He was patient and explained all of our options in detail to help us make the best decision, rather than guessing what we want. This helped us to find the right balance of value, saving money, and spending more on customizations only where we needed it. Everything moved quickly once we started and they stayed very close to the predicted schedule. Sometimes our house had unwanted surprises for them, and they were able to re-route pipes and electrical or modify the cabinet sizing on-site to make everything work in our space. When they made mistakes they were quick to take responsibility and fix it before proceeding. We've heard so many other horror stories from friends doing remodeling and we were lucky to find Cai Cabinetry. Jianshen takes ownership for his team's work and will personally fix anything until you think it's perfect. If he doesn't know how, he finds someone who does. From start to finish, Jianshen and team exceeded our expectations. First, we received multiple 3D renderings reflecting possible configurations. Then we were able to go back and forth with the team to customize as needed. Our space is a bit weird (uneven walls and floors, small space, awkward location of pipes and windows). This project required incredible attention to detail, and Jianshen and team delivered it, visiting our house multiple times to make sure the measurements were right. When it came time for installation, his team was highly skilled and able to make on-the-spot customizations with us to make everything fit perfectly and exactly how we had wanted it. I think what I really want to convey here is not only the fact that the work was done at the highest level of quality and attention to detail, but it was also a pleasure to work with Jianshen and team. Jianshen has a positive, can-do attitude. If you have a unique idea, you can bring it to him and he will likely find a way (and also give you all the details on what the solution will entail). For example, we wanted to restore our 1890s butler pantry - he figured out how to restore some of the original fittings so that the 125+ year old things work like new. We had done a lot of research and consulted multiple experts on this - only Jianshen figured out how to make it work! Jianshen is also incredibly knowledgeable about renovations in general, and we have asked his advice on multiple things beyond cabinets. He is very responsive in communication and hard working. It's hard to find a contractor like that. We would definitely work with him again, and would recommend him to anyone in the area looking to do some remodeling.

Extremely Disappointed - Unprofessional Workmanship and Poor Customer Experience…read more I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with Signature has been so frustrating that I feel compelled to share it. What should have been a straightforward countertop installation turned into a 7-week ordeal full of errors, delays, and subpar workmanship. From the very beginning, the quality of the installation was unacceptable. The seam on the island was sloppy and drew immediate attention, outlets didn't fit properly due to poor measurements, the sink alignment was off, and the caulking was carelessly applied. A Side splash was installed on a wall I never approved, and the company did come back to remove it, leaving me to pay my contractor to patch and fix the wall. Despite multiple visits to "fix" the issues, the repairs were never up to standard. The same seam was worked on several times and left looking dull and worn on either side. Instead of using new material, they repeatedly tried to salvage the damaged piece, even suggesting shaving off sections of the quartz -- hardly a professional solution. Communication was often kept professional with the operations manager, Tim, but came across as cold and short during the final visit, which only added to the frustration. After several follow-ups and ongoing dissatisfaction, they finally agreed to remake the island with a new slab. By that point, I had already lost nearly two months of use in my newly renovated kitchen. I expected a professional job and instead got a prolonged, stressful mess. No one thinks "Yes, I can't wait to uproot my life and take on a kitchen remodel in February and March." But after speaking with Michael and Hallie, my wife and I were ready to do just that. Together we came up with a plan, a budget and a distinct timeline. They listened to our ideas, concerns, wants and needs. Some of those wants went out the window due to budget restraints but they came up with creative alternatives that were budget friendly. A key strength of working with Michael is communication. His sub-contractors were very professional, friendly and true craftsmen of their trade. His crews were also very easy to work with, I could not believe how clean they left everything after each day, even the electrician (if you know, you know). The crews did not just speed through to get the work done and move on; they truly cared about their craft. During each segment, they would ask if we were pleased with their work and if there was something that needed a little extra attention, it was handled to our satisfaction. You really felt as if they cared that this was their home, not something that would be forgotten about in a few days or weeks when they left. They genuinely wanted to do the work the right way, something they could look back on and be proud of and it showed. Lets talk timeline - from demo to the final wipe of a cleaning rag, 7 weeks (with one week of nothing due to my own scheduling conflict), that is very fast, could have been faster but we took our time on deciding a few things. On this journey, we never felt as if Michael or his crews were looking ahead to the next project. When there was meeting at a vendor's store, Michael was there with us, bouncing ideas and discussing what was in and out of budget. We also would send ideas to Michael and Hallie (what seemed like all the time) and they were more than willing to discuss them with us, what was in or out as far as design.
