You essentially have to go up about three levels to get to Oriente. Once there, there are ticket machines and a ticket booth. Although I had tickets already, I had a question and the gentleman was very nice and informative (he spoke limited English). I recommend waiting in the main concurse (open air) rather than going to the platform. Whiles there's a canopy over the tracks, it can be quite bright and there's not a lot of room to sit. Another advantage of waiting on the main concourse is there's a little cafe and vending machines. The cafe has a few tables and sells drinks, coffee, sandwiches, and desserts. The cafe only accepts cash. Be ready to deal with an attendant who could be friendlier. Overall, decent train station but it needs better signage, as it lacks a large screen with all upcoming arrivals and departures. You also can't hear announcements very well. Pro Tip: If you want to grab drinks and food for the train, there's a supermarket inside the mall across the street.

The best part was talking with Marta, she was so fun and because she used to be a journalist, she told great stories about each place we visited. We ended our tour at the Lisbon Winery, which you definitely have to go to. Adriana took wonderful care to show us so many wines, ports and food from the different regions of Portugal. We did several tours while in Lisbon, all very touristy-aimed at the masses. This was personalized and I highly, highly recommend you add this to your list of things to do!

We were warned at our hotel about pickpockets here, they were hawkers offering us rides & things. We weaved past churches, shops, cafes, museums, lots of beautiful tiled buildings. It is one of the oldest stations on the Lisbon network, having opened in 1959. It is an underground station and is surprisingly handicapped accessible. At the street level, look for the lift station. I couldn't find it. That would have been helpful for me with my big suitcase today. Instead, I lugged it down the stairs. The ticketing concourse has the usual automated vending machines (my 24 hour ticket hasn't expired yet!) and turnstiles. On the Yellow line, it is between Campo Pequeno (towards Odivelas and Picoas (towards Rato). And on the Red Line, it is between São Sebastião (the next station is the end of the line) and Alameda (towards Aeroporto). Signage was good enough that I did not get lost or on the wrong platform. You can use the red line from this station to get to the Airport within 19 minutes, and the central location within the city would make this a likely stopover point for those travelling to the Airport. It is also reasonably close to the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel. The Lisbon Metro seemed straightforward to navigate between lines and in stations. Ticket machines have an English language option. The pricing is reasonable, costing €1.80 for unlimited use of the metro within one hour, however, you must also purchase the "navegante card" for 50 cents, this can be re-loaded, but with it only being a tiny bit of paper, it is easy to damage or misplace, and the cost does add up if you keep leaving it behind. The Lisbon Metro as a whole is unique and many of the stations have interesting artwork which can be a tourist attraction in its own right. In terms of everything else, it's pretty much an average Metro station in Lisbon, the art is nice, but there are certain nicer-looking stations on the network, once you're underground it is fairly easy to follow the station and get between lines, with signage provided in English and Portuguese being quite good. I do agree with other reviews that the lift was hard to find, and I too had to carry my large suitcase down the stairs on my way to the Airport. 3*

This was our 3rd self-guided bike trip (previous years included Czech Republic and Puglia, Italy). The lodging was incredible. Arriving after biking all day to a basket of goods & refreshments was much appreciated. Taking a refreshing dip in the pools was also welcoming. The wine experiences were exceptional, especially the tasting at Ervideira in Èvora. Support from BikeIberia - another person posted a similar comment and we should of listened!! One bike had unsafe lack of braking power. Our group of 8 had two experienced bike mechanics and they were unable to fix this problem. The response from BikeIberia was "Let one of the smaller women ride that bike." Guess that's an option if you want see someone seriously hurt! Bike condition/safety: 2/5 stars - above and also two of the bikes had the chain jumping off the gears into the spokes or off the front gears. The rear chain jumping off locked the back wheel which was dangerous. Obviously the bikes were not thoroughly road tested and tuned to acceptable and safe standards. Fortunately, a group of two finished their BikeIberia tour the day prior, and the two Cannondale's fit the folks with no brakes/no gears. Bike routes: The itinerary was well organized with the average distance of 30 miles/daily was ideal. We enjoyed the castles, churches and cemeteries that greeted us throughout the day. However, we did not feel consistently safe on the roads; many roads ridden with minimal shoulders. Also, did not appreciate the routing at the end of day, through towns, past ALL 'sights' and finally to the lodging. This often involved narrow cobblestone roads shared with cars, trucks and walkers.

I made a request…read morewaited the 10+ Minutes in the cold rain- I see the driver based on his license plates though a PHOTO- COLOR OF the car was missing. He looks at me and points forward. UP A CURVING HILL- I follow him then he cancels the trip. Unacceptable- unprofessional and not a standard UBER should stand behind. No call- no text. I was left to find my way to town 30 min walking on windy roads. This could have been avoided by your driver having the decency to keep the ride since I waited!!!!! I have never had this happen to me. It's humiliating and has caused me so much stress. A taxi ride back home was $45 USD!!! There is another ride share option in this country but I choose to support Uber. Not sure why.
