Beautiful location we stopped on our way back to Edmonton. Their outdoor area was very nice. Our waiter was great he was a young guy who loved his job and took pride in it. My daughter got prawn crunch......,as I posted before is always great! I got their tuna poke bowl and it was great it's better than others as it has four sauces that's what makes it unique with flavour. You know, I'm not a huge fan of chain restaurants that much, but this chain is absolutely in the few restaurants that I can go to consistently. Let's address the obvious, the hiring process is kinda ummmmm what's the word? Wild? Literally everyone that works here is super hot, I think that's what they are going for though . Idk who came up with this plan but good work. The environment is pretty awesome as well. Everyone was laughing and having a great time, really good vibes. Wanted to try the Polynesian Margarita because of the photos & it didn't disappoint at all, absolutely delicious. Their negroni was perfectly made as well & it was pretty strong but NOT STRONG ENOUGH lolol. I asked the bartender to make me something strong & she said she's not the creative type lmaooo I respect it so I just had her make me another Negroni. Really good people working here. Made a reservation for 6:45, roads were bad so we called and informed them we would be 5 MINUTES LATE. they informed us they would hold our table. We showed up at 6:50 they had given away our table and didn't seat us for another 25 minutes. Unbelievable service. What is the point of making a reservation if your going to give it away and we have to wait 25 minutes on my friends 18th birthday. Would not recommend coming here if you would like to eat right away and not wait 30 minutes even after a reservation is booked. read more

The food is one of my issues but the most important. I ordered a chicken quesadilla with sweet potato fries. THE worst I've ever had. There was so little of everything in it that it was insulting. Fries were cold and most of the fries were the dregs of the batch. I was surprised because Cactus Club is synonymous with decent food but this was very sub standard. The waitress came by a couple of minutes after I sat down and asked if I wanted to order a drink or food and I politely asked her to give me a minute. Yesterday , our oldest son took his wife , child , myself & my husband to dinner here . It was to celebrate Mothers Day tomorrow for his wife & myself . They love coming to this one and you need a reservation since it was Friday night & packed inside ! He says it's always busy . We started off with appetizers of a Tuna stack that came with wonton crisps . Very delicious! And an order of crispy fried calamari. They each ordered the Blackened Creole Chicken which is their favourite. I tried a piece & it was full of flavor & juicy ! Little grandson had the mini chicken sandwiches. They looked like mini burgers with crispy chicken fully loaded. 3 on the plate & I thought it was enough for a meal for myself. It looked delicious. Husband & I shared the Green Goddess salad which was huge & we also shared the mushroom strip loin steak . It was very tasty . Dessert we had 2 orders of Chocolate PB Crunch bar . It came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream too. A very lovely evening out, good and service was excellent. Will come back again to try more other selections! What an unfriendly host on the door tonight (March 15th). We walked in to her not welcoming us, then expressing that they were full. After an awkward silence I asked her "for the whole night or..." She then explained that we could be wait listed. I once again had to ask how long the wait was. She told me an hour and a half. I understand restaurants are busy and this wait time happens, however the dismissive attitude of the girl on the door made us feel very un-welcomed. Happy hour was great! Came here recently for happy hour with a few friends and everything was pretty good. The happy hour drinks were super reasonably priced, so we each got 1-2 drinks. The food was a bit pricey but portion sizes are descent so we shared everything. The guac was interesting and unique in flavor. Burger was delicious, meat was good quality. On a Friday nights the price was hopping and super crowded we had to wait 30min for a table, that was crazy. Had a lovely experience at the Cactus Club. It was our first time dining at a Cactus Club and we will certainly be back. Had a great brunette server who was training she was very sweet. Came during Happy hour and was highly impressed. Straws have a weird texture which minuses half a star and meat cook was slightly off so that minuses another half. Wish I could bathe in the avocado dip and truffle aioli. Highly recommend truffle fries and avo dip and maybe pair it with a peach liniowski ambiance slayed with the low light super pretty and cutie inside but the buffalo painting needs to go. why is it lit up? He was attentive and offered refills, etc. He made our lunch, a very pleasant and welcoming experience. As well, the hostess, on Monday, January 14th at noon, was very friendly and helpful. I'm going to give this a 5/5 based on the service. I've been here a few times in the past (maybe 5 years ago or so), and it wasn't that memorable. But this time it was great. Pierre was awesome! We felt very welcomed and warm and appreciated him taking our reservation. We also had an awesome bartender who helped us! I feel bad for forgetting her name but she was great and very welcoming. We were served quickly and it was great - absolutely no issues and everyone was friendly. I was definitely surprised to see how busy this location was. I mean, it's a Cactus, so I was expecting some level of business, but definitely not this much! There was a huge line up! Must mean it is a happening place! Thankfully there is a lot of parking in a private lot. There is also wifi! My partner commented on some of the interesting decor. They had an old school painting above the bathrooms with a really awesome/intricate frame. It's on a feature wall so you can't miss it! The rest of the decor is trendy. This location is a lot smaller than other locations I've been to, but still has a fun atmosphere. My only qualm is something kind of out of anyone's control so I'm not taking a star off for it. The Falernia Reserva Pinot Noir was not good. I hate that I am even complaining about it because we had such awesome service so maybe it's in poor taste that I am. It might just be personal preference too because my partner said it was OK. But it didn't taste like any wine I've ever tried. It is light and bitter at the time... it was a strange wine. We had a great dinner here. I haven't been to one of the Cactus Club Cafe establishments in many years. The food was well prepared and well presented. I found our server to be right on the ball with bring dishes, checking in and taking away empty plates. We tried the Tuna Stack which just seemed to be advertised everywhere including the bathroom in there. It was delicious with the avocado. The other appetizer we tried were their salt and pepper wings. For entrees we had the salmon, tuna poke bowl and the angus steak. All were perfect. Usually you expect the salmon to be slightly over done, but that was not the case. The desserts were awesome too especially the cheesecake. The prices were getting up there. Most entries are close to $30 and the appetizers are $15 or more. The interior was a bit dark and uninteresting and the music was quite loud. read more

I have been here so many times that when I sat down and looked at the menu yesterday I wanted to try something on the menu that I hadn't tried before and that was hard for me as I have tried almost everything on the menu. Everything from the modern bowl with all the different additions you can add to it such as salmon, tuna, chicken, etc. The butternut squash ravioli with prawns is my favourite and I have had that both in the meal size and in the starter size. The tuna stack is also delicious for a starter. I have had the salmon dijon for a main meal. My favourite drink on the menu was called a frose or a rosini as I like to call it. Well that was there summer drink so now they have a new one in replace of it called the blackberry harvest or something along those lines which is just as amazing and good. Highly recommend it. So to find something I hadn't tried for a main meal yet- I got the short rib sandwich and my boyfriend got the Rob's Chicken sandwich and both were amazing. My waitress suggested that I don't get the short rib sandwich as she didn't like it but I am glad I did because I loved it. Yes she was right that it could have used more flavour like a BBQ sauce or something but there was cheese and it was served on sourdough so it was great. Also, it was like a beef dip because you dipped it in beef au jus. I won't be getting this again because I have a rule when I go to a restaurant to get something different overtime and my boyfriends chicken sandwich was better than the short rib sandwich. The only thing I did not like about the restaurant and what I thought was weird was that they started vacuuming the carpet while we were eating. Yes I understand that they were cleaning but it was loud and that place is half carpet. I think they should just do it at the end of the day. because I have eaten so much from here, I have decided to write a full list of everything on the menu (past and present) that I have tried under every category on the menu and whether I recommend it or not. Went in for some drinks with friends after an event in the south end . Had not yet been to this location. Dim, classy space, interesting menu choices topped off with good service. Fridays are $1 off one type of beer and also martinis. I had 2 martinis and found them very average. All of the food coming out of the kitchen looked good and I have no doubt that it tastes just as good here as the other location in the NE. Our waitress was always coming around making sure we had what we needed without being a pest. Bathrooms were cool too. We had to lean forward on the table to have a conversation and it seemed cramped. This was pre covid. But I guess that is to be expected when the food and service is really great.
