We tried all 4 courses, some of the individual sections in each course are easy some are kind moderately difficult. They are all safe (as long as you have you have your harness connected to the rope :-) ). They give a 15-20 minute introduction/training and then you are on your own. Everything is hands on, there won't be anybody to help (the instructors will be watching from the ground and come and help if needed). The only downside is all instructions are in English as most visitors are local, they did give us a 2 minute condensed version in English, obviously we were a bit anxious as we didn't know what important information we missed. Take a pair of gloves as you use your hands a lot to hold the ropes (both metal and string) and a water bottle that you can hook to your harness. Overall a very good experience if you are an adventurous type and not afraid of heights. I was super excited to go ice skating here and Uber'd here on a Sunday evening (around 4 or 5pm)…read moreonly to be disheartened when all the ice skating rentals were closed. The place looked so funn...basically an iced over pond in the middle of fountain park! The ice didn't look to be the most maintained (skating could be challenging), but there was such a wonderful crowd embracing winter around here. So if you come here - just be aware you may need to bring your own skates (double check the rental times). You can also bring a snow tube to enjoy some hills in the park after you're done skating!

This place is magical; it's right in the middle of the park and is a close walk to everywhere in Le…read morePlateau. The ice surface was perfect for an afternoon of skating with people of all ages and skill levels. The music was nice, the trees and benches in the middle provided a great place to rest and to people watch and the beer inside when you're done is only 4,50$. The best part is, the skating is free and there's lots of parking if you need it. Bring your own lock for the locker and come on down. The rink is open until 10pm.

There is a food court and plenty of chairs around the rink of guest to snack and enjoy the skaters. The price was $12.00 for one hour and you should purchase your tickets ahead of time online. The workers were friendly and professional. We had a fun time especially if your trying to get out of the cold weather for a fun activity!

*** This review is again only for the gym/fitness room of the cepsum and not the entire place (does…read morenot include the various squash, volleyball, etc. Rooms and the courses) Over time, the gym at the cepsum has definitely gotten better. The price is still very decent coming to about 15$ a month if you're a student at HEC, Poly or UdeM and you buy the 1 year subscription. They added a new multi room where TRX courses are taught and there's a bunch of cross fit equipment. Usually, the room is closed, but at certain times, those who are the gym membership have access to that room and can take advantage of the different equipment. The gym is fairly clean and even thought it says to wipe the machines, people don't seem to do it very often. You have to have a towel to get in. That's super important or they will deny you entry. Usually, it's pretty busy after 4pm on the weekdays. Before that and all day during the weekends, there's not too many people. I think the biggest upside to the CEPSUM gym is the proximity to the schools and the student discount. It's definitely not worth it if you don't live close and you're not a student/employee of one of the aforementioned establishments.

The cepsum has a lot of things to do…read morelike field track, swimming pool, gym, studios, racquets squash, ping ping, gymnastic, a sauna, hockey stadium, ice skating etc. It is pretty inexpensive because the students have to pay a fee every semester to keep these buildings up and running. For a university student, everything is paid for except the gym. The fees are quite affordable compare to many gyms and the place is not always busy. I never reserved the machine I want. The complain I have is for the gym, there are too many cardio machines and not enough weight machines to go around. Overall, this place is pretty great for a sport enthusiasm. I would even describe this place as a god send for the sports athletes.

Le Crux has started a great activity that I just love. Climbing and bouldering! It's an amazing…read moreexercise. A great activity for cardio, strength training and endurance for many muscle groups. Being new to this sport they offer for you to rent climbing shoes and a harness very easily at Le crux for inexpensive. Bring socks. They have many options for day pass, a set # of visits and 1/2 year or annual passes. I started this challenging new sport in the summer time and noticed on a few visits this summer that they do many day camps for young kids. Beware as on the camp days over by the ninja warrior gym those walls can get fairly busy. On the first visit you must sign their waiver and have an intro by a staff member. The process does take a bit of time and thus if there is a big group upon arrival the entrance can get backed up a bit when you arrive. Stay patient. The fun is about to begin. I usually do a bit of top roping at different degrees of difficulty and then go for some bouldering. Bouldering is more difficult and harder on the hands. Working on building up endurance and strength. My average visit is usually around three hours. After that my hands feel sore and chafed. For some of these guys/ girls who are more advanced it's pretty amazing to watch them climb. They make climbing up the walls look so easy! It's like a monkey chasing after a stash of bananas at the top. Oh how I wish this sport was around when I was a scrawny skinny teenager! It would have been easier when I was pounds lighter. :) The complex is quite large with lots of different options from beginner to quite difficult! There is bouldering on the main floor and second floor. Also on the second floor is a gym for strength training. The do sell climbing shoes and chalk in powder and block format. Also there is a cafe with quick healthy prepared food options. Also the have areas where you can sit at a picnic bench, eat a lunch and take in some of the bouldering action. Le crux has announced a new location coming soon in a laval . So I can't wait to see see how it's planned out different. Also hopefully they allow you have access to visit both locations with a membership. It's a great sport and great activity to take young kids along with to burn off some steam.
