-house beans taste. I bought a bag afterwards (Columbia Espresso beans, which is what their barista's use). Having been bombarded with so much advertising from this joint through Yelp, I was FOMOed into coming here. First impression of the exterior is unspectacular. Reminds me more of the Vietnamese owned Mei Le Bakery and Restaurant next door, which I have frequented for dim sum but have yet to put a fair review forward, since Yelp have been deleting my 2- stars reviews to bolster businesses, I gather more time wasting on Yelp for "negative" reviews is not really warranted..... I digress. Exterior of CMarket is this banal peachy leftover paint. But woah once inside, it is like a sparkling dreamy coffee joint in a K Drama. Actually, at CMarket they do it all. If you can name it, they do it-brunch, desserts, coffee, lunner (lunch+dinner). Jill of all trades. Since I am on a fast, the only item I ordered was the black Americano. It is alright, slightly on the acidic and flat side. Typically, coffee joints use dark roasts for their espresso drinks; curious why they went with the under/medium roast. Typically the dark roast bring out more bitterness and sweetness to balance the acidity but.... each to their own. Also freshness of the coffee emphasizes its flavours. I wonder if it is because the coffee beans are not moving, much of the aroma and flavour of fresh coffee are not present? Thus not at par with micro-brewing joints like of Blue Bottle Coffee of SF or Coava of Portland? Given the owner is a Q-grade coffee roaster, this must all be intentional? The blueberry muffin was the only item fresh/baked today according the staff. My partner had that, given she is a cook/foodie/author herself, she seemed to have enjoyed it. (This is their top selling item we were told.) Ironically for those familiar with Cafe Diviano, CMarket has "borrowed" heavily even the names of their pastries if not more. Not a complaint here, but it is what it is. According my partner the muffin had good texture, but due to their health goals, it is low fat but not tasty. If healthy gluten free low fat is not your thing, I recommend Diviano instead. This is a rather popular place but with the poor choice of acoustic treatment of the interior surfaces, the place is super loud. Not a place for quiet contemplation or studying. Don't take this review as a diss. Don't want to go so far to say their Yelp Rating was/is gamed but it might be over-rated. But to be fair, I might come again to try their second most popular item -chaffles when I am in the hood. As for coffee, plenty places offer acidic pricy coffee, make it a miss. read more

There aren't that many coffee shops in the vicinity nearby I don't think. C Market is cute and a one stop eatery for coffee, tea, sweets, cake and brunch. I went when they generously had free hot chocolate for kids on Family day. The cocoa was great and not too sweets. The temperature was perfect for a child. Also tried their flambeed apple waffle which was pretty good but also very heavy. Their waffle is solid and flavours galore, but would recommend splitting between at least 2-3 people. Good portion size for the price as well. Presentation is great overall and the whole ambiance is charming so there's no wonder it's a popular spot. However, while the kitchen is open and cooked food items are still being served (before 3pm), it would make sense to implement a no laptop policy at least while dine-in food is being served. Having 60-70% of the tables occupied with people studying, watching kdramas, or working from home on their laptops and tablets really compromises the business. We ordered their special drinks, Marshmallow Latte and Tiramisu Latte, I loved how I was able to customize with the milk of my choice. I am frequent to this area mostly to watch a movie.This time i wanted to drink coffee while watching my film of the evening instead of binging popcorns. So, we yelped n found this coffee shop just around the corner from the main highway and close to cineplex cinema in Coquitlam. The space is very calming, clean and modern. Seats are spread in dining style and some high tables too. You can check the screen and board for menu or check one of those provided at the table to order ur food or drink, pay for it and wait to collect it before u settle in. I happen to order some kind of herbal steam tea. Actually the name and ingredients of the drink excited me to try it and i took the right decision. This newly opened cafe and roaster is located at the complex near Silvercity Coquitlam. Dropped by on a Tuesday for lunch before watching Endgame with the hubby. Parking is available but it can get tricky as it shares the lot with multiple establishments in the complex. Interiors are beautiful and their roasting area is located by the entrance. They have several display shelves of pastries and non-food products (totes, etc). Hubby and I ordered two iced americanos, smoked salmon bowl for me and scandinavian benny (smoked salmon benny) for him. Both dishes were big servings and we both enjoyed them. Docking a star because my avocado was still a bit unripe while hubby's potatoes were a bit undercooked. Coffee was great too, I wanna try their hot drinks next time. Oh and they have a wide variety of alternative milks too. However, if you're looking for a place to work or study, this might not be the place for you -- unless we just came in at the wrong time. It was quite loud when we were there and it was so hard to hear the baristas calling out drink orders. The sound of people talking just drowned out the baristas. For food orders, they give you a device so you know when to get your food at the counter. Looking forward to trying out their other stuff soon since they also have tapas at night. read more

For the tiramisu latte which was pretty good. Also got the vegan Earl grey loaf which was super pretty but only had a faint Earl grey flavour. The service was friendly, but a little slow, but they seem to have good food options so I'll most likely go back! read more

I'm a huge fan of C-Market! From their coffee, to their pastries, to their Korean-Western fusion inspired brunch, I have loved everything I have tried. Since this cute little cafe is located in a plaza, there's plenty of free parking in the lot directly outside, which is an automatic bonus in my books. Their food menu consists of an assortment of Korean-inspired sandwiches, salads, breakfast dishes, as well as baked goods. Over my last few visits I've tried a few different dishes: the bulgogi wrap (top 3 faves from here), A+ croissanwich, smoked salmon bowl, smoked salmon toast, and the bulgogi sandwich. Again, everything was delicious. If you're popping in here, I'd highly recommend any of the bulgogi dishes as the flavour is authentic and flavourful. One thing I love is that they live up to their name and actually roast their own beans. I don't know if it's that fact or if their baristas are just that talented, but every coffee I've drank from here has been perfectly made (and extremely strong, which I love). In addition to good coffee and food, C Market also serves as a small grocery spot for any of your coffee making needs and other local-coffee products. Plus, all their staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about all their products. Even if you don't live in Coquitlam, C Market's bulgogi sandwich alone is worth the visit. Wow, I have barely gone out since covid but this place warrents a take out review. If you had a sweet tooth for baked goods give this a place a try. Food: 4.5/5 Not overly sweet loaves and carrot cake which I prefer. Texture and moistness Blueberry loaf: 4.5/5 Almond crumble loaf: 4.5/5 Lemon loaf: 3.8/5 Carrot cake: 4.5/5 Service 5/5 I believe they tried to reach me but it was my friend's number on the uber accout we share, but they communicate fully and to the best of their ability.
