I wrote a glowing review of this computer repair shop yesterday but unfortunately it didn't process. So here goes again. C-Prompt is awesome. I bought my computer there 6 years ago and have never had a problem. Josiah who was 16 at the time assembled the various components with speed and accuracy. It was amazing to see a mind that sharp in action. Since then, he's helped me straighten out issues with Outlook express regarding server addresses when TDS wasn't that helpful-- helped me unfreeze my wireless mouse also. I don't recall a charge for that but even if there was a $50 labor charge, it was well worth it. He's patient, thorough and is user friendly-- ha ha.
His younger brother Mathias is a genius as well. I brought my PC to him to remove some malware and he only charged me for an hour's labor even though it definately took longer for the malwarebytes program to install and run. Again, he explained what happened and why. It was a fake windows antivirus program and I was tricked into downloading some contaminated files. Additionally, and more recently since my move out West, I needed a CA upgrade since I woke up one morning and realized my antivirus had been disabled. Without asking for any payment, Mathias stayed on the phone with me for at least 15 minutes after sending me a link for the CA upgrade and helped me uninstall the old version and install the new.
Brian (the Dad) has raised some smart, respectful, and sharp as tacks boys. They stand behind their product after custom making it and I'd never consider getting it serviced anywhere else-- even if it meant shipping it back to Maine. And I fully intend to renew my CA through them only. If you go to Best Buy, don't say I didn't tell you so. C-Prompt's local, friendly, and professional service is unmatched and their prices are every bit as fair as the big box chains. read more
