Waited 45 minutes at the gym counter watching the two counter workers socializing while 2 others in addition to me needed help. When we were finally acknowledged, the worker was extremely rude and immediately went back to socializing without helping us. read more

This was my first time every in a Cabelas and is was pretty much what I expected. It has plenty of outdoor gear and some local souvenirs up front. If you need to kill time in Mitchell or you need any outdoors gear than Cabelas is a good bet. 4/5~MP read more

I am not a huge Cabela's fan. There is lots of "outdoorsy" stuff. Most of the clothes I see being worn all over the place. So it really seems to be more of fashion store for clothing. Good news is you can buy guns, bows, and everything else you need for an outdoor adventure. Just beware of price as it can get quite pricy. read more

Never had a bad experience at Cabela's, and a visit to this Cabela's when passing through Mitchell kept that streak alive. Not much to say except this Cabela's is par for the course in terms product selections, great customer service, amazing decor (aka all the animals hanging throughout the building). Cant quite say whether prices are better or worse than surrounding locations as I live in Alaska and our Cabela's there is pretty expensive due to increased product delivery costs. Would recommend stopping here if you need clothing, guns, ammo, camping, hunting or fishing accessories. read more

I had never been to a Cabela's before this and was pretty stunned when I walked in. It's a huge structure with massive trophyheads lining the inside. Really cool gun section with massive handcannons (Finally got to hold a Desert Eagle). The back wall has a mountain facade with huge stuffed bears and mountainlions and a frigin moose. I'd have to say that my favorite part of the whole Cabela's experience was the sandwich cafe in the back. There were about ten or so sandwiches all made with wild game (think Rabbit, Buffallo, Elk, Venison, etc.) I had a caribou sandwich that blew my mind. read more

This is a beautiful store. We went there to buy Carhart brand clothing and look for a certain style of shoes for my husband. What we noticed right away is no one to help you find item. Like so many other large businesses it's more of a help yourself store. Also only one checker for this huge store. People in line were not too happy. But a few departments did have a sales person, if you were interested in that section. We would go back. It's fun to look around. They sell Yeti which is one of our favorite brands. read more

Not anymore! I visited your store on October 23rd looking for a particular gun and you did not have it that day, the next day the 24th I stopped in again and you actually had it. Bob I believe was his name, had one arm came over to help me. I asked about their price match guarantee that they had posted everywhere and asked if they could price match what Bass Pro Shop was selling the same gun for and he said no because they are not their competitor, not in their area. I was shocked and said ok, I am a Cabela's Signature Club Member, you won't match the price? NO! Looked around a bit came back and another gentleman came over this time asked if he could help and I said I would like to buy this gun but will you price match? He said yes if it is the same gun etc, etc. I will have to check and I said ok. Came back and it was a match but flat out told me normally they would price match but the gun manager, "Bob" said he wouldn't do it. Now I am down right mad and asked why after being a loyal Cabela's consumer for so many years. He said I don't know he just won't because Mitchell does not have a Bass Pro Shop. Guess what Bob, I called while in the store and closed my Cabela's account and then took my card up front and had them shred it. Guess what else Bob! The nearest Bass Pro Shop from my house is 1 1/2 hours. The closest Cabela's is 3 hours, I drove 8 hours to your store in Mitchell. From now on my annual pheasant hunting trip will no longer include a stop, usually multiple stops at your store. No more purchases with my Cabela's card. And our group of 16 heard the story when I got back to our hunting lodge and felt what a foolish way to treat a customer, you lost more than just my business that day Bob for $40. I have now been converted to Bass Pro! read more

This place is great. It is HUGE! Not only is there great shopping inside, but you can stay here for a few days for free. There is RV, Truck and horse parking as well as a septic dump, potable water, dog kennels with a huge exercise area and horse corrals with a huge exercise area. These amenities are offered for free. And it seems that all Cabelas offer free camping and some version of these amenities . It is clean and safe. They leave the lights on in the parking lot and the police do a couple of cruise throughs every night. And you can even run your generator. All in all a great place to hang out for awhile. There is a pond and a park like area where you can sit on the bench. Even a little boat launch. Although I don't know if you can actually put a boat in the water. read more

Free parking for campers, rvs, big trucks. Has a free dump site and water source at the dump site where the parking is. Well lit quite enough if there are no big trucks running but for a quick nap or nights rest in your camper can't beat the price and right off the interstate 90 easy to find. read more

If you can add a message about checking to verify holiday hours why not just put the correct hours on website? I looked up Mitchell cabelas for New Year's Eve and the message open now with hours showing 7 pm closing so drive 4 miles in minus 12 degrees to store only to find it closed at 5:20. Perhaps I should have read the masthead but the open now in red print caught my eye and I assumed it meant what it said. We could have made it over sooner except thought there was time until 7 pm closin. Blame it on me but still aggravating. read more

We have visited many Cabela's, but our stop today was just phenomenal. My 5 year old wanted a Cabela's t-shirt, but they were out of anything for boys in his size. Deb (I think) asked if she could help us, and then explained they were nearing the end of that stock and new stock had arrived, but hadn't been put out yet. She then went back to the stock room, and found several of the new designs in his size, brought them out for me to choose, and my son was ecstatic. Our cashier was also super friendly and very good with our son. We will definitely stop at this one when we're in the area again! read more
