I loved the pottery shop and was peeking into the studio area- Ben was in there working and came out to chat with us. I had already picked out a couple pieces of pottery from inside the shop. And I was greeted at the shop door by Elvis meowing at me! I reached down to pet him and the girl working the shop told me he was begging for food. Lucky Elvis, I had kitty treats in the car! John chased me into the store when he saw me grab the cat treats, lol. I was able to shop while John fed and pet Elvis! Win, win. I made sure to take plenty of pictures & it turns out- my professor had met Ben when he was in graduate school. Pottery makes for a small world! A must stop on the pottery trail through Seagrove!

The place has a great, casual atmosphere. Nina gives very reasonable private knitting and embroidery lessons. She carries a wonderful array of embroidery and knitting supplies as well as items ready-made for purchase. She also can create to order just about anything.

Oldest pottery shop at 120 years!!! What?!?! The Owen's family in the area has so many generations…read moreof potters! The seasoned potter boosted of family and I happily found a piece to treasure. The credit card was down- being in the country, signal doesn't always cooperate and I had no cash. I was told to simply mail a check and he packed up my bowl, but that wouldn't do for me- I came back the next day just before open and slipped cash under the lantern by the door. I was about to text the owner when he strolled up to my car! Such a sweet man. We chatted a bit more and I was off to find more pots!

They also had older pottery displayed in that room that was for sale. I got caught admiring a couple of orange and cream mugs and the woman who helped us happily found the price for me. Done! I bought the pair! I was still elated from exploring Starworks- and loved seeing the studio space through the windows!

The last time I was in a Movie production firm was in purchasing items for an upcoming production. They have the real deal antiques, but also good deals. Always clean and displayed nicely as well.
