I paid $533 for a tooth extraction, but my insurance only reimbursed $119 because the clinic's fees are much higher than what the insurance company is willing to cover. At other dental clinics, you only need to pay less than $200 out of pocket, and $179 of that is a once-a-year fee that won't be charged again for your next visit. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this greedy clinic.

It took five weeks of back and forth with a rude Anderson Dental administrative worker, who kept interrupting me, telling me to stop talking, and spouting nonsense about the importance of communication and recognizing that these processes take time (FIVE WEEKS!? Just admit that you forgot or were trying to wait me out) to receive payment from Anderson Dental after they'd acknowledge that they had misled me. These people are scammers and their workers should be embarrassed that they stoop to trying to steal from graduate students. Never going back.

No amount of reasoning with them resulted in any progress, and of course they're threatening to send their bloated bill to collections. Apparently, the "Caring Family Dental" name doesn't mean much to them. They're just another version of the corporate dental business that tries to always pile more on. At this point, I would NEVER trust any treatment plan quote they issue, as I know now that they'll just radically alter the numbers afterwards. Even if they tell you with certainty what the numbers will be, I now know that means nothing. I eventually filed a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General and we'll see where that goes, but man, what a huge hassle. I wish more businesses would actually read and abide by Illinois' deceptive practices laws.
