Went there a few years ago for a general cleaning. They did a good job during the pandemic but the doctor only saw me for one minute or two

They only see you as a $$ and not a person. There is no relationship between you and the staff. Disappointing!!

This is a very dishonest dental clinic. They charged over $500 to extract a single tooth and…read morerequired patients to pay upfront before seeking reimbursement from their insurance. Patients have no idea about their pricing beforehand and end up paying out of pocket without understanding the cost. I paid $533 for a tooth extraction, but my insurance only reimbursed $119 because the clinic's fees are much higher than what the insurance company is willing to cover. At other dental clinics, you only need to pay less than $200 out of pocket, and $179 of that is a once-a-year fee that won't be charged again for your next visit. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this greedy clinic.

I was looking for a new dentist and spoke with their…read morereceptionist, who assured me that they take graduate students' Delta Dental and have plenty of grad student patients. She warned me that they require payment upfront and then submit the bill to Delta Dental for reimbursement. When I arrived for my appointment, I confirmed this information again with the front desk and my hygienist. A simple check-up with no problems or peculiarities cost me $300!! Delta Dental couldn't cover more than half because of Anderson's exorbitant rate! A Delta Dental representative told me she'd never seen anyone charge so much. It took five weeks of back and forth with a rude Anderson Dental administrative worker, who kept interrupting me, telling me to stop talking, and spouting nonsense about the importance of communication and recognizing that these processes take time (FIVE WEEKS!? Just admit that you forgot or were trying to wait me out) to receive payment from Anderson Dental after they'd acknowledge that they had misled me. These people are scammers and their workers should be embarrassed that they stoop to trying to steal from graduate students. Never going back.

I deeply regret my experience with Dr Standley and wish I had sought a second opinion before…read moreproceeding with treatment. After moving, I saw this dentist for a checkup and was told I needed seven fillings, even though my previous dentist had only recommended monitoring those areas. Trusting their judgment, I went ahead with the work. After the fillings were placed, I experienced persistent dental pain. It hurt to bite down, floss, and even eat moderately cool foods --something as simple as room-temperature toothpaste became painful. I returned multiple times hoping for relief, but only minor adjustments, such as polishing, were made, and the discomfort never fully went away. Years later, I finally decided to switch dentists after living with ongoing pain. My new dentist noted that one of the most painful fillings might not be possible to fix due to its size and that another had a shadow near the nerve, meaning I may now need a root canal ("Doesn't it hurt?" my new dentist asked, surprised. "The other ones hurt more" I replied). I can't help but wonder if some of these fillings were unnecessary in the first place. I wish I had questioned the extent of the treatment before agreeing to it, as I am now dealing with chronic dental pain and uncertainty about my health. I may never be able to enjoy food without pain again, and I'm deeply worried about what my future holds in terms of dental work and discomfort. I'm sharing my experience so others can make informed decisions about their own dental care and hopefully avoid what I'm going through. The other 1 star review here mirrors my experience exactly, down to the flippant attitude regarding botched fillings. I wish I had seen it before.

When I do call, the staff are often rude and abrasive, leaving me feel unheard. They have charged the wrong insurance leaving me with an unpaid balance they say I must pay before scheduling an appointment or before they will submit a claim to the correct insurance, as well as contacted and discussed my information with my parents despite me being over the age of 18. While my in person experience has been great, the headaches I have had due to this negligence often has me wishing to go to another dental practice in town. When I called to attempt and correct my information the most recent time, the office staff began telling me about my brothers insurance and balances. I am concerned about the handling of private information in relation to HIPAA at this practice.

I looked around a little. Good-looking place. Clean. Orderly. I filled out the paperwork, waited maybe 3 minutes, and Angela appeared. Again, super nice & professional. She seated me, did the preliminary work, and within a minute or two my new dentist arrived. Dr. Jeff Brunson. Really good guy. He was excellent. He checked me over, did a quick x-ray, scheduled my procedure, I returned in 2 weeks . . . and twenty minutes later walked out extremely grateful. I felt so much better. Dr. Brunson is a very fine dentist. Nothing hurt. The cost was way reasonable. If you haven't been to a dentist in a while, check this place out. They take great care. Thanks to Mary, Angela, Judy, and above all, Jeff.

They go out of their way to make sure you understand all of your options and your insurance coverage. They go over the insurance and estimated coverage and are sure to explain that it is an estimate and it could change once the claim is processed by your insurance plan. I highly recommend this entire team. I was stressed about finding a new dentist after 20 years with my old dentist but Dr Markwood and her team made the transition very easy. In fact I am happier now than I was with my previous dentist.

In their office, they issued extensive verbal assurances about the pricing and they made it seem like they had confirmed everything with insurance, but it turned out that they hadn't done any due diligence at all. They were basically just making up the numbers and telling me they were certain. I paid them everything they quoted me that day, and my insurance paid them too, but 5 weeks later they're demanding hundreds more. No amount of reasoning with them resulted in any progress, and of course they're threatening to send their bloated bill to collections. Apparently, the "Caring Family Dental" name doesn't mean much to them. They're just another version of the corporate dental business that tries to always pile more on. At this point, I would NEVER trust any treatment plan quote they issue, as I know now that they'll just radically alter the numbers afterwards. Even if they tell you with certainty what the numbers will be, I now know that means nothing. I eventually filed a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General and we'll see where that goes, but man, what a huge hassle. I wish more businesses would actually read and abide by Illinois' deceptive practices laws.

If you're looking for a dental office with TVs to watch while getting your teeth cleaned, this is not it; if you're looking for a super thorough dental exam in a friendly environment then this is your spot. Scheduling is flexible as they're open a bit later on weekdays and on Saturdays as well. The hygienist I had was terrific, Kathy herself was in and out of the appointment but gave me advice and information for a longstanding teeth/jaw issue that I'd never heard of before. I'm not originally from the area so finding a trustworthy dentist who cared about me as a patient but also wasn't going to suggest unnecessary and costly fixes was important, and I've definitely found that! A great little family owned practice in Champaign!
