We visited twice during our vacation in Calgary and we loved the vibrant feel and tried several items on their expansive menu. Wide array of cocktails to choose from. My husband enjoyed Penicillin which is a mix of Johnnie Walker black, honey, ginger, lemon, lagavulin peated whiskey. My daughter savored her Brazilian Lemonade which is a mix of rum, whole lime, and sweetened condensed milk. I had a Virgin Mojito which was refreshing. Another time I tried another zero-proof drink. I believe it was called Hey Hibiscus. Delicious appetizers that we enjoyed were: *Creole Crab & Spinach Dip served with corn tortilla chips. *Chili Citrus Calamari is crispy fried, sprinkled with chilis, szechuan peppercorn, and served with a citrus dip. *Truffle Fries freshly fried seasoned with truffle, herbs, grana padano, and served with garlic aioli. The main entrees were shareable too and we were delighted with the Peppercorn Ribeye which is this 45 day aged 14oz CAB® ribeye in brandy peppercorn sauce and served with buttered mashed potatoes and green beans. The healthier choices did not disappoint either: *Avocado Kale Salad with Salmon was delicious with crispy chickpeas, grilled avocado, pickled red cabbage, fennel chili crumb, grana padano, and lemon garlic dressing. *Szechuan Lettuce Wraps was this generous portion of chicken (our choice) in sweet and spicy szechuan glaze, sprinkled with a good amount of peanuts, wontons, korean chili sauce, and spicy yogurt. *Tuna Temaki was new on the menu and described as ocean wise™ ahi, toasted sesame, cucumber, serrano pepper, nori, green onion. Walked 20 minutes from our hotel on a cool Calgary evening to try this place and was not disappointed. We were greeted by the friendliest hostess, who guided us through the softly lit ambience to our table. We opted for indoor dining but the patio was tempting. Came here after a flight, was very hungry. They take reservations online on their website, which is necessary because there was a 45 min wait for a table. Luckily, the bar had open seats so was able to sit there to eat. Overall the food was mediocre. They used to have great flavors of wings but now only have hot or salt and pepper. Salt and pepper was too dry. Hot was fine but nothing special. The grilled avocado kale salad was interesting but they are trying too hard, would've preferred a traditional Caesar salad. Parking lot is small so can be a little difficult to find parking. Overall I would probably give it 3.5 stars, but will round up to 4 stars because the waitresses and bartenders and hostesses were all mostly very attractive and friendly so they get bonus points for that. read more

We can never be in Canada without stopping in for Cactus Club a few times. We dined here after flying into Calgary en route to Banff and their food is delicious as always! We have our favorite dishes and every location makes them consistently. Love the atmosphere, music isn't blaring, nice patio seating also. Our favorites are the lettuce wraps, truffle fries, Mex bowl, crispy tofu bowl, Avo Kale Salad, grilled Dijon salmon and blackened creole chicken and cheesecake for dessert. What an awesome experience! I was unexpectedly overnight in Calgary and yelp'd dinner nearby my airport hotel. Lucky me to find the Cactus Club Cafe within walking distance. It was highly rated and thus I selected this place because of the tuna tower. Unfortunately, this dish is no longer on the menu but not to worry. I had the tuna tataki and the "fired" salmon. When it arrived, I told Matthew I could not eat it all (8 pieces each) but I ate every bite with the wasabi, soy sauce and fresh ginger. It was awesome. The place was packed yet friendly and welcoming. It is lovely and comforting for the traveler as well as locals (vast majority of clientele). I sat at the bar with Matthew who did an awesome job. My only constructive feedback would be to "up" the "by the glass" offerings. There were no sparkling options and the options were kinda disappointing. I find wine via Vivino if not familiar and the best rating was 3.9. This place can do better and match the food, ambience and service! read more

I made a reservation for nine people and from the moment I arrived (first one there) the ladies at the front were welcoming and we were given a nice table at the far end of the outdoor patio that felt secluded and lovely for visiting our family. Zoe was an incredible server - the best we think we've ever had - and was so friendly, enjoyable to talk to and accommodating to our needs. It's obvious that she enjoys her job!
